Improved performance of naringenin herbosomes over naringenin in streptozotocin- induced diabetic rats: In vitro and in vivo evaluation

Objective:To prepare naringenin herbosome and evaluate its antidiabetic ***:Herbosomes were prepared by the solvent evaporation *** vitro parameters like particle size,polydispersity index,zeta potential,and entrapment efficiency were estimated and in vitro diffusion study was *** in vivo studies were also performed in streptozotocin-induced diabetic male sprague Dawley rats to evaluate blood glucose,total cholesterol,triglyceride,blood urea nitrogen,total protein,albumin level,aspartate aminotransferase,and alanine aminotransferase ***:The optimized herbosome batch showed a particle size of 564.4 nm,a polydispersity index of 0.412,and zeta potential of−39.3 *** percentage entrapment of this formulation was 84.04%,with complete drug release within 8 *** of diabetic rats with naringenin herbosomes for 28 d significantly reduced the elevated level of plasma glucose as compared to plain *** biochemical parameters,the treatment showed a significant decrease in total cholesterol,triglyceride,and blood urea nitrogen;while elevated levels of aspartate aminotransferase and alanine aminotransferase were returned to *** naringenin and herbosome formulation at high dose increased the total protein whereas albumin level significantly increased in naringenin herbosomes at the highest dose but not in the pure naringenin treatment ***:Naringenin herbosomes could improve the metabolic profile of diabetic rats,indicating enhanced antidiabetic activity of herbosome formulation.

Emerging therapies based on localized delivery of siRNA to lungs have opened up exciting possibilities for treatment of different lung *** delivery of siRNA to lungs has shown to result in severalfold higher lung accumulation than systemic route,while minimizing non-specific distribution in other ***,to date,only 2 clinical trials have explored localized delivery of siRNA for pulmonary *** we systematically reviewed recent advances in the field of pulmonary delivery of siRNA using non-viral *** firstly introduce the routes of local administration and analyze the anatomical and physiological barriers towards effective local delivery of siRNA in *** then discuss current progress in pulmonary delivery of siRNA for respiratory tract infections,chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases,acute lung injury,and lung cancer,list outstanding questions,and highlight directions for future *** expect this review to provide a comprehensive understanding of current advances in pulmonary delivery of siRNA.

This study analyzes the relationship between savings,investment,and economic growth in Nepal over 1975–*** structural breaks in the variables have been accounted for using the(Zivot and Andrews’s,J Bus Econ stat 10:251–2701992)unit root test along with(Gregory and Hansen’s,Oxf Bull Econ stat 58:555–560,1996)cointegration *** ARDL approach to cointegration in the presence of structural breaks has also been utilized to analyze the long-and short-run dynamics of savings,investment,and growth in *** results show structural breaks in the real GDP per capita during 2001 when the Royal Massacre and a state of emergency have taken place in *** allowing for this structural break,evidence of a cointegration relationship amongst savings,investment,and economic growth was *** estimates of the ARDL approach suggest that investment has a significant and positive impact on economic ***,gross domestic savings have a negative impact on growth in the long *** results clearly show weaknesses of the economy in mobilizing savings into productive sectors.

Roads are the most critical means of connectivity in Himalayan ***,the terrain is inherently fragile with varied geological,geomorphological,ecological,and climate regimes,that result in frequent slope failure and disruption in *** risk is further to be increased by extreme events-generated hazards,which are expected to rise in frequency and magnitude with ongoing intervention,however,can improve the sustainability of road *** present study attempts to analyse and quantify the impacts of a major road widening project initiated in 2018 in the upper Ganga catchment,Uttarakhand Himalaya which has destabilised valley slopes along the widened ***,a large quantity of excavated sediments is dumped down slopes,which is posing a threat to aquatic *** estimates are based on Google Earth imagery of a few representative road segments recently widened in the upper Ganga catchment,which indicate a substantial increase in the landslide and unstable slope area following the road *** increase in unstable slope area is attributed to improper road widening approaches and poor slope management in seismically active Himalayan ***,the mean velocity plots of Persistent scatterer Interferometric synthetic Aperture Radar(PsInsAR)indicate that the segments undergoing road widening are coherent with areas of significant earth surface change.A broad correlation between the road width and sediment yield indicates that even a slight increase in road width can result in a large-scale mass removal from the toe of the hillslope,inflicting cascading impact on *** study recommends a more flexible road construction approach based on the environmental and geological aspects of the terrain for sustainable road ***,the impact of climate change is looming over the Himalayas,and the relation between climate change and its potential effects on the stability of slopes remains an open issue.

socio-Economic and scientific Impact Created by Whitefly-Transmitted,Plant-Virus Disease Resistant Tomato Varieties in southern India

Research carried out to assess the impact of open-pollinated Tomato leaf curl virus（ToLCV）-resistant tomatoes and hybrids on the livelihoods of resource-poor farmers in southern India is described and *** high-yielding ToLCV-resistant tomato varieties were developed initially using conventional breeding and screening techniques involving inoculation by ToLCV-viruliferous whitefly,Bemisia *** 2003 and 2004,respectively,these varieties were released officially by the Karnataka state seed Committee and the Indian Ministry of Agriculture through notification in the Gazette of *** 2003 to 2005,eleven seed companies bought breeder seed of the ToLCV-resistant varieties and used them to begin breeding F1 hybrids from ***-economic studies carried out to assess the benefits obtained from growing the ToLCV-resistant varieties found that farmers could gain up to 10 times the profit by growing the ToLCV-resistant varieties compared to the pre-existing ToLCV-susceptible *** of ToLCV-resistant tomatoes was also associated with reduced pesticide *** income from tomato sales was prioritised by farmers to pay for children＇s education,better nutrition and *** a joint effort with the commercial seed sector in India,a promotional field day was organised in *** well as the three ToLCV-resistant varieties,62 ToLCV-resistant hybrid tomatoes were exhibited during a farmer-field day by 17 commercial seed companies and several public *** with ToLCV-resistance are now grown widely in south India and seeds of the three open-pollinated varieties have been distributed to more than 12 *** 2007,a conservative estimate of the financial-benefit to cost of the research ratio was already more than 837：1.

A multiwavelength view of a classical T Tauri star CV Cha

Using long-term optical, ultraviolet(UV) and X-ray data, we present a study of a classical T Tauri star CV Cha. The V-band light curve obtained from the All sky Automated survey(AsAs) shows short as well as long-term variability. The short-term variability could be due to rotational modulation of CV Cha. We derive the rotational period of 3.714 ± 0.001 d for CV Cha. UV light curves obtained from swift also show the variations. X-ray light curves from XMM-Newton and swift do not show any significant short as well as long-term variability. However, the light curve from Chandra appears to be variable, which could be due to the emergence of flaring activities. X-ray spectra from all observations are explained well by the single temperature plasma of 0.95 keV with X-ray luminosity of 1030.4erg s-1in the 0.5–7.5 keV energy band. It appears that variability in optical and UV bands could be due to the presence of both hot and cool spots on the surface, while X-ray emission is dominated by magnetic processes.

Roles of syndecan-1, bcl6 and p53 in diagnosis and prognostication of immunoproliferative small intestinal disease

AIM： To evaluate roles of syndecan-1, bcl6 and p53 in diagnosis and prognostication of immunoproliferative small intestinal disease （IPsID） and to study profiles of kappa （κ） and lambda （λ） light chains and IgA heavy chain. METHODs： The study consisted of 11 cases of IPsID and similar number of controls which included 11 of normal intestinal mucosa and 11 of high grade B cell lymphoma of ileum. The parameters analyzed included clinical profiles, biochemical and other laboratory investigations, radiologic and histological findings including immunohistochemistry. REsULTs： All IPsID cases had demonstrable serum IgA heavy chain and heavy mucosal plasma cell infiltration. According to Galian＇s histological staging, there were 4 patients with stage A and 7 with stage B. κ and ;λ light chains were over-expressed in 7 patients; 1 stage A patient had H pylori-positive active gastritis and eradication of H pylori led to disease remission. stage A biopsies had higher expression for syndecan-1, while stage B had higher expression for bcl6 and p53. syndecan-1,κ and λ light chains and IgA heavy chain showed inverse relationship with bcl6 and p53. All patients were treated with doxycycline. CHOP regime was added in 5 patients who developed frank lymphoma. Three died of the disease due to extensive organ infiltration. CONCLUsION： Certain immunomarkers like syndecan-1,κ and λ light chains and IgA heavy chain could be of much help in identifying early stage IPsID. stage B IPsID showed higher expression for bcl6 and p53 than stage A IPsID. bcl6 and p53 expressions correlated with a more advanced disease stage and aggressive tumour behavior.

Incidence and management of white grub, schizonycha ruficollis on seedlings of teak （Tectona grandis Linn, f,）

In investigation was conducted annually from 2002 to 2005 between the second week of May and the end of september on the incidence of scarab beetle, schizonycha ruficollis （Fabricius） in a teak （Tectona grandis L.f.） nursery at Ramdongari, Nagpur, India. The immature stages, that is white grubs of the scarab beetle damaged 14%-52% of teak seedlings in the nursery beds, whereas the adult of the species, that is scarab beetles, were recorded on three new host trees （ Ziziphus xylopyra, Acacia catechu and A. leucophloea） in addition to the reported hosts such as ziziphus （Z. jujuba and Z. mauritiana）. Beetles of the s. ruficollis started emerging from the nursery beds just after the pre-monsoon showers and continued for 10-18 days. While beetle of s. ruficollis defoliated tree hosts available in the surroundings, the immature stages of the beetle caused major damage by feeding on root systerfls of teak seedlings with symptoms of wilting and mortality in forest nursery beds. The result of chemical and biological treatments for the management of grubs of s. ruficollis in nursery beds indicated phorate 10% granular at the rate of 20 g/m^2 and chlorpyriphos 20% emulsifiable concentrate at the rate of 5.0 mL/m^2 to be effective. Grubs of s. ruficollis have not been recorded previously as a major pest of teak （T. grandis）. This is also the first report on occurrence of s. ruficollis adults on tree hosts such as Z. xylopyra, A. catechu and A. leucophloea. White grubs being pests of economic importance and the toughest insects to manage, information given in this paper on incidence, pest status and management of schizonycha ruficollis is of importance to researchers and forest nursery managers.
