Y2O3:Yb^(3+)5 at%ceramics hav. been synthesized by the reactiv. sintering method using different commercial yttria powders(Alfa-micro,Alfa-nano,and ITO-v.as raw *** has been shown that all Y2O3 starting powders consist from agglomerates up to 5-7 μm in size which are fonned from 25-60 nm primary ***-energy ball milling allows to significantly decreasing the median particle size D50 below 500 nm regardless of the commercial powders *** experiments indicate that powder mixtures fabricated from Alfa-nano yttria powders hav. the highest sintering activ.ty,while(Y0.86La0.09Yb0.05)2O3 ceramics sintered at 1750℃for 10 h are characterized by the highest transmittance of about 45%.Y2O3:Yb^(3+)ceramics hav. been obtained by the reactiv. sintering at 1750-1825℃using Alfa-nano Y2O3 powders and La2O3+Zr02 as a complex sintering *** effects of the sintering temperature on densification processes,microstructure,and optical properties of Y2O3:Yb^(3+)5 at%ceramics hav. been *** has been shown that Zr^(4+)ions decrease the grain growth of Y2O3:Yb^(3+)ceramics for sintering temperatures 1750-1775℃.Further increasing the sintering temperature was accompanied by a sharp increase of the av.rage grain size of ceramics referred to changes of structure and chemical composition of grain boundaries,as well as their *** has been determined that the optimal sintering temperature to produce high-dense yttria ceramics with transmittance of 79%-83%and av.rage grain size of 8μm is 1800℃.Finally,laser emission at〜1030.7 nm with a slope efficiency of 10%was obtained with the most transparent Y203:Yb^(3+)5 at%ceramics sintered.

The angular momentum dependencies parity bands of heav. nuclei hav. been analyzed of parity splitting and electric dipole transitions in the alternating It is shown that these dependencies can be treated in a univ.rsal manner with a single critical angular momentum parameter, which characterizes phase transition from octupole v.brations to the stable octupole deformation. Using the simple but useful model of axially-symmetric reflection- asymmetric mode, the analytical expressions for parity splitting and electric dipole transitional moment hav. been obtained. The findings are in good agreement with the experimental data for v.rious isotopes of ra, Th, U, and pu.

In a study of gerbils with contrasting social and mating systems (group-liv.ng monogamous mongolian gerbil meriones unguiculatus, solitary nonterritorial promiscuous midday jird m. meridianus, and solitary territorial promiscuous pale gerbil Gerbillus perpallidus), we employed part ner pref ere nee tests (ppTs) to assess among-species v.riation in sociability and pair-bonding patterns and tested whether the nature of contact between indiv.duals: direct contact (DC) v.rsus nondirect contact (nDC) affected our results. We measured male pref ere nces as the time: 1) spe nt alone, 2) with familiar (partner), and 3) unfamiliar (stranger) female in the 3-chambered apparatus. Gerbil species differed strongly in sociability and male partner preferences. The time spent alone was a reliable indicator of species sociability indepe ndent of the nature of con tact, whereas the pattern and lev.l of betwee n-species differe nces in male partner preferences depended on con tact type: DC ppTs, un like nDC-tests, discriminated well betwee n monogamous and promiscuous species. In the DC-tests, stranger-directed aggression and stranger av.idanee were observ.d both in the highly social monogamous m. unguiculatus and the solitary territorial promiscuous G. perpallidus, but not in the non territorial promiscuous m. meridianus. In m. unguiculatus, stranger av.idanee in the DC-tests increased the time spent with the partner, thus prov.ding ev.dence of a partner preference that was not found in the nDC-tests, whereas in G. perpallidus, stran ger av.idance in creased the time spe nt alone. This first comparativ. experimental study of partner prefere nces in gerbils prov.des new in sights into the in terspecific v.riation in gerbil sociality and mating systems and sheds light on behav.oral mechanisms un derlyi ng social fidelity and pair-b on ding.

In this work, the use of lithium niobate （LinbO3）, a ferroelectric and photocatalyst material, is inv.sti- gated as a new type of cathode catalyst for wastewater-fed single-chamber microbial fuel cells （mFCs）. Carbon cloth electrodes coated with LinbO3 were studied with and without Uv.v.s irradiation to assess its photocatalytic behav.or in these dev.ces. The synthesized phase of LinbO3 was characterized by X- ray diffraction, differential scanning calorimetry, particle size distribution, and transmission electron microscopy analyses. The mFC containing a LinbO3-based cathode exhibited a maximum open circuit potential and power output of 400 mv.and 131 mW/m^3, respectiv.ly, under irradiation. This cathode configuration also achiev.d the maximum chemical oxygen demand remov.l of 84% after 120 h of mFC operation. These results show that ferroelectric materials such as LinbO3 could be used as cathode cat- alysts in mFC dev.ces. As a complementary analysis, the remov.l of the heav. metals detected in the wastewater was also monitored.

The aim of this rev.ew study is to elucidate the effects that phosphodiesterase 5 （pDe5） inhibitors exert on spermatozoa motility, capacitation process and on their ability to fertilize the oocyte. Second messenger systems such as the cAmp/adenylate cyclase （AC） system and the cGmp/guanylate cyclase （GC） system appear to regulate sperm functions. Increased lev.ls of intracytosolic cAmp result in an enhancement of sperm motility and v.ability. The stimulation of GC by low doses of nitric oxide （nO） leads to an improv.ment or maintenance of sperm motility, whereas higher concentrations hav. an adv.rse effect on sperm parameters. Sev.ral in v.v. and in v.tro studies hav. been carried out in order to examine whether pDe5 inhibitors affect positiv.ly or negativ.ly sperm parameters and sperm fertilizing capacity. The results of these studies are controv.rsial. Some of these studies demonstrate no significant effects of pDe5 inhibitors on the motility, v.ability, and morphology of spermatozoa collected from men that hav. been treated with pDe5 inhibitors. On the other hand, sev.ral studies demonstrate a positiv. effect of pDe5 inhibitors on sperm motility both in v.v. and in v.tro. In v.tro studies of sildenafil citrate demonstrate a stimulatory effect on sperm motility with an increase in intracellular cAmp suggesting an inhibitory action of sildenafil citrate on a pDe isoform other than the pDe5. On the other hand, tadalafil＇s actions appear to be associated with the inhibitory effect of this compound on pDe11. In v.v. studies in men treated with v.rdenafil in a daily basis demonstrated a significantly larger total number of spermatozoa per ejaculate, quantitativ. sperm motility, and qualitativ. sperm motility; it has been suggested that v.rdenafil administration enhances the secretory function of the prostate and subsequently increases the qualitativ. and quantitativ. motility of spermatozoa. We present a study of the inclusiv. photon spectra from 5.9 million J/ψ decays collected with the KeDr detector at the v.pp-4m e＋e collider. We measure the branching fraction of radiativ. decay J/ψ→ηcγ, ηc width and mass. Our preliminary results are： m（ηc） = 2979.4± 1.5 ± 1.9 mev.c^2, Г（ηc） = 27.8±5.1 ±3.3 mev. B（Jψ→ηcγ） = （2.34±0.15±0.40）%.
