To the Editor It is believed that the inherent tolerogenic property of the liver is involved in the chronicity of hepatitis B virus(HBV)infection[1].However,exposure to HBV in adults usually leads to spontaneous clearance of the virus and the induction of potent and effective anti-HBV T cell immunity in the liver[2],suggesting that the immune microenvironment of the liver switches from limiting to allowing effector T cell responses during acute resolution of HBV infection.

Whereas statistical association of hepatitis C virus(HCV)infection with cardiomyopathy is long known,establishment of a causal relationship has not been achieved so *** with advanced heart failure(HF)are mostly unable to tolerate interferon(IFN)-based treatment,resulting in limited experi-ence regarding the possible pathogenic role of HCV in this patient *** infection often triggers disease in a broad spectrum of extrahepatic organs,with innate immune and autoimmune pathogenic processes *** fact that worldwide more than 70 million patients are chronically infected with HCV illustrates the possible clinical impact arising if cardiomyopathies were induced or aggravated by HCV,resulting in progressive HF or severe arrhythmias.A novel path has been opened to finally resolve the long-standing question of cause-effect relationship between HCV infection and cardiac dysfunction,by the recent development of IFN-free,highly efficient,and well tolerable anti-HCV *** new direct-acting antiviral(DAA)agents are highly virus-specific and lack unspecific side-effects upon cardiac function which have always confounded the interpret-tation of IFN treatment *** actual frequency of un-explained HF in chronic HCV infection will be determined from a planned large-scale *** such patients probably constitute a rather small fraction of all those harboring HCV,they have major clinical *** is not yet known which fraction of these patients will significantly benefit from HCV eradication,but this issue will be addressed now in a prospective study.

Ultra-Low Frequency Electromagnetic Emissions Registered during the 21 May 2021 Yangbi <i>M</i><sub>S</sub>6.4 Earthquake in China

Four ulf (0.01 Hz - 20 Hz) electromagnetic stations had been gradually established and put into service from 2010 to 2011 in Zhaotong area, Yunnan province. Two stations of Qiaojia and Yongshan have been running with continuous and high quality recordings and free of influence of solar activities, like magnetic storms. In this investigation, daily recordings from 1 January 2020 to 22 May 2021 have been examined of these both stations. The results show that weak anomalous signals appeared at the beginning of March 2021 with relative low magnitudes of 0.6 nT at Qiaojia station and 0.3 nT at Yongshan station. At the end of this month, the emissions gained an abrupt increase and the amplitudes reached up to 3.8 nT at Qiaojia station and 1.2 nT at Yongsha station. Then, the amplitude decreased to be 0.5 - 1.5 nT and 0.6 - 1.3 nT respectively at both stations but with a high variation frequency in all components. This situation lasted till the Yangbi MS 6.4 earthquake happened on May 21, 2021, more than 300 km away from these two ulf observing stations. Totally, the ulf magnetic emissions had been characterized by a synchronous variation in all components at two observing stations.

Deformation micromechanisms of two-phase titanium aluminide alloys have been investigated by deformation tests and electron microscope observations. Interaction mechanisms of perfect and twinning dislocations with the lamellar interfaces were characterized with respect to the factors governing the multiplication and the slip paths of the dislocations. Thermally activated processes controlling the dislocation mobility were described in terms of activation volumes and activation *** analysis is aimed at the identification of the dislocation processes operating under deformation conditions which are relevant for practical applications.

AIM: To study whether patients with excess deoxycholic acid (DCA) differ from those with normal percentage of DCA with respect to biliary lipid composition and cholesterol saturation of gallbladder ***: Bile was collected during operation through puncturing into the gallbladder from 122 cholesterol gallstone patients and 46 gallstone-free subjects undergoing cholecystectomy. Clinical data, biliary lipids, bile acid composition,presence of crystals and nucleation time were ***: A subgroup of gallstone patients displayeda higher proportion of DCA in bile than gallstone free *** choosing a cut-off level of the 90th percentile, a group of 13 gallstone patients with high DCA levels (mean 50percent of total bile acids) and a large group of 109 patients with normal DCA levels (mean 21 percent of total bile acids)were obtained. The mean age of the patients with high DCA levels was higher than that of the group with normal levels (mean age: 62 years vs45 years) and so was the mean BMI (28.3 vs. 24.7). Plasma levels of cholesterol and triglycerides were slightly higher in the DCA excess groups compared with those in the normal DCA group. There was no difference in biliary lipid composition, cholesterol saturation, nucleation time or occurrence of cholesterol crystals in bile between patients with high and normal levels of ***: gallstone patients with excess DCA were of older age and had higher BMI than patients with normal DCA. The two groups of patients did not differ with respect to biliary lipid composition, cholesterol saturation, nucleation time or occurrence of cholesterol crystals. It is concluded that DCA in bile does not seem to contribute to gallstone formation in cholesterol gallstone patients.

Intracavernous de Novo Aneurysms without Prior Manipulation of the Harboring Vessel: Report of Two Cases

Intracavernous aneurysms of the cranial base, though less frequent than intradural intracranial aneurysms, can pose considerable therapeutic problems. To date, little is known concerning their spontaneous development and eventual growth kinetics. We report the observation of two de novo aneurysms without prior therapeutic manipulation of the vessels. In our first case, the 33-year-old woman had suffered from an intracerebral hemorrhage at the age of 22. At this time, neurosurgical evacuation was performed, neither angiographically nor histologically was an underlying vascular malformation disclosed. During follow-up observation 11 years later, a cavernous aneurysm of the right internal carotid artery was detected, together with an arteriovenous malformation of the left pericallosal artery next to the former hemorrhage. In the second case, the 49-year-old woman had undergone magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for headache, revealing two intracavernous aneurysms of the right internal carotid artery. During follow-up, 7 years later, angiography disclosed a de-novo aneurysm of the left internal carotid artery, and an enlargement of the more distal right-sided aneurysm. Most cases of de novo aneurysm formation are described intradurally and after manipulation of the harboring vessel. In the patients presented here, therapeutically induced hemodynamic changes or vessel wall manipulations are not involved, pointing to a cerebrovascular predilection, that—in combination with a set of risk factors—leads to the development of cavernous aneurysms.

Oxygen atom transfer（OAT） reactions catalyzed by three mononuclear molybdenum enzymes DMSOR,SO,and XO have attracted considerable attention but many issues are still ***-B3LYP+VDW+COSMOS methods have been employed to clarify the reaction mechanistic scenarios with the help of detailed frontier molecular orbital（FMO） analysis,electron donating orbital（EDO） and electron accepting orbital（EAO）,Mulliken charge distribution and geometrical *** results show that the theoretical models and methods are *** electron pair and the oxo ligand are transferred simultaneously in the reactions catalyzed by DMSOR and SO,whereas the electron pair is transferred concertedly with the labile oxo ligand and subsequently with a proton via the sulfido ligand back to Mo VI center to accomplish the complete OAT reaction in ***,the nature of the reactivity of the three Mo enzymes toward the three substrates are explored by comparison their relative activation barriers and thermodynamic factors in the rest six *** the one-step and stepwise mechanisms have been obtained,and the mechanistic scenarios of the "simple" OAT are *** the three Mo enzymes can promote the OAT from substrate DMSO to Mo IV center with feasible activation barriers,whereas the reverse reactions are conclusively *** sulfido ligand plays significant roles in the redox ***,the change of the coordination pattern of the Mo center in the labile oxo ligand departure plays vital roles in the mechanistic scenario *** thorough theoretical study offer very important clues for understanding and studying the OAT transfer in molybdenum enzymatic reactions.

Background:There is no agreement of the influence of patent ductus arteriosus(PDA)on outcomes in patients with necrotizing enterocolitis(NEC).In this study,we assessed the infl uence of PDA on NEC ***:A retrospective study of 131 infants with established NEC was ***(death,disease severity,need for surgery,hospitalization duration),as well as multiple clinical parameters were compared between NEC patients with no congenital heart disease(n=102)and those with isolated PDA(n=29).Univariate,multivariate and stepwise logistic regression analyses were ***:Birth weight and gestational age were significantly lower in patients with PDA[median(95%CI):1120 g(1009-1562 g),28.4 wk(27.8-30.5 wk)]than in those without PDA[median(95%CI):1580 g(1593-1905 g),32.4 wk(31.8-33.5 wk);Pgher in NEC patients with PDA(35%)than in NEC patients without PDA(14%)[univariate odds ratio(OR)=3.3,95%CI:1.8-8.6,Pgnificant independent predictors for nonsurvival within the entire cohort were advanced disease severity stage III(OR=27.9,95%CI:7.4-105,Pght below 1100 g(OR=5.7,95%CI:1.7-19.4,Pgroups are controlled,only birth weight and disease severity may independently predict mortality.
