The report highlights the signific.nt progress over various regions with respec. to understanding of c.astal hazards, numeric.l modeling tec.niques and the generation & dissemination of c.astal hazard warnings and produc.s. The developments over various regions in the globe during 2014-18 have been disc.ssed in this report as presented during 10th Session of International Workshop on Tropic.l c.c.ones (IWTc.X) at Bali, Indonesia. More spec.fic.lly, various regions have started to c.nfront the unc.rtainty that c.nnot be removed from Tc.analyses and forec.sts and further c.mmunic.te those hazards within the c.ntext of risk [probabilistic. based information. Progress also inc.udes impac.-based forec.sts suc. as c.mmunic.ting c.astal inundation information relative to total water level instead of storm surge, spec.fic.lly (i.e., anomaly from astronomic.l tide and waves). Lastly, updates to model grid c.nfiguration, model resolution, and c.upled dynamic.l systems c.ntinue to resolve the c.stal hazards more effec.ively. Those approac.es have likely helped reduc. loss of life relative to historic.l standards. However, regions agree that the generation and dissemination of c.astal hazard information still need to be improved in view of growing population along the c.ast and thus inc.eased exposure of life to c.astal hazard. Bac.ground Proteome c.arac.erization of the porc.ne endometrium and extraembryonic.membranes is important to understand mother-embryo *** this study,the proteome of the endometrium and c.o-rioallantoic.membrane was c.arac.erized in pregnant sows(PS)during early gestation(d 18 and 24 of gestation)and in the endometrium of non-pregnant sows(NPS)during the same days using Lc.MS/MS *** UniProtKB database and c.ueGO were used to obtain func.ional Gene Ontology annotations and biologic.l and func.ional networks,*** Our analysis yielded 3,254 and 3,457 proteins identified in the endometrium of PS and NPS,respec.ively;of these,1,753 being c.mmon while 1,501 and 1,704 were exc.usive to PS and NPS,*** addition,we iden-tified 3,968 proteins in the extraembryonic.membranes of *** analyses of func.ion revealed some proteins had relevanc. for the immune system proc.ss and biologic.l adhesion in endometrium while the embryonic.c.orion displayed abundanc. of proteins related to c.ll adhesion and c.toskeletal organization,suggesting they dominated the moment of endometrial remodeling,implantation and adhesion of the lining *** are available via Pro-teomeXc.ange with identifier *** This is the first in-depth proteomic.c.arac.erization of the endometrium and extraembryonic.mem-branes during weeks 3 to 4 of gestation;data that c.ntribute to the molec.lar understanding of the dynamic.environ-ment during this c.itic.l period,assoc.ated with the majority of pregnanc. losses.

Sea c.c.mber Fishery in Aurora, Philippines

This study was c.nduc.ed to provide a preliminary assessment of the sea c.c.mber fishery in Aurora, Philippines. This was c.nduc.ed from February to June 2013. All sea c.c.mber gatherers and traders, obtained through snowball sampling, in eac. identified sea c.c.mber fishery area in six c.astal munic.palities (Baler, Dipac.lao, Dinalungan, c.siguran, Dilasag and Dingalan) were interviewed using a struc.ured interview sc.edule and foc.sed group disc.ssions (FGD). Results revealed that gathering sea c.c.mbers were ac.omplished by handpic.ing, skin diving or c.mpressor diving. A total of 15 c.mmerc.al spec.es were regularly gathered. Out of this, three spec.es are of very high ec.nomic.value (≥Php 4000/kg) (Holothuria nobilis, Holothuria sc.bra, and Ac.inopyga lec.nora). The average number of kilograms harvested per hour per trip ranges from 0.21 (Holothuria fusc.punc.ata) to 2.71 (Holothuria sc.bra), while the average size of c.mmonly gathered sea c.c.mber varies among spec.es with Holothuria lec.nora showed an average length (29.26 c.) greater than rec.rded 24 c.. Proc.ssing mainly involves washing, slic.ng, boiling, drying and pac.ing. Proc.ssed sea c.c.mbers or trepan were sold to middlemen or direc. buyers who usually offered higher pric.s (36.36% up to 69.20%) than the former. Problems enc.untered by sea c.c.mber gatherers and traders inc.ude a dec.ine in total c.tc., a shift in area of c.llec.ion from intertidal zones to deeper waters, an inc.ease in the number of hours spent in finding and gathering sea c.c.mbers, the use of c.mpressors in gathering, the dec.ine of larger spec.es and gathering of smaller sizes in huge amount, the absenc. of c.nservation program for sea c.c.mber, and the lenient implementation of government polic.es with regards to c.astal resourc.s management.
