A study was carried out to compare several colorimetric, physical and comfort properties of polyester fabric dyed with indigo type vat dye and traditionally used disperse dye. It was observed that in terms of colorfastness properties the results were found similar for both the dyes, however in some cases indigo showed slightly better performances. While comparing physical properties, though pilling resistance was found similar, abrasion resistance and bursting strength were found better for disperse dyed fabric. The lower drape co-efficient, bending length and flexural rigidity exhibited the improvement of limpness of the indigo dyed sample. The comfort property was also found improved attributed by the enhanced air permeability of the indigo dyed polyester fabric.

Jute is the golden fiber crop of Bangladesh. Viral and Nemic diseases are the major threats to fiber crops, and the fiber yield decreases drastically as the disease infection increases. An experiment was conducted to screen and evaluate ten Jute and allied fiber varieties i.e. BJRI Kenaf-4, BJRI Kenaf-3, HS-95 (Kenaf), HS-24 (Mesta pat), HC-2 (Kenaf), BJRI Deshi pat-8, BJRI Deshi pat-7, BJRI Deshi pat-5, BJRI Deshi pat-6 and CVL-1 against mosaic virus and root-knot nematode disease. It was done in RCBD design with three replications at Sher-e-Bangla Agricultural University (SAU) central farm, Dhaka-1207, from June 2018 to March 2019. In the case of viral infection, variety 4 (HS-24 (Mesta pat)) showed maximum virus incidence (23.11%), whereas variety 2 (BJRI Kenaf-3) had no virus evidence. The most susceptible nematode-infected variety was found in varieties 5 (HC-2 (Kenaf)) and 9 (BJRI Deshi pat-6), which showed 80% incidence, whereas variety 2 (BJRI Kenaf-3) was highly resistance. The growth and yield results showed a significant (0.05%) reduction of plant height (cm) and fiber weight (t/ha) with an increase in the percentage of virus and nematode incidence against all varieties. The highest fiber weight (1.47 t/ha) and the lowest viral (0%) and nemic infection (0%) were found in variety 2 (BJRI Kenaf-3), which showed better performance compared to other varieties. These results revealed that variety 2 (BJRI Kenaf-3) had the best variety in the present study.

BACKGROUND Although breast milk is ideal for newborns,in some cases,it is replaced with cow’s milk,which contains proteins that increase the risk of cow’s milk protein allergy(CMPA).AIM To evaluate CMPA prevalence in Bahrain and compare clinical characteristics of children with immunoglobulin E(IgE)-and non-IgE-mediated *** This retrospective cohort study examined children with CMPA diagnosed at the pediatric gastroenterology outpatient clinic of the Salmaniya Medical Complex,Bahrain,between 2014 and 2022,and assessed CMPA *** presentations,laboratory findings,dietary modifications,and outcomes were compared between children with IgE-mediated and non-IgE-mediated *** variables were compared using Fisher’s exact test or Pearson’sχ2 test,whereas continuous variables were compared using Student’s t-test or the Mann-Whitney U *** Of 8332 patients,6022(72.3%)adhered to their *** them,618(10.3%)were suggested of having CMPA and 595(96.3%)were included;CMPA prevalence was 2%.Most patients were Bahraini(93.8%)and males(55.3%).Non-IgE-mediated type accounted for 77.3%cases and IgE-mediated type,22.7%.IgE-mediated CMPA presented more in boys(P=0.030),and later in life(5.1 months±4.5 months vs 4.2 months±4.2 months,P=0.016,95%CI:0.08-1.73),had more associated diseases(P<0.001);and presented with more cutaneous(P=0.024)and respiratory(P=0.003)manifestations,severe symptoms[rash/dry skin(P=0.031),facial swelling/angioedema(P=0.003),failure to thrive(P=0.013),apparent life-threatening event(P<0.001)],and positive physical findings(P=0.002)than non-IgE-mediated *** patients were exclusively fed cow milk formula(50.3%).The amino acid-based formula(AAF)was most prescribed(60.5%)with no difference between the two types(P=0.173).Although breastfeeding was recommended to 49.6%,only 8.2%were exclusively ***-mediated CMPA was associated with a longer follow-up duration than non-IgE-mediated CMPA(17.3 months±14.0 mo

ZnS quantum dots （QDs）, prepared by soft-condensation, exhibit robust structure of a quantum size equal 3.13 nm mediated two-dimensional gum Arabic surfactant as characterized by scan tunnelling microscope （STM）. Strong blue-shifted absorption and emission bands are depicted by optical characterization even for the sample stored under ambient condition for two weeks. These enhancements can be attributed to the completely passivated surface trap states by Gum Arabic.

Helicobacter pylori infection represents a widespread chronic condition with varying prevalence influenced by race, ethnicity, and geography. The severity of H. pylori-associated diseases is determined by an array of virulence factors. Although extensive studies have been conducted globally, data on the distribution of Helicobacter pylori virulence genes in Libya remain limited, constraining insights into the pathogenicity of local strains and hindering the development of targeted interventions. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence of H. pylori infection, characterize essential virulence genes [vacA variants (s1/s2, m1/m2), cagA, and iceA1], and examine their association with gastroduodenal diseases among Libyan patients. Gastric biopsies from 144 participants were analyzed using polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays, and risk factor data were collected via questionnaires. H. pylori was detected in 63.2% of samples by PCR. The vacA gene was present in 84.6% of cases, cagA in 58.2%, and iceA1 in 29.7%. Among vacA variants, s1 allele was most common (53.2%), followed by m1 (42.9%), m2 (37.7%), and s2 (13%) alleles. Significant associations were identified between specific virulence genes and the development of gastroduodenal diseases, highlighting their role in pathogenicity. This investigation is one of Libya’s first comprehensive assessments of H. pylori virulence factors, addressing a critical epidemiological gap. The high prevalence of virulence genes suggests their potential as disease biomarkers. These findings contribute to a deeper understanding of H. pylori pathogenicity within the Libyan population and establish a basis for future clinical interventions and public health strategies to manage and prevent H. pylori-associated diseases in Libya and comparable regions.

Nowadays,wireless local area network(WLAN)has become prevalent Internet access due to its low-cost gadgets,flexible coverage and hasslefree simple wireless *** facilitates wireless Internet services to users with mobile devices like smart phones,tablets,and laptops through deployment of multiple access points(APs)in a network *** AP operates on a frequency band called *** wireless standard such as IEEE 802.11n has a limited number of channels where frequency spectrum of adjacent channels overlaps partially with each *** a crowded environment,users may experience poor Internet services due to channel collision i.e.,interference from surrounding APs that affects the performance of the WLAN ***,it becomes a challenge to maintain expected performance in a crowded environment.A mathematical model of throughput considering interferences from surrounding APs can play an important role to set up a WLAN system *** set up,assignment of channels considering interference can maximize network *** this paper,we investigate the signal propagation of APs under interference of partially overlapping channels for both bonded and non-bonded ***,a throughput estimation model is proposed using difference of operating channels and received signal strength indicator(RSSI).Then,a channel assignment algorithm is introduced using proposed throughput estimation ***,the efficiency of the proposal is verified by numerical experiments using *** results show that the proposal selects the best channel combination of bonded and non-bonded channels that maximize the performance.

Objective:To estimate the risk of chronic kidney disease in patients with ***:All reported(41890)and later confirmed leptospirosis(1990)cases from 2010-2020 were traced by universal sampling.386 Laboratory-confirmed leptospirosis cases were enrolled and 413 age,gender,area,and occupation matched healthy persons were included as *** including socio-demographic characteristics,medical history,and health-related behaviours were compared between the two groups and association between these variables and reduced estimated glomerular filtration rate(eGFR)was analyzed with multiple linear ***:The median of eGFR was 49.0(27.0,75.0)mL/min/1.73 m^(2) in the cases and 96.0(72.0,121.0)mL/min/1.73 m^(2) in the controls,showing significant differences(P<0.001).Bivariate analysis showed that leptospirosis seropositivitiy,repeat leptospirosis infection,diabetes,male gender,working in field(sun exposure),COVID-19 infection and smoking had statistically significant association with reduced *** seropositivity had negative effects on *** linear regression confirmed that leptospirosis seropositivity had negative effects on eGFR(unstandardised β coefficients=−30.86,95%CI−49.7 to−11.9,P<0.001).Conclusions:Chronic kidney disease is a complex disease with multiple risk factors *** to leptospirosis is one of the essential factors in accelerating its progression.
