Epigenetics is the study of phenotypic variations that do not alter DNA *** epigenetics has grown rapidly over the past few years as epigenetic alterations exist in all human *** of these alterations is DNA methylation;an epigenetic process that regulates gene expression and often occurs at tumor suppressor gene loci in ***,studying this methylation process may shed light on different gene functions that cannot otherwise be interpreted using the changes that occur in DNA ***,microarray technologies;such as Illumina Infinium BeadChip assays;are used to study DNA methylation at an extremely large number of varying *** each DNA methylation site,a beta value(β)is used to reflect the methylation ***,clustering this data from various types of cancers may lead to the discovery of large partitions that can help objectively classify different types of cancers aswell as identify the relevant loci without user *** study proposed a Nested Big Data Clustering Genetic Algorithm(NBDC-GA);a novel evolutionary metaheuristic technique that can perform cluster-based feature selection based on the DNA methylation *** efficacy of the NBDC-GA was tested using real-world data sets retrieved from The Cancer Genome Atlas(TCGA);a cancer genomics program created by the NationalCancer Institute(NCI)and the NationalHuman Genome Research *** performance of the NBDC-GA was then compared with that of a recently developed metaheuristic Immuno-Genetic Algorithm(IGA)that was tested using the same data *** NBDC-GA outperformed the IGA in terms of convergence ***,the NBDC-GA produced a more robust clustering configuration while simultaneously decreasing the dimensionality of features to a maximumof 67%and of 94.5%for individual cancer type and collective cancer,*** proposed NBDC-GA was also able to identify two chromosomes with highly contrastingDNAmethylations activities th

DTLM-DBP:Deep Transfer Learning Models for DNA Binding Proteins Identification

The identification of DNA binding proteins(DNABPs)is considered a major challenge in genome annotation because they are linked to several important applied and research applications of cellular functions e.g.,in the study of the biological,biophysical,and biochemical effects of antibiotics,drugs,and steroids on *** paper presents an efficient approach for DNABPs identification based on deep transfer learning,named“DTLM-DBP.”Two transfer learning methods are used in the identification *** first is based on the pre-trained deep learning model as a feature’s extractor and *** different pre-trained Convolutional Neural Networks(CNN),AlexNet 8 and VGG 16,are tested and *** second method uses the deep learning model as a feature’s extractor only and two different classifiers for the identification *** classifiers,Support Vector Machine(SVM)and Random Forest(RF),are tested and *** proposed approach is tested using different DNA proteins *** performance of the identification process is evaluated in terms of identification accuracy,sensitivity,specificity and MCC,with four available DNA proteins datasets:PDB1075,PDB186,PDNA-543,and *** results show that the RF classifier,with VGG-Net pre-trained deep transfer learning features,gives the highest ***-DBP was compared with other published methods and it provides a considerable improvement in the performance of DNABPs identification.

DPT‐tracker:Dual pooling transformer for efficient visual tracking

Transformer tracking always takes paired template and search images as encoder input and conduct feature extraction and target‐search feature correlation by self and/or cross attention operations,thus the model complexity will grow quadratically with the number of input *** alleviate the burden of this tracking paradigm and facilitate practical deployment of Transformer‐based trackers,we propose a dual pooling transformer tracking framework,dubbed as DPT,which consists of three components:a simple yet efficient spatiotemporal attention model(SAM),a mutual correlation pooling Trans-former(MCPT)and a multiscale aggregation pooling Transformer(MAPT).SAM is designed to gracefully aggregates temporal dynamics and spatial appearance information of multi‐frame templates along space‐time *** aims to capture multi‐scale pooled and correlated contextual features,which is followed by MAPT that aggregates multi‐scale features into a unified feature representation for tracking *** tracker achieves AUC score of 69.5 on LaSOT and precision score of 82.8 on Track-ingNet while maintaining a shorter sequence length of attention tokens,fewer parameters and FLOPs compared to existing state‐of‐the‐art(SOTA)Transformer tracking *** experiments demonstrate that DPT tracker yields a strong real‐time tracking baseline with a good trade‐off between tracking performance and inference efficiency.

Dairy farm management is crucial to maintain the longevity of the farm,and poor dairy youngstock or calf management could lead to gradually deteriorating calf health,which often causes premature *** was found to be the most neglected part among the management workflows in Malaysia and has caused continuous loss over the recent *** posture recognition is one of the effective methods to monitor calf behaviour and health state,which can be achieved by monitoring the calf behaviours of standing and lying where the former depicts active calf,and the latter,passive *** posture recognition module is an important component of some automated calf monitoring systems,as the system requires the calf to be in a standing posture before proceeding to the next stage of monitoring,or at the very least,to monitor the activeness of the *** posture such as standing or resting can easily be distinguished by human eye,however,to be recognized by a machine,it will require more complicated frameworks,particularly one that involves a deep learning neural networks *** number of highquality images are required to train a deep learning model for such *** this paper,multiple ConvolutionalNeuralNetwork(CNN)architectures were compared,and the residual network(ResNet)model(specifically,ResNet-50)was ultimately chosen due to its simplicity,great performance,and decent inference *** ResNet-50 models having the exact same architecture and configuration have been trained on two different image datasets respectively sourced by separate cameras placed at different *** were two camera placements to use for comparison because camera placements can significantly impact the quality of the images,which is highly correlated to the deep learning model *** model training,the performance for both CNN models were 99.7%and 99.99%accuracies,respectively,and is adequate for a real-time calf monitoring system.

Urban waterfront development had been a global trend in many cities around the world,not only in big cities but also medium-sized cities,and even small *** planning is very influential for the urban development on the water's edge,proven by many cities that have improved their waterfront area with good utilization in order to create attractive public *** is one of famous cities in China that has an excellent waterfront development along Huangpu *** river has transferred from industrial basis of shipping and manufacturing to a place with finance,trade,and tourism at the core of its ***,the significant different condition come from the city undergoing to waterfront oriented and still less improvement in its *** on the most western tip of Sumatera Island in Indonesia,the riverbank area along Krueng Aceh River in Banda Aceh has enormous potential to be developed as Waterfront City(WFC)*** unfortunately,there is still lack of its utilization as waterfront's public ***,this research contributes to investigate waterfront planning in a small city by presenting an objective study from Krueng Aceh River in Banda *** also examines a waterfront area at Xuhui Waterfront(Shanghai West Bund)on Huangpu River in Shanghai-China as case *** method provides a new insight in order to solve a complex issue and different level between case study and objective study,where Huangpu River has high quality improvement on waterfront development,whereas Krueng Aceh River needs more *** that aims to equalize each other in way to learn from the most excellence implementation to open new opportunities to be applied immediately on Aceh's waterfront as well as Shanghai's waterfront.
