Many phenomena in nature and technology are associated with the filtration of suspensions and colloids in porous media. Two main types of particle deposition,namely, cake filtration at the inlet and deep bed filtration throughout the entire porous medium, are studied by different models. A unified approach for the transport and deposition of particles based on the deep bed filtration model is proposed. A v.riable suspension flow rate, proportional to the number of free pores at the inlet of the porous medium, is considered. To model cake filtration, this flow rate is introduced into the mass balance equation of deep bed filtration. For the cake filtration without deposit erosion,the suspension flow rate decreases to zero, and the suspension does not penetrate deep into the porous medium. In the case of the cake filtration with erosion, the suspension flow rate is nonzero, and the deposit is distributed throughout the entire porous medium. An exact solution is obtained for a constant filtration function. The method of characteristics is used to construct the asymptotics of the concentration front of suspended and retained particles for a filtration function in a general form. Explicit formulae are obtained for a linear filtration function. The properties of these solutions are studied in detail.

Background The cryptic nature of pink bollworm Pectinophora gossypiella(Saunders)larv.e enables its reduced v.l-nerability to insecticidal ***,the dev.lopment of resistance against Bacillus thuringiensis(Bt)toxins posed a serious threat to transgenic cotton *** necessitated determining the critical timing of spray applications on the control *** study assessed the influence of egg age(freshly laid ***-day-old)and the loca-tion of larv.e(directly exposed to the insecticide residues on the boll rind *** inside the bolls)on insecticide control *** The results rev.aled a significant decrease in the ov.cidal activ.ty of tested insecticides with an increase in the age of eggs from one day old to three days old(paired t-test,Prv.e directly exposed to the insec-ticide residues on the boll rind were more susceptible(>80%mortality)than the larv.e exposed after they had bur-rowed inside the bolls(rtality).The inhibitory effects of tested insecticides on dev.lopmental biology were more pronounced in the experiment on pre-larv.l release insecticide treatment compared with insecticide treatment giv.n post-larv.l release and entry inside the *** Egg age influences the insecticide susceptibility,as does the larv.l location,directly exposed v. bur-rowed inside the *** eggs and the larv.e that had burrowed inside the green bolls of cotton were relativ.ly less susceptible to the insecticide *** toxic effects of insecticides on egg and larv.l stages were primar-ily *** findings are significant for dev.sing a comprehensiv. strategy for pink bollworm management on a sustainable basis.

In this study,a calcium-phosphate coating was formed on a Mg-Mn-Ce alloy by the plasma electrolytic oxidation(PEO).The antibiotic v.ncomycin,widely used in the treatment of infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus(***),was impregnated into the *** with v.ncomycin showed high bactericidal activ.ty against *** mechanical and electrochemical properties of the formed coatings were studied,as well as in v.tro cytotoxicity tests and in v.v. tests on mature male rats were *** to SEM,EDS,XrD and XPS data,coatings had a dev.loped morphology and contained hydroxyapatite,which indicates high *** analysis of roughness of coatings without and with v.ncomycin did not rev.al any differences,confirming the high roughness of the *** electrochemical tests,an increase in corrosion resistance by more than two times after the application of PEO coatings was *** to the results of an in v.v. study,after 28 days of the implantation of samples with calcium phosphate PEO coating and v.ncomycin,no signs of inflammation were observ.d,while an inflammatory reaction dev.loped in the area of implantation of bare alloy,followed by *** release tests from the coatings show a sharp decrease in the concentration of the released antibiotic on day 7 and then a gradual decrease until day *** the experiment,no significant dev.ations in the condition and behav.or of the animals were observ.d;clinical tests did not rev.al a systemic toxic reaction.

The paper is dev.ted to a spherically symmetric problem of General relativ.ty (Gr) for a fluid sphere. The problem is solv.d within the framework of a special geometry of the riemannian space induced by grav.tation. According to this geometry, the four-dimensional riemannian space is assumed to be Euclidean with respect to the space coordinates and riemannian with respect to the time coordinate. Such interpretation of the riemannian space allows us to obtain complete set of Gr equations for the external empty space and the internal spaces for incompressible and compressible perfect fluids. The obtained analytical solution for an incompressible fluid is compared with the Schwarzchild solution. For a sphere consisting of compressible fluid or gas, a numerical solution is presented and discussed.

The effect of enterotoxins is to induce the production of endogenous IF. St. aureus enteropathogenic proteins (enterotoxins) possess an antitumour effect. After intraperitoneal inoculation, they decrease the size and, in some cases, prev.nt the dev.lopment of the human hypernephroma in the cheek pouch of golden hamsters. The effect of enteropathgenic proteims may possibly consist in inducing the production of endogenous immune interferon which activ.tes the host immune system and enhances the rejection of heterologous tumour cells.
