This review attempted a detailed description of geological and hydrogeological configurations of Cross River and Imo-Akwa Ibo *** presented a synthesis of hydrochemistry and a description of the hydrogeological configurations of the two ***,most areas under Cross River and Imo-Kwa-Ibo are poor in terms of groundwater *** on the hydrochemistry,the basins hold water of excellent *** sources fall in soft to moderately hard *** entire sources groundwater has a TDS concentration of less than 500 mg/*** classification based on electrical conductivity(EC)showed EC levels were less than 500μS/*** of the examined cations and anions are within WHO reference guidelines for drinking water ***,no broad analysis of water quality based on water quality ***,studies modeling pollution or the impact of land use changes on groundwater quality are ***,further analysis of the hydrochemistry of groundwater aquifers is recommended.

This review presented a detailed re-assessment of the hydrogeology and hydrochemistry of the Tropical Anambra *** identified and discussed the major geological formations and their groundwater *** geological examination showed that the Ajali Formation is confined in places forming an artesian condition;the potentials of this aquifer decline in the western basin due to a decrease in *** sandstone associates of the Nsukka Formation are aquiferous and have produced high-pressure artesian boreholes along the Oji *** Imo Shale is characterized by permeability stability all over much of the intermediate *** Bende-Ameki aquifer has a lesser amount of groundwater when equated to other formations;the geologic characteristics do not produce favorable hydrogeological conditions for groundwater *** stratigraphical and structural framework suggested the presence of an efficient throughflow in the *** on physical and chemical parameters of water quality,the basin holds water of acceptable *** there are considerable investigations on the hydrogeology and hydrochemistry,studies are short of analysis of the hydrogeochemical evolution of groundwater,water quality index,heavy metals pollution index as well as total hazard *** of groundwater based on agricultural water quality indices(***)is also ***,future studies should address these owing to increasing dependence on groundwater.

The most common supply of freshwater for drinking,irrigation,and other domestic uses is groundwater;however,because of increased radon concentrations brought on by mining activities,its quality is still a severe *** a liquid scintillation detector,this study investigated the radon content,its related toxicity,and its risk to human health in the groundwater of the Keana in Nasarawa,***(10)borehole samples and five(5)well samples totaling fifteen(15)groundwater samples were *** results showed that the average radon concentration in water samples from Keana was 2.25 Bq/*** mean annual effective dosage(ingestion)for adults and children in Keana was 0.016 mSv/y and 0.027 mSv/y,*** Keana,the additional lifetime cancer risk per adult was 5.65×10^(-5),and per child,it was 8.79×10^(-5).The study’s radon concentration was lower than the benchmark of 11.1 Bq/L established in 1991 by the Nigerian Standard Organization and the US Environmental Protection *** results of this study indicate that the level of radon is safe;as a result,people can continue farming and other *** reduce the risk of cancer,however,more research could be done in the *** research should be done by looking at additional sources in the study area in order to cover the entire *** investigation should be carried out both during the dry and wet seasons because radon concentrations in groundwater alter over time due to dilution by recharge from rainfall.

Understanding the hydrochemical and hydrogeological physiognomies of subsurface water in a semi-arid region is important for the effective management of water *** paper presents a thorough review of the hydrogeology and hydrochemistry of the Hadejia-Yobe *** hydrochemical and hydrogeological configurations as reviewed indicated that the Chad Formation is the prolific aquifer in the *** piercing the Gundumi formation have a depth ranging from 20-85 *** hydrochemical composition of groundwater revealed water of excellent quality,as all the studied parameters were found to have concentrations within WHO and Nigeria’s standard for drinking water ***,further studies are required for further evaluation of water quality index,heavy metal pollution index,and irrigation water ***,geochemical,and stable isotope analysis is required for understanding the provenance of salinity and hydrogeochemical controls on groundwater in the basin.

The present pandemic has posed a crisis to the economy of the world and the health ***,the race to expand research to understand some good molecular targets for vaccine and therapeutic development for SARS-CoV-2 is *** newly discovered coronavirus 2019(COVID-19)is a positive sense,single-stranded RNA,and enveloped virus,assigned to the beta CoV *** virus(SARS-CoV-2)is more infectious than the previously detected coronaviruses(MERS and SARS).Findings from many studies have revealed that S protein and RdRp are good targets for drug repositioning,novel therapeutic development(antibodies and small molecule drugs),and vaccine *** such as chloroquine,convalescent plasma,monoclonal antibodies,spike binding peptides,and small molecules could alter the ability of S protein to bind to the ACE-2 receptor,and drugs such as remdesivir(targeting SARS-CoV-2 RdRp),favipir,and emetine could prevent SASR-CoV-2 RNA *** novel vaccines such as mRNA1273(Moderna),3LNP-mRNAs(Pfizer/BioNTech),and ChAdOx1-S(University of Oxford/Astra Zeneca)targeting S protein have proven to be effective in combating the present *** exploration of the potential of S protein and RdRp is crucial in fighting the present pandemic.

Environmental issues linked to climate change and global warming have been at the centre stage of discussion all over the world, considering their magnitude and the broader scope of consequences. These catastrophic effects of greenhouse gases (GHG) such as CO2, CO, water vapour, nitrous oxides, ozone, coupled with other artificially induced chemicals like CFCs have shifted weather patterns across the globe, thereby threatening the environment unpleasantly. However, the effects of climate changes are more pronounced in Nigeria, due to an unprecedented utilization of fossil-based fuels as the main energy source for electricity, transportation, industrial, agricultural, and domestic purposes. As a result, air pollution and land spills by oil led to the destruction of agricultural land and increasing heatwaves were left behind. Consequently, these impacted negatively on the ecosystem by intimidating the environment, counteracting biodiversity, decelerating economy and provoking human comfort, while simultaneously antagonizing socio-economic growth and sustainable developments. Thus, an urgent need for the Nigerian government to redirect from fossil fuels to renewables and intensify the campaign for afforestation to support green conservation of biodiversity. These are considered plausible measures for remediating the lingering energy failure and ravaging effects
