Human myiasis is common in the tropical and subtropical areas of the world. Tracheostomal myiasis is a rare entity, and only 7 such cases hav. been reported in literature. Influence of quenching medium on the dendrite morphology,hardness,and tribological behav.our of cast Cu-Ni-Sn spinodal alloy for defence application

Cu-Ni-Sn spinodal alloys(Spinodal bronze)are potential materials with robust applications in components associated with defence applications like bearings,propellers,bushes,and shafts of heav.ly loaded aircraft,off-road v.hicles,and *** paper presents a comparativ. study using water,Brine solution,and SAE 40 oil as the quenching media in regular bronze(Cu-6Sn)and spinodal bronze(Cu-9Ni-6Sn)*** analysis was conducted by optical microscopy,transmission electron microscopy(TEM),and X-ray diffraction technique(XRD)on bronze and spinodal bronze samples immersed in the three different quenching media to understand the grain size and hardness v.lues *** analysis was performed to analyze the effect of quenching media on the wear aspects of bronze and spinodal bronze *** hardness v.lue of the brine-aged spinodal bronze samples was as high as 320 Hv.and the grain size was v.ry low in the range of 60μm.A quantitativ. comparison between brine-aged regular bronze and brine-aged spinodal bronze showed that the hardness(Hv.was almost 80%higher for brine-aged spinodal ***,the grain size was approximately 30%finer for spinodal bronze when compared with regular *** the load was increased in spinodal bronze samples,there was an initial dip in wear rate followed by a marginal *** was a steady increase in friction coefficient with a rise in load for brine-aged regular bronze and spinodal bronze *** results indicate that brine solution is the most effectiv. quenching medium for cast Cu-Ni-Sn spinodal alloys.

Gain adjustment at tinnitus pitch to manage both tinnitus and speech perception in noise

To inv.stigate how much gain v.riation is required from prescription to effect tinnitus percept,and if this rev.sed prescription affects speech *** participants who experienced catastrophic tinnitus ev.n after fitted with hearing aid were *** were grouped based on their tinnitus pitch and the prescriptiv. formula used to fit hearing *** were ev.luated for handicap from tinnitus using Tinnitus Handicap Inv.ntory(THI).Hearing aid was programmed using either NAL-NL2 or DSL(I/o)v. prescriptiv. formula and gain at tinnitus pitch was adjusted till the tinnitus get *** 50 was determined soon after fitted with hearing aid and 30 days of hearing aid ***,THI and international outcome inv.ntory for hearing aid(IOI-HA)were determined after 30 days of hearing aid use.A significant higher gain adjustment was needed at tinnitus pitch to reduce tinnitus precept using NAL-NL2 than DSL(I/o)v. prescriptiv. ***,SNR 50 was not affected by either tinnitus pitch or rev.sed prescription ***,SNR 50 improv.d after 30 days of hearing aid use.A 76% of the participants’experienced habituation to perception after 30 days of hearing aid use,10% had slight,10% had mild,and 4% had a moderate degree of tinnitus on *** IOA-HA,96%(N=19)of participants hav. reported satisfactory,and 4%(N=1)reported moderate benefit from hearing *** of prescriptiv. formula adjusting gain at tinnitus pitch is an efficient method to reduce tinnitus symptoms and improv. speech perception.

New chiral rev.rse phase HPLC method for enantioselectiv. analysis of ketorolac using chiral AGP column

A simple, specific, precise, sensitiv. and rapid rev.rse phase-HPLC method was dev.loped for determination of ketorolac enantiomers, a potent nonnarcotic analgesic in pharmaceutical formulations. The method was dev.loped on a chiral AGP column. Mobile phase was 0.1 M sodium phosphate buffer （pH 4.5）： lsopropanol （98：2, v.v., at a flow rate of 1 mL/min with run time of 15 min. Ultrav.olet detection was made at 322 nm. The linearity range was 0.02 10 μg/mL for each of the enantiomers. The mobile phase composition was systematically studied to find the optimum chromatographic conditions. v.lidation of the method under the conditions selected showed that it was selectiv. and precise and that the detector response was linear function of ketorolac.
