Green hydrogen production from photovoltaic power station as a road map to climate change mitigation

The increasing recognition of hydrogen as a critical element in the global net-zero transition and its clear role in decarbonizing challenging sectors coincide with the growing urgency to address climate ***'s favourable renewable-energy capacity,ranging from 28%to 36%for solar,has been reported by the global solar irradiance ***,the majority of hydrogen production today relies on fossil fuels(96%),with only a small fraction(4%)being produced through water *** though there have been many studies on climate change mitigation with a focus on Africa,a green hydrogen production from a photovoltaic power station approach has not been ***,literature with a focus on Nigeria is *** study focuses on the African green hydrogen production industry,utilizing Nigeria as a case study to explore the feasibility of generating clean hydrogen vectors from a percentage of photovoltaic power output in various regions of the country through stand-alone solar grid electrification *** of the usage and effectiveness of the produced hydrogen fuel in each region are carried out,with the highest region having an annual output of 12247278 kg of green hydrogen and 8573094 kg of ammonia and the lowest region having an output of 511245 kg of green hydrogen and 357871 kg of ammonia,and the expected production from the proposed usage of 50%of the power generation output of the installed 1.6-MWp and 80-kWp solar power minigrids in the regions is *** analyses were repeated for the other considered regions in the *** results showcased the enormous advantages of the electrolytic production of hydrogen and how the greener economy project can play a major role in mitigating climate change effects and overreliance on fossil fuels as the driver of the economy in many African countries.

Impact of Tillage and Herbicides on Weed Density, Yield and Quality of Cotton in Wheat Based Cropping System

Conservation tillage may improve yield of cotton in addition to improvement in soil quality if practiced for longer period. However, the practice may not be productive in short-term particularly when severe weeds are infesting the crops such as Cynodon dactylon, Conyza canadensis, Tribulus terrestris, and Cyperus rotundus, etc. Recent studies indicate that conventional tillage （CT） is more productive than zero tillage （ZT）/reduced tillage （RT）. Performance of cotton under three tillage systems, viz., ZT, RT and CT; and five herbicides, i.e., haloxyfop-R-methyl 10.8 EC （108 g a.i. ha^-1）, lactofen 24 EC （168 g a.i. ha^-1）, haloxyfop 10.8 EC ＋ lactofen 24 EC, hand weeding, and weedy check were evaluated during 2010-2011 at Gomal University, ***, Pakistan, to explore the best management option for effective weed control, enhanced yield and quality of cotton grown after wheat. The results revealed that hand weeding and Haloxyfop as post emergence alone or in combination with Lactofen reduced weed density to the minimum irrespective of the tillage systems. Excessive rainfall and cooler temperature limited cotton growth and yield in 2010. The adverse weather conditions had more adverse effect on boll weight under ZT and RT than CT. Haloxyfop ＋ lactofen produced higher seed cotton yield in RT than ZT, however, it could not exceed CT. Broad-spectrum herbicides x CT produced the highest number of bolls/plant, boll weight and seed cotton yield. Fiber quality and net returns were also the highest in broad-spectrum herbicides x CT. In conclusion, broad-spectrum herbicides under CT were more productive in wheat based cropping system on silty clay soil of ***.

Effect of temperature on milk fats of cow,buffalo,and goat used for frying local food products

Objectives:Thermal processes,such as refining and frying,result in the formation of trans fatty acids(TFAs)in edible oils or *** the detrimental effect of TFAs on human health,milk fat samples of cow,buffalo,and goat are collected in order to elucidate TFAs accumulation during thermal ***:The increased amount of TFAs due to heating is analyzed by attenuated total reflection-Fourier transform infrared(ATR-FTIR)spectroscopy in conjunction with second-derivative treatment and gas chromatographic(GC)***:The total amount of TFAs has been increased from 7.71 to 8.25 per cent for cow milk fat,7.12 to 7.82 per cent for buffalo milk fat,and from 6.82 to 7.61 per cent for goat milk fat on heating the samples to 125°C-175°C as predicted by ***:Local food products fried in these milk fats are hence very harmful to human *** results demonstrate that thermally induced TFAs in milk fats are closely related to the process temperature and time,which should be considered to reduce the formation of TFAs during thermal treatment.

Entropy Generation Optimization(EGO)attained huge interest of scientists and researchers due to its numerous applications comprised in mechanical engineering,air conditioners,heat engines,thermal machines,heat exchange,refrigerators,heat pumps and substance mixing ***,the study of radiative hybrid nanofluid(GO-MoS_(2)/C_(2)H_(6)O_(2)–H_(2)O)and the conventional nanofluid(MoS_(2)/C_(2)H_(6)O_(2)–H_(2)O)is conducted in the presence of Lorentz *** flow configuration is modeled between the parallel rotating plates in which the lower plate is *** models which govern the flow in rotating system are solved numerically over the domain of interest and furnished the results for the temperature,entropy generation and thermophysical characteristics of the hybrid as well as conventional nanofluids,*** is examined that the thermal profile intensifies against stronger thermal radiations and magnetic *** surface of the plate is heated due to the imposed thermal radiations and magnetic field which cause the increment in the *** is also observed that the temperature declines against more rotating ***,the entropy production increases for more dissipative effects and declines against more magnetized *** conductivities of the hybrid nanofluid enhances promptly in comparison with regular liquid therefore,under consideration hybrid nanofluid is reliable for the heat ***,dominating thermal transport is perceived for the hybrid nanofluid which showed that hybrid suspension GO-MoS_(2)/C_(2)H_(6)O_(2)–H_(2)O is better for industrial,engineering and technological uses.

Thermal transport investigation in colloidal suspensions is taking a significant research *** applications of these fluids are found in various industries,engineering,aerodynamics,mechanical engineering and medical sciences etc.A huge amount of thermal transport is essential in the operation of various industrial production *** is a fact that conventional liquids have lower thermal transport characteristics as compared to colloidal *** colloidal suspensions have high thermal performance due to the thermophysical attributes of the nanoparticles and the host ***,researchers focused on the analysis of the heat transport in nanofluids under diverse *** such,the colloidal analysis of H_(2)O composed byγAl_(2)O_(3)and Al_(2)O_(3)is conducted over an elastic *** governing flow models ofγAl_(2)O_(3)/H_(2)O and Al_(2)O_(3)/H_(2)O is reduced in the dimensionless form by adopting the described similarity *** colloidal models are handled by implementing the suitable numerical technique and provided the results for the velocity,temperature and local thermal performance rate against the multiple flow *** the presented results,it is shown that the velocity of Al_(2)O_(3)–H_(2)O increases promptly against a high Reynolds number and it decreases for high-volume *** significant contribution of the volumetric fraction is examined for thermal enhancement of *** temperature of Al_(2)O_(3)–H_(2)O andγAl_(2)O_(3)–H_(2)O significantly increases against a higherϕ.Most importantly,the analysis shows thatγAl_(2)O_(3)–H_(2)O has a high local thermal performance rate compared to Al_(2)O_(3)–H_(2)***,it is concluded thatγAl_(2)O_(3)–H_(2)O is a better heat transfer fluid and is suitable for industrial and technological uses.

Analytical approach to study a mathematical model of CD4 ＋ T-cells

Human immunodeficiency virus （HIV） emerged as one of the most serious health issues of the modern era. Till date, it challenges the scientists working in the fields related to its prevention, least spread and eradication. It affects not only the person suffering from it but also the communities and their economies. Mathematical modeling is one of the ways to explore the possibilities of prediction （and control） strategies for contagious deceases. In this paper, we have tried to extend the scope of a currently available prediction model for a continuous time span. For this purpose, an analytical investigation of the system of nonlinear differential equations, governing the HIV infection of CD4 ＋ T-cells, is carried out. A new emerging analytical technique Optimal Variational Iteration Method （OVIM） has been used to obtain an analytical and convergent solution. Analytical solutions are continuous solutions that can be used to predict the phenomena without the involvement of interpolation or extrapolation errors. On the other hand, their use in the derived equations, depending upon solution itself, is far easier than the numerical solutions. We have presented the error analysis and the prediction curves graphically. Moreover, a comparison with traditional Variational Iteration is also provided. It is concluded that the traditional method fails to converge for the updated models which involve the delayed differential equations.

An approach for approximate solution of fractional-order smoking model with relapse class

In this paper, we develop a fractional-order smoking model by considering relapse class. First, we formulate the model and find the unique positive solution for the proposed model. Then we apply the Griinwald-Letnikov approximation in the place of maintaining a general quadrature formula approach to the Riemann-Liouville integral definition of the fractional derivative. Building on this foundation avoids the need for domain trans-formations, contour integration or involved theory to compute accurate approximate solutions of fractional-order giving up smoking model A comparative study between Griinwald-Letnikov method and Runge-Kutta method is presented in the case of integer-order derivative. Finally, we present the obtained results graphically.
