Surface activation of viscose textiles via air,argon,and oxygen dielectric barrier discharge plasma:influence of peak voltage

This paper discusses the use of atmospheric pressure dielectric barrier discharge(DBD)plasma treatment to enhance the surface qualities of viscose *** study explores the effects of different plasma gases,discharge voltages,and exposure times on the treated *** findings emphasize the importance of optimizing the plasma's peak voltage to achieve the desired surface treatment *** document also presents data on colour strength,wettability,colour fastness,and tensile strength of the treated fabrics,as well as scanning electron microscopy(SEm)analysis of surface morphology and chemical analysis using fouriertransition infrared spectroscopy(FTIR)and energy dispersive X-ray(EDX).The results show that treatment at a peak voltage of 11.83 k V is more efficient,except for the tensile strength which is enhanced at a peak voltage of 8.92 k *** oxygen plasma treatment significantly improves the colour strength,which exhibits an increase from 11 to *** intensified colour was attributed to the significant influence of electrostatic interactions between the charged hydroxyl groups of the oxygen plasma treated viscose textiles and the dye molecules,which enhance the *** oxygen DBD plasma exhibits a higher ability to enhance the properties of textiles when compared to air and argon *** study presents a sustainable,economical,secure,and ecologically friendly approach to explore new fabrics for specific uses.

The human pose paradigm is estimated using a transformer-based multi-branch multidimensional directed the three-dimensional(3D)method that takes into account self-occlusion,badly posedness,and a lack of depth data in the per-frame 3D posture estimation from two-dimensional(2D)mapping to 3D ***,by examining the relationship between the movements of different bones in the human body,four virtual skeletons are proposed to enhance the cyclic constraints of limb ***,multiple parameters describing the skeleton are fused and projected into a high-dimensional *** a multi-branch network,motion features between bones and overall motion features are extracted to mitigate the drift error in the estimation ***,the estimated relative depth is projected into 3D space,and the error is calculated against real 3D data,forming a loss function along with the relative depth *** article adopts the average joint pixel error as the primary performance *** to the benchmark approach,the estimation findings indicate an increase in average precision of 1.8 mm within the Human3.6m sample.

Colonoscopy is an integral part of the lower bowel care and is generally considered a potentially safe diagnostic and therapeutic procedure performed as a daycare outpatient *** is associated with different complications that are not limited to adverse events related to the bowel preparation solutions used,the sedatives used,but to the procedure related as well including bleeding and *** to the extra-luminal abdominal organs during colonoscopy are uncommon,however,serious complications related to the procedure have been reported infrequently in the *** threatening injuries to the spleen,liver,pancreas,mesentery,and urinary bladder have been reported as early as in *** injuries should not be overlooked by clinicians and *** increasing abdominal pain,abdominal distension,and hemodynamic instability in absence of rectal bleeding should raise the possibility of severe organ *** and hepatic injury following colonoscopy are usually serious and may be life *** conservative management may help,yet they usually need interventional radiology or surgical *** pancreatitis following colonoscopy is usually mild and is mostly managed *** mechanism of abdominal organ injuries during colonoscopy is not fully understood,however many risk factors have been identified,which can be classified as-organ related,procedure related,and local abdominal *** colonoscopy and prior intra-abdominal adhesions are probably the most relevant risk factors for these *** lateral position,avoidance of looping and excessive force during the procedure would probably reduce the risk of such injuries.

Applications of synchrophasor technologies in power systems

Synchrophasors are time-synchronized electrical measurements that represent both the magnitude and phase angle of the electrical sinusoids. Synchrophasors are measured by fast time-stamped devices called phasor measurement units(PmUs) to constitute the basis of realtime monitoring and control actions in the electric *** to its enhanced situational awareness capabilities,many applications of PmUs are presented in the literature in the past decades. This paper presents a comprehensive summary of synchrophasor technology, its architecture,optimal placement techniques and its applications in electric power transmission and distribution systems. These applications include wide-area situational awareness and monitoring, state estimation, fault location and protective relaying, islanding detection etc. This review also covers some of the existing challenges in its implementation and its potential applications.

Coping with handover effects in video streaming over cellular networks

The 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) has defined the protocols and codecs for implementing media streaming services over packet-switched 3G mobile networks. The specification is based on IETF RFCs on audio/video *** also adds new features to achieve better adaptation to the mobile network environment. In this paper, we propose an algorithm for handover detection and fast buffer refill that is based on the existing feedback and signaling mechanisms. The proposed algorithm refills the receiver buffer at a faster pace during a limited time frame after a hard handover is detected in order to achieve higher video quality.

A new approach for accurate determination of particle sizes in microfluidic impedance cytometry

In microfluidic impedance cytometry,the change in impedance is recorded as an individual cell passes through a channel between electrodes deposited on its walls,and the particle size is inferred from the amplitude of the impedance signal using ***,because the current density is nonuniform between electrodes of finite width,there could be an error in the particle size measurement because of uncertainty about the location of the particle in the channel cross ***,a correlation is developed relating the particle size to the signal amplitude and the velocity of the particle through the *** latter is inferred from the time interval between the two extrema in the impedance curve as the particle passes through a channel with cross-sectional dimensions of 50μm(width)×30μm(height)with two pairs of parallel facing *** change in impedance is predicted using 3D COmSOL finite-element simulations,and a theoretical correlation that is independent of particle size is formulated to correct the particle diameter for variations in the cross-sectional *** this correlation,the standard deviation in the experimental data is reduced by a factor of two to close to the standard deviation reported in the manufacturer specifications.

Porcine epidemic diarrhea virus(PEDV)is the main cause of diarrhea,vomiting,and mortality in pigs,which results in devastating economic loss to the pig industry around the *** recent years,the advent of RNAsequencing technologies has led to delineate host responses at late stages of PEDV infection;however,the comparative analysis of host responses to early-stage infection of virulent and avirulent PEDV strains is currently ***,using the BGI DNBSEQ RNA-sequencing,we performed global gene expression profiles of pig intestinal epithelial cells infected with virulent(GDS01)or avirulent(HX)PEDV strains for 3,6,and 12 *** was observed that over half of all significantly dysregulated genes in both infection groups exhibited a down-regulated expression *** enrichment analyses indicated that the differentially expressed genes(DEGs)in the GDS01 group were predominantly related to autophagy and apoptosis,whereas the genes showing the differential expression in the HX group were strongly enriched in immune responses/*** the DEGs,the functional association of TLR3 and IFIT2 genes with the HX and GDS01 strains replication was experimentally validated by TLR3 inhibition and IFIT2 overexpression systems in cultured ***3 expression was found to inhibit HX strain,but not GDS01 strain,replication by enhancing the IFIT2 expression in infected *** conclusion,our study highlights similarities and differences in gene expression patterns and cellular processes/pathways altered at the early-stage infection of PEDV virulent and avirulent *** findings may provide a foundation for establishing novel therapies to control PEDV infection.

Ultraviolet Protection, Flame Retardancy and Antibacterial Properties of Treated Polyester Fabric Using Plasma-Nano Technology

Nanotechnology provides the ability to engineer the properties of materials. The possibility of using dielectric barrier discharge (DBD) air plasma treatment for fibre surface activation to facilitate deposition of aluminum oxide (Al2O3), nano-silver (Ag) and nano-titanium dioxide (TiO2) onto polyester fabric is investigated. It is aimed to study the possibility of engineering the multifunctional of polyester fabric. The treated fabric is evaluated through measuring the whiteness index (WI), wettability, surface roughness, surface morphology, flame retardancy, ultraviolet protection factor (UPF), thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA), antibacterial activity, mechanical properties, and coloration behavior as well as fastness properties. Scan electron microscopy (SEm) and transmission electron microscopy (TEm) graphs show deposition of Al2O3 and nano particles (NPs) of TiO2 and Ag onto the fibre after washing several times. Air plasma-Al2O3 treatment improves the flame retarding, UPF, the thermal stability and whiteness of polyester fabric;whereas air plasma-nano Ag treatment affects positively the antibacterial activity of the fibre and air plasma-nano TiO2 enhances the fibre protection against ultraviolet rays. The colouration behaviour of the treated samples is unchanged or slightly improved.

Strength and dilatancy behaviors of deep sands in Shanghai with a focus on grain size and shape effect

With rapid development of infrastructures like tunnels and open excavations in Shanghai,investigations on deeper soils have become critically *** of the existing laboratory works were focused on the clayey strata up to Layer 6 in Shanghai,*** depth of up to 40 *** this paper,Layers 7,9,and 11,which were mostly formed of sandy soils at depth of up to 150 m,were experimentally investigated with respect to physico-mechanical *** stressestrain behaviors were analyzed by the consolidated drained/undrained(CD/CU)triaxial tests under monotonic ***-dimensional(1D)oedometer tests were performed to investigate the consolidation properties of the sandy *** were prepared at three different relative densities for each ***,the micro-images and particle size analyzers were used to analyze the shape and size of the sand *** influences of grain size,density,and angularity on the stressestrain behaviors and compressibility were also *** to the other layers,Layer 11 had the smallest mean grain size(D50),highest compressibility,and lowest shear *** contrast,Layer 9 had the largest mean grain size,lowest compressibility,and highest shear *** 7 was of intermediate mean grain size,exhibiting more compressibility and less shear strength than that of Layer ***,the critical state parameters and maximum dilatancy rate of different layers were discussed.
