Marine ecosystems provide a wide variety of diverse habitats that frequently promote migration and ecological *** extent to which the geographic distribution of marine organism has reshaped by human activities remains *** limitations intrinsic to morphology-based identification systems have engendered an urgent need for reliable genetic methods that enable the unequivocal recognition of fish species,particularly those that are prone to overexploitation and/or market *** the present study,however,an attempt has been taken to identify two locally adapted fish species,Siganus sutor(Valenciennes,1835)and Seriolina nigrofasciata(rüppell,1829)of order Perciformes,which happens to be the first record in Odisha coast,Bay of *** diagnostic characteristics of Siganus sutor are:dorsal fin XIII-10,anal fin VII-9,pectoral fin 15,pelvic fin II-3,while that of Seriolina nigrofasciata dorsal fin VI-I-35,anal fin I-17,pectoral fin 16,pelvic fin *** COI barcodes generated in this study were matched with reference sequences of expected species,according to morphological *** and likelihood phylogenetic trees were drawn based on DNA barcodes and all the specimens clustered in agreement with their taxonomic classification at the species *** phylogeographic studies based on haplotype network and migration rates suggest that both the species were not panmitic and the high-frequency population distribution indicates successful *** result of this study provides an important validation of the use of DNA barcode sequences for monitoring species diversity and changes within a complex marine ecosystem.

Wireless Body Area Network(WBAN)is a cutting-edge technology that is being used in healthcare applications to monitor critical events in the human *** is a collection of in-body and on-body sensors that monitor human physical parameters such as temperature,blood pressure,pulse rate,oxygen level,body motion,and so *** sense the data and communicate it to the Body Area Network(BAN)*** main challenge for the WBAN is energy *** issues can be addressed by implementing an effective Medium Access Control(MAC)protocol that reduces energy consumption and increases network *** purpose of the study is to minimize the energy consumption and minimize the delay using IEEE 802.15.4 *** our proposed work,if any critical events have occurred the proposed work is to classify and prioritize the *** gave priority to the highly critical data to get the Guarantee Tine Slots(GTS)in IEEE 802.15.4 standard superframe to achieve greater energy *** proposed MAC provides higher data rates for critical data based on the history and current condition and also provides the best reliable service to high critical data and critical data by predicting node *** an outcome,we proposed a MAC protocol for Variable Data rates(MVDr).When compared to existing MAC protocols,the MVDr performed very well with low energy intake,less interruption,and an enhanced packet-sharing ratio.

Brain targeted delivery of paclitaxel using endogenous ligand

The objective of the present investigation was to formulate nanoparticles constructed using PLGA polymer for the effective targeted delivery to brain via nasal route. The PLGA nanoparticles were optimized using novel design of experiment technique by 23 full factorial design. Drug: polymer ratio（X1）, surfactant concentration（X2） and stirring speed（X3） were identified as critical process parameters, and its impact on particle size（Y1） and % entrapment efficiency（Y2） was studied. The optimized nanoparticle formulation was conjugated with glutathione as an endogenous ligand by using carbodiimide chemistry using(1-Ethyl-3-（3-dimethylaminopropyl）carbodiimide)（EDAC） as linker molecule. From Ellman's assay,it was found that a total of 691.27 ± 151 units of glutathione were conjugated upon each PLGA nanoparticle. The in vitro release studies as well as ex vivo studies revealed biphasic pattern of drug release with initial burst release followed by slow exponential release of drug over a period of 24 h. The in vivo biodistribution studies were conducted on rat following nasal administration of the nanoparticle formulation（conjugated and unconjugated）and were compared with plain paclitaxel suspension. The results clearly demonstrated that the brain targeting efficiency was enhanced with the glutathione conjugated formulation（387.474%） as compared to the unconjugated nanoparticle formulation（224.327%）. Further,the in vitro in vivo correlation studies revealed good relationship（r2> 0.95） as obtained from the levy plot. Glutathione proves to be an efficient vector for the successful transport of poor bioavailable drug to the brain.

Impact of Social Media Challenges on Pediatric Single-Use Detergent Sacs and Diphenhydramine Ingestions reported to United States Poison Control Centers

Background: Social media platforms are popular among children and often feature challenges that become viral. Notably, the Tide Pod® and Benadryl® challenges encouraged viewers to ingest these substances for their visual appeal and hallucinogenic effects, respectively. This study aimed to assess the clinical impact and outcomes of single-use detergent sacs (SUDS) and diphenhydramine challenges on pediatric ingestions reported to United States (U.S.) Poison Control Centers (PCCs). Methods: We conducted a retrospective review of pediatric exposures reported to U.S. PCCs using data from the National Poison Data System (NPDS). The study included intentional single-substance ingestions of both brand-name and generic forms of SUDS and diphenhydramine among children ≤ 19 years. We compared the number of calls, clinical effects, disposition, and management strategies for SUDS (pre: 01/01/17 to 12/31/17 vs. post: 01/01/18 to 12/31/18) and diphenhydramine (pre: 08/01/19 to 07/31/20 vs. post: 08/01/20 to 07/31/21) ingestions 12 months before and after the introduction of the respective social media challenges. Differences in proportions were compared using the Chi-square test. results: During the study period, 469 ingestions of SUDS and 5,702 ingestions of diphenhydramine were reported. Post-challenge periods saw an increase in both SUDS (pre: 82 vs. post: 387;372% increase) and diphenhydramine ingestions (pre: 2,672 vs. post: 3,030;13% increase). While there were no significant changes in moderate or major clinical outcomes, hospitalizations increased post-challenge for both SUDS [pre: 4 (4.9%) vs. post: 33 (8.5%);p = 0.25] and diphenhydramine [pre: n = 904 (33.8%) vs. post: 1,190 (39.3%);p Conclusion: Pediatric ingestions reported to U.S. PCCs and hospitalizations increased coinciding with the introduction of Tide Pod® and Benadryl® challenges. Probabilistic Analysis of Slope Using Finite Element Approach and Limit Equilibrium Approach around Amalpata Landslide of West Central, Nepal

The stability study of the ongoing and recurring Amalpata landslide in Baglung in Nepal’s Gandaki Province is presented in this research. The impacted slope is around 200 meters high, with two terraces that have different slope inclinations. The lower bench, located above the basement, consistently fails and sets others up for failure. The fluctuating water level of the slope, which travels down the slope masses, exacerbates the slide problem. The majority of these rocks are Amalpata landslide area experiences several structural disruptions. The area’s stability must be evaluated in order to prevent and control more harm from occurring to the nearby agricultural land and people living along the slope. The slopes’ failures increase the damages of house existing in nearby area and the erosion of the slope. Two modeling techniques the finite element approach and the limit equilibrium method were used to simulate the slope. The findings show that, in every case, the terrace above the basement is where the majority of the stress is concentrated, with a safety factor of near unity. Using probabilistic slope stability analysis, the failure probability was predicted to be between 98.90% and 100%.
