Dear Editor,This letter concerns the parameter tuning problem for nonlinear satellite buffer networks with communication delays, aiming to optimize their stability properties under L_(1)-gain. We first model the satellite buffer networks by a nonlinear time-delay positiv. system and propose a nov.l characterization under which the nonlinear system is asymptotically stable with a prescribed L_(1)-induced performance.

Many phenomena in nature and technology are associated with the filtration of suspensions and colloids in porous media. Two main types of particle deposition,namely, cake filtration at the inlet and deep bed filtration throughout the entire porous medium, are studied by different models. A unified approach for the transport and deposition of particles based on the deep bed filtration model is proposed. A v.riable suspension flow rate, proportional to the number of free pores at the inlet of the porous medium, is considered. To model cake filtration, this flow rate is introduced into the mass balance equation of deep bed filtration. For the cake filtration without deposit erosion,the suspension flow rate decreases to zero, and the suspension does not penetrate deep into the porous medium. In the case of the cake filtration with erosion, the suspension flow rate is nonzero, and the deposit is distributed throughout the entire porous medium. An exact solution is obtained for a constant filtration function. The method of characteristics is used to construct the asymptotics of the concentration front of suspended and retained particles for a filtration function in a general form. Explicit formulae are obtained for a linear filtration function. The properties of these solutions are studied in detail.

Purpose:This study aimed to non-inv.siv.ly test the hypothesis that(a) short-term lower limb unloading would induce changes in the neural control of force production(based on motor units(MUs) properties) in the v.stus lateralis muscle and(b) possible changes are rev.rsed by activ. recov.ry(AR).Methods:Ten young males underwent 10 days of unilateral lower limb suspension(ULLS) followed by 21 days of *** ULLS,participants walked exclusiv.ly on crutches with the dominant leg suspended in a slightly flexed position(15°-20°) and with the contralateral foot raised by an elev.ted *** AR was based on resistance exercise(leg press and leg extension) and executed at 70% of each participant’s 1repetition maximum,3 times/*** v.luntary isometric contraction(Mv.) of knee extensors and MUs properties of the v.stus lateralis muscle were measured at baseline,after ULLS,and after *** were identified using high-density electromyography during trapezoidal isometric contractions at 10%,25%,and 50% of the current Mv.,and indiv.dual MUs were tracked across the 3 data collection ***:We identified 1428 unique MUs,and 270 of them(18.9%) were accurately *** ULLS,Mv. decreased by 29.77%,MUs absolute recruitment/derecruitment thresholds were reduced at all contraction intensities(with changes between the 2 v.riables strongly correlated),while discharge rate was reduced at 10% and 25% but not at 50% *** Mv. and MUs properties fully recov.red to baseline lev.ls after *** changes were observ.d in the pool of total as well as tracked ***:Our nov.l results demonstrate,non-inv.siv.ly,that 10 days of ULLS affected neural control predominantly by altering the discharge rate of lower-threshold but not of higher-threshold MUs,suggesting a preferential impact of disuse on motoneurons with a lower depolarization ***,after 21 days of AR,the impaired MUs properties were fully restored to baseline lev.ls,highlighting the plas

Strawberry (Fragaria × ananassa Duch.) is a significant global soft fruit crop, prized for its nutrient content and pleasant flav.r. Howev.r, diseases, particularly grey mold caused by Botrytis cinerea Pers. Fr. poses major constraints to strawberry production and productiv.ty. Grey mold sev.rely impacts fruit quality and quantity, diminishing market v.lue. This study ev.luated fiv. B. cinerea isolates from v.rious locations in the Ri-Bhoi district of Meghalaya. All isolates were pathogenic, with isolate SGM 2 identified as highly v.rulent. Host range studies showed the pathogen-producing symptoms in the fav. bean pods, marigold, gerbera, and chrysanthemum flowers and in the fav. bean, gerbera, and lettuce leav.s. In v.tro tests rev.aled that neem extract (15% w/v. achiev.d the highest mycelial growth inhibition at 76.66%, while black turmeric extract (5% w/v. had the lowest inhibition at 9.62%. Dual culture methods with bio-control agents indicated that Bacillus subtilis recorded the highest mean inhibition at 77.03%, while Pseudomonas fluorescens had the lowest at 20.36% against the two v.rulent isolates. Pot ev.luations demonstrated that B. subtilis resulted in the lowest percent disease index at 20.59%, followed by neem extract at 23.31%, with the highest disease index in the control group at 42.51%. Additionally, B. subtilis significantly improv.d plant growth, yielding an av.rage of 0.32 kg compared to 0.14 kg in the control. The promising results of B. subtilis and neem leaf extract from this study suggest their potential for eco-friendly managing grey mold in strawberries under field conditions.
