AIM：To describe the prevalence and changes in treatment patterns of ranibizumab and photodynamic therapy（PDT） among retinal disease patients who attended the Ophthalmology Clinic in the tertiary care Hospital Selayang from 2010 to ***：Study subjects were recruited retrospectively using the Electronic Medical Record（EMR） database software in Hospital *** data,medical history,diagnostic procedure,treatments and diagnosis of patients were ***：The five-year analysis included 821 patients with a mean age of 65.9±11.73 ***,there were a highernumber of males（63.1%） and a higher number of Chinese（47.4%） *** the 821 patients,62.9% received ranibizumab injection followed by 19.2% PDT therapy and 17.9% had ranibizumab combined with PDT ***-related macular degeneration（AMD） and polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy（PCV） were the most common retinal eye diseases reported,recording prevalence of 25.0% and 45.6%,*** trend in ranibizumab treatment was reported to increase while PDT showed a decrease in trend from year 2010 to *** terms of treatment,following multiple logistic regression,AMD was associated with the subjects being more likely to have received ranibizumab monotherapy（P〈0.001） while PCV was associated with more likely to have received PDT（P〈0.001） and PDT combined with ranibizumab therapy（P〈0.001）.CONCLUSION：The tertiary care setting in malaysia is consistent with management of patients from other countries whereby ranibizumab is the most common treatment given to patients with AMD,while PCV patients most commonly receive PDT and ranibizumab combined with PDT therapy.

Hepatocellular adenomas(HCAs)represent rare,benign liver tumours occurring predominantly in females taking oral *** children,HCAs comprise less than 5%of hepatic tumours and demonstrate association with various *** contemporary classification of HCAs,based on their distinctive genotypes and clinical phenotypes,includes hepatocyte nuclear factor 1 homeobox alpha-inactivated HCAs,beta-catenin-mutated HCAs,inflammatory HCAs,combined beta-catenin-mutated and inflammatory HCAs,sonic hedgehogactivated HCAs,and unclassified *** children,there is a lack of literature on the characteristics and distribution of HCA *** this review,we summarized different HCA subtypes and the clinicopathologic spectrum of HCAs in the paediatric population.

Upper gastrointestinal(UGI) tract involvement of inflammatory bowel disease(IBD) is commonly seen in pediatric patients. Upper endoscopy is included in the routine workup of children with suspected IBD to enhance the diagnosis and management of these patients. Currently, childhood IBD is classified into ulcerative colitis(UC), atypical UC, Crohn's disease(CD) and IBD *** confirmation of UGI tract involvement, in particular the presence of epithelioid(non-caseating) granulomas, is helpful in confirming the diagnosis of IBD and its classification. Herein, we reviewed selected IBD-associated UGI tract manifestations in children. Lymphocytic esophagitis, seen predominantly in CD,is histologically characterized by increased intraepithelial lymphocytes(> 20 in one high-power field) in a background of mucosal injury with absence of granulocytes. Focally enhanced gastritis is a form of gastric inflammation in pediatric IBD marked by a focal lymphohistiocytic pit inflammation with or without granulocytes and plasma cells in a relatively normal background gastric mucosa. Duodenal inflammation seen in children with IBD includes cryptitis,villous flattening, increased intraepithelial lymphocytes, and lamina propria eosinophilia. Finally, epithelioid granulomas not associated with ruptured gland/crypt are a diagnostic feature of CD. The clinicopathologic correlation and differential diagnosis of each microscopic finding are discussed. Clinicians and pathologists should be cognizant of the utility and limitations of these histologic features.

Primary malignant vascular neoplasms of the liver,angiosarcoma and epithelioid hemangioendothelioma,are extremely rare entities in the pediatric *** Society for the Study of Vascular Anomalies classification system is recommended for the pathologic diagnosis of hepatic vascular lesions in this age *** this article,we highlight the clinicopathologic characteristics of hepatic angiosarcoma and epithelioid hemangioendothelioma in the pediatric *** angiosarcoma in children shows a slight female predominance with an average age of 40 mo at *** distinct histologic features include whorls of atypical spindled cells and eosinophilic globules,in addition to the general findings of *** diagnosis of pediatric hepatic angiosarcoma is not always straightforward,and the diagnostic challenges are discussed in the *** epithelioid hemangioendothelioma also demonstrates a female predominance,but is more commonly identified in adolescents(median age at diagnosis:12 years).Histologically,the lesion is characterized by epithelioid cells and occasional intracytoplasmic lumina with a background of fibromyxoid *** WWTR1-CAMTA1 and YAP1-TFE3 fusions have been associated with epithelioid hemangioendothelioma,there are currently no known signature genetic alterations seen in pediatric hepatic *** in molecular pathology,particularly for pediatric hepatic angiosarcoma,is necessary for a better understanding of the disease biology,diagnosis,and development of targeted therapies.

Occupant behavior(OB)is one of the significant sources of uncertainty in building performance *** OB modeling has received increased attention in the past decade,research on the degree of granularity or level of detail(LoD)required for representing occupants is still in the nascent *** paper analyzes the modeling and applicability of three LoDs to represent occupants in building performance assessment.A medium-sized prototype office building located in Chicago,Illinois is used as the simulation case *** occupant-centric attributes are adopted to develop the LoDs for OB *** first demonstrate the different modeling approaches required for simulating the three fidelity ***,we illustrate the suitability of the developed LoDs in supporting six building performance use cases across different lifecycle *** study intends to provide guidance for the building simulation community on appropriate OB representation to support various use cases.

Indonesia is one of the countries with the highest burden of tuberculosis and drug-resistant tuberculosis(DR-TB)across the *** on data from the World Health Organization(WHO)Global TB Report 2023,it is estimated that there are 10000 cases of DR-TB in ***,a novel antitubercular drug,has been implemented to treat DR-TB *** was administered either a shorter(9 months)or individualized treatment regimen(18 months).However,long treatment duration with various adverse events affects patient ***,a short treatment with less medication is urgently *** 2022,the WHO announced an alternative regimen-bedaquiline,pretomanid,linezolid,and moxifloxacin(BPaLM)to treat DR-TB patients for six months without resistance to fluoroquinolones[1].This recommendation is based on previous clinical trials of TB,Zenix TB,and *** introduction of BPaL and BPaLM provided a bright future for treating DR-TB patients.

Three-dimensional ZnO multipods are successfully synthesized on functional substrates using the vapor transport method in a quartz tube. The functional surfaces, which include two different distributions of Ag nanoparticles and a layer of commercial Ag nanowires, are coated onto silicon substrates before the growth of ZnO nanostructures. The structures and morphologies of the ZnO/Ag heterostructures are investigated using X-ray diffraction and field emission scanning electron microscopy. The sizes and shapes of the Ag particles affect the growth rates and initial nucleations of the ZnO structures, resulting in different numbers and shapes of multipods. They also influence the orientation and growth quality of the rods. The optical properties are studied by photoluminescence, UV-vis, and Raman spectroscopy. The results indicate that the surface plasmon resonance strongly depends on the sizes and shapes of the Ag particles.

Aedes aegypti is known as the responsible vector in transmitting dengue flavivirus. Unavailability of medication to cure the transmission in human blood becomes a global health issue in recent decades. World epidemiologists are encouraged to focus on investigation toward an effective and inexpensive way to prevent dengue transmission, i.e. mosquito control. In this paper, we present a model depicting the dynamics of mosquito population based on indoor-outdoor life cycle classification. The basic mosquito offspring number is obtained and analysis of equilibria is shown. We bring along a discussion on application of optimal control model which engineers two simultaneous schemes. The first scheme is done by disseminating chemical like Temephos in spots where eggs and larvae develop, meanwhile the second scheme is done by conducting fumigation through areas where adult mosquitoes prevalently nest, indoor as well as outdoor. A version of gradient-based method is presented to set down a workflow in minimizing the objective functional with respect to control variable. Numerical results from analysis of the basic mosquito offspring number with constant control and from optimal control suggest that one has to enhance the usage of fumigation rather than Temephos. It is also suggested that applying both control schemes simultaneously gives the most significant reduction to the population.
