We investigate magnetic and thermal behaviours of one-dimensional antiferromagnetic spin-i Ising chain with single-ion anisotropy at very low temperatures using the classical transfer matrix technique. Magnetic plateaus, phase diagram, specific heat, susceptibility of the spin chain have been evaluated numerically from the free energy. The results are in good agreement with the experimental data for the spin-1 compounds [Ni2 （Medpt）2 （μ- ox）（H2O）2]（ClO4）22H2O, [Ni2（Medpt）2（μ-ox）（μ-N3）]（ClO4）0.5H2O, Ni（C2H8N2）Ni（CN）4 and Ni（C10H8N2）2 Ni（CN）4·H2O.

Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease(NAFLD) is an umbrella term to describe the entire spectrum of this common liver disease. In patients with NAFLD, especially those with non-alcoholic steatohepatitis(NASH), most often have one or more components of the metabolic syndrome, but this is not universal. Although most patients with NAFLD share many clinical features, only a subset of patients develops significant liver inflammation and progressive fibrosis. On the other hand, not all patients with NASH exhibit insulin resistance. NASH can be seen in patients who are lean and have no identifiable risk factors. Many clinical studies have tried numerous drugs and alternative medicine, however, investigators have failed to identify a safe and effective therapy for patients with NASH. As summarized, the heterogeneity of pathogenic pathways in individual patients with NASH may warrant the development of an individualized treatment according to the underlying pathogenic pathway. The differentiation of pathogenetic targets may require the development of diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers, and the identification of genetic susceptibilities. At present, evidence-based medicine provides only a few options including life-style modifications targeting weight loss, pioglitazone and vitamin E in non-diabetic patients with biopsy-proven NASH.

This paper examines the contribution of exports to growth in China since the early years of the decade. It is estimated that, despite a high import content ranging between 40 and 50 percent, approximately one-third of Chinese growth before the global crisis was a result of exports, due to their phenomenal growth of some 25 percent per annum. This figure increases to 50percent if spillovers to consumption and investment are allowed for. The main reason for excessive dependence on foreign markets is underconsumption. This is due not so much to a high share of household savings in GDP as to a low share of household income and a high share of profits. It is argued that China can no longer maintain such high growth rates for its exports, and, therefore, needs to turn to consumption-led growth by expanding the share of wages and household income in GDP and accelerating public spending in social infrastructure.

Noninvasive low-intensity extracorporeal shockwave treatment(Li-ESWT)has been widely used to treat erection *** is no clear information regarding either the selection of patients for the treatment or the treatment *** this study,we aimed to investigate the efficacy of extracorporeal shockwave therapy in diabetic patients with severe erectile dysfunction(International Index of Erectile Function-5[IIEF-5]scores of 5 to 7).Sixty-three diabetes mellitus patients with erectile dysfunction having IIEF-5 scores of 5 to 7 and not showing a recovery of potency despite phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitor therapy for the past 6 months were included in the *** patients were evaluated based on their IIEF-5 scores and Erection Hardness Scale *** IIEF-5 score(mean±standard deviation[s.d.])increased from 5.29±1.67 to 5.56±1.85,with a difference of 0.27±0.18(P>0.05).The Erection Hardness Scale scores(mean±s.d.),on the other hand,increased from 1.46±0.50 to 1.48±0.50,with a difference of 0.02±0(P>0.05).In conclusion,the response to phosphodiesterase type 5 inhibitors did not change after extracorporeal shockwave treatment in diabetes mellitus patients with severe erectile dysfunction(IIEF-5 scores of 5 to 7).

The influence of Al content on machinability of AS series cast Mg alloys was studied. The assessment of machinability of Mg alloys was performed by measuring the cutting forces and surface roughness. The microstructure and the tensile properties were also studied. The results reveal that cutting forces are increased with the increase of the Al content. Surface roughness and mechanical properties are the highest for AS91 Mg alloy. It is assumed that the main mechanism, which has an influence on the mechanical properties, is the presence of intermetallic phases(Mg2Si and Mg17Al12). Cutting forces increase with the increase of the cutting speed in machining of all Mg alloys. These measured data are in accordance with the mechanical properties of the machined alloys.

The low-lying states of the mid-heavy odd-even ^111Sb and odd-odd ^112Sb isotopes are calculated for the first time within the shell model framework. The shell model calculations have been carried out within the reduced model space including the single particle orbits ld5/2,097/2, ld3/2, 2Sl/2. We obtain the energy spectra for the ^111Sb and ^112Sb isotopes in the reduced model space by using CD-Bonn two-body effective nucleon-nucleon interaction. The energy spectra are compared to the experimental results to give some discussion about the low-lying states of ^111Sb and ^112Sb.

AIM:To investigate the relationship between reflux and body mass index(BMI) in the asymptomatic obese population using the impedance-p H ***:Gastroesophageal reflux is frequent in the obese ***,the relationship between acid reflux and BMI in asymptomatic obese people is ***-six obese(BMI > 25 kg/m2) people were enrolled in this prospective *** evaluated the demographic findings and 24-h impedance p H values of the whole ***,acid(p H 30 kg/m2).Demographic and endoscopic findings,and impedance results were similar in these two ***,there was a positive correlation between BMI and total and supine p H<4 episodes(P=0.002,r=0.414;P=0.000,r=0.542),p H<4 reflux time(P=0.015,r=0.319;P=0.003,r=0.403),and De Meester score(P=0.012,r=0.333).CONCLUSION:Acid reflux is correlated with BMI in asymptomatic obese individuals.

The zincblende ternary alloys Tl_xGa_（1-x） As（0 〈 x 〈 1） are studied by numerical analysis based on the plane wave pseudopotential method within the density functional theory and the local density approximation. To model the alloys,16-atom supercells with the 2 × 2 × 2 dimensions are used and the dependency of the lattice parameter, bulk modulus,electronic structure, energy band gap, and optical bowing on the concentration x are analyzed. The results indicate that the ternary Tl_xGa_（1-x） As alloys have an average band gap bowing parameter of 4.48 eV for semiconductor alloys and 2.412 eV for semimetals. It is found that the band gap bowing strongly depends on composition and alloying a small Tl content with GaAs produces important modifications in the band structures of the alloys.

DEFPOS and Its First Results

A spectrometer was built to examine the interstellar medium (ISM) using the hydrogen Balmer α line. It is called Dual Etalon Fabry-Perot Optical Spectrometer (DEFPOS). DEFPOS will be coupled to coudé exit of the 150 cm telescope (RTT150) installed at TüBITAK National Observatory (TUG). DEFPOS was ready for observations about two years ago, but work was still continuing on the RTT150 coudé exit alignment. So we have started observing HII regions with DEFPOS without the RTT150. We present here some characteristics of the instrument and some of the results obtained.
