Long-term effects of gestational diabetes mellitus on the pancreas of female mouse offspring

BACKGROUND Prolonged fetal exposure to hyperglycemia may increase the risk of developing abnormal glucose metabolism and type-2 diabetes during childhood,adolescence,and adulthood;however,the mechanisms by which gestational diabetes mellitus(GDM)predisposes offspring to metabolic disorders remain *** To quantify the nerve axons,macrophages,and vasculature in the pancreas from adult offspring born from mouse dams with *** GDM was induced by *** of streptozotocin(sTZ)in ICR mouse *** 12 wk old,fasting blood glucose levels were determined in *** 15 wk old,female offspring born from dams with and without GDM were sacrificed and pancreata were processed for *** quantified the density of sensory[calcitonin gene-related peptide(CGRP)]and tyrosine hydroxylase(TH)axons,blood vessels(endomucin),and macro-phages(CD68)in the splenic pancreas using confocal *** Offspring mice born from sTZ-treated dams had similar body weight and blood glucose values compared to offspring born from vehicle-treated ***,the density of CGRP+and TH+axons,endomucin+blood vessels,and CD68+macrophages in the exocrine pancreas was significantly greater in offspring from mothers with GDM vs control ***,the microvasculature in the islets was significantly greater,but not the number of macrophages within the islets of offspring born from dams with GDM compared to control *** GDM induces neuronal,vascular,and inflammatory changes in the pancreas of adult progeny,which may partially explain the higher propensity for offspring of mothers with GDM to develop metabolic diseases.

Bi2Te3-based materials have drawn much attention from the thermoelectric community due to their excellent thermoelectric performance near room ***,the stability of existing n-type Bi2（Te,se）3materials is still low due to the evaporation energy of se (37.70 kJ mol-1) being much lower than that of Te (52.55 kJ mol-1).The evaporated se from the material causes problems in interconnects of the module while degrading the efficiency.

This paper describes the wastewater treatment of 3 liters per second of capacity of discharges of capacity,from the avocado washed,as well as the production of avocado *** were pretreated with a grease and oil trap and contained small amounts of oil and grease,dissolved and total solids,organic matter and trace of organic and inorganic compounds from the vitamins and minerals of *** treatment train is located in an small surface and the train is integrated with coagulation in line with alumina in a static mixer,rapid filtration in two steps,double advanced oxidation with ozone and heterocyclic photocatalysis with a nanofilm of zinc oxide as,photocatalyzer and final adsorption of refractory compounds with activated *** treated wastewater meets the environmental regulation to urban sewerage discharges of the city,according to the results of a Mexican Certified Laboratory.

Iron-Deficiency Anemia Management in Gynecological surgery: A Review of Current Evidence and Best Practices

Purpose: Due to the high prevalence of iron deficiency anemia in women undergoing gynecological surgeries and its association with worse postoperative results, it is necessary to identify and treat anemia preoperatively. However, although anemia and iron deficiency are significant global health problems, there are still disparities in the recognition and implementation of “Patient Blood Management” (PBM) as a comprehensive approach to mitigating the risks associated with these diseases. The purpose of the study is to review best practices for the treatment of anemia based on the Enhanced Recovery After surgery (ERAs) protocol and PBM recommendations. Methods: This study reviewed the literature on preoperative iron deficiency anemia in patients undergoing gynecological surgery. We identified references through searches in PubMed using relevant search terms. Results: Among the various strategies used in PBM, perhaps the most important is the early detection and management of anemia. In gynecological surgery, there are several approaches to reducing perioperative blood loss, highlighting the use of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists (aGnRh) and antifibrinolytics. Oral and intravenous iron supplementation can be performed in addition to blood transfusion to treat anemia. Conclusion: Addressing preoperative and postoperative anemia through systematic correction, following the guidelines of the ERAs protocol and PBM guidelines, is essential to improving perioperative outcomes in women undergoing gynecological surgery.

Bedrock outcropping in the accumulation zone of the largest glacier in Mexico(Glaciar Norte of Citlaltépetl),as evidence of a possible accelerated extinction

The highest volcano in Mexico,at the same time the third largest mountain in North America(Citlaltépetl,5610 m a.s.l.),is home to the largest glacier in the *** of the extinction of the Popocatépetl glacier(5500 m a.s.l.)caused by eruptive activity,and the almost disappearance of the Iztaccíhuatl glaciers(5220 m a.s.l.)due to the lower elevation of the mountain,the Glaciar Norte of Citlatépetl has been the only glacier that has shown a certain degree of stability as a response to the altitude in which it is ***,as occurs in almost all glaciers on the planet,the retreat of its glacier terminus has been ***,during the last years the thickness of its upper part began to decrease rapidly until its bedrock was exposed for the first time in *** to its ecosystem importance and because it is the main glacier in Mexico,as well as the only one in the world located at latitude 19°N,in this work its current dimensions are updated,as well as the local climatology that governs the current state of the glacier is pointed *** study was based on the analysis of high-resolution sentinel-2 optical images,as well as through sentinel-1 sAR images,with the support of climatological information from the study ***,the outcropping of the bedrock in the accumulation zone and the consequent horizontal retreat of the upper part of the glacier are documented;at the same time,the decrease in the thickness of the ice along it is *** rocky outcrop in the accumulation zone suggests that the flow dynamics of the ice towards the ablation zone will be considerably less,accelerating the retreat of the glacier ***,the ascent of the glacial front to 5102 m *** the modelled altitude of the equilibrium line to 5276 m *** reported as a warning signal in terms of snow catchment and mass balance;likewise,the decrease of 23%of its surface is also indicated regarding the surface reduction monitoring that has been done

This paper aims to present a comprehensive proposal for project scheduling and control by applying fuzzy earned *** goes a step further than the existing literature:in the formulation of the fuzzy earned value we consider not only its duration,but also cost and production,and alternatives in the scheduling between the earliest and latest *** mathematical model is implemented in a prototypical construction project with all the estimated values taken as fuzzy *** findings suggest that different possible schedules and the fuzzy arithmetic provide more objective results in uncertain environments than the traditional *** proposed model allows for controlling the vagueness of the environment through the adjustment of the α-cut,adapting it to the specific circumstances of the project.

The IndyCar series distinguishes itself by providing the same design and operation of the single-seater to its *** difference in times is then attributable to the skills of the drivers,but considering the data from the races could test this *** objective of this work was to establish a trajectory model to predict race times.A cross-sectional,correlational,and explanatory work was carried out with a sample of 18,474 records in the period from 2020 to 2023 of the IndyCar *** results show that the time span predicts the time *** relation to the studies of acceptance of the technology,the adjustment of this to human capacities to explain the time differences in the series of racing cars is discussed.

In this work,Digital Twins based on Neural Networks for the steady state production of styrene were ***,both the Aspen Technology AI Model Builder(alternative 1)and a homemade Ms Excel vBA code connected to Aspen HYsYs and Aspen Plus(alternative 2)were used with this same *** raw data used for generating the Digital Twins were obtained from process simulations using Aspen HYsYs and/or Aspen Plus,which were connected through a recycle-like stream via automation for solving the entire simulation *** HYsYs was used for solving the pre-heating,reaction,and stabilization sections of the process whereas Aspen Plus ensured the computing of the separation and purification *** alternatives led to an excellent prediction showing the capability of creating Digital Twins from and for process simulation.

Adenomatous polyposis(AP)is classified according to cumulative adenoma number in classical AP(CAP)and attenuated AP(AAP).Genetic susceptibility is the major risk factor in CAP due to mutations in the known high predisposition genes APC and ***,the contribution of genetic susceptibility to AAP is lower and less *** predisposition genes have been recently proposed,and some of them have been validated,but their scarcity hinders accurate risk estimations and prevalence *** is a heterogeneous condition in terms of severity,clinical features and ***,clinicians do not have strong discriminating criteria for the recommendation of the genetic study of known predisposition genes,and the detection rate is *** and knowledge of new AAP high predisposition genes are of great importance to offer accurate genetic counseling to the patient and family *** review aims to update the genetic knowledge of AAP,and to expound the difficulties involved in the genetic analysis of a highly heterogeneous condition such as AAP.
