Gastrointestinal infection is a leading cause of gut diseases attracting global health *** emerging antimicrobial resistance in enteric pathogens drives the search of viable and renewable alternatives to antibiotics for the health of both human beings and ***-forming probiotic Bacillus have received extensively interests for their multiple health benefits,including the restoration of microbiota dysbiosis and the reduction of drug-resistant *** promising benefits are mainly attributed to the activity of structurally diverse Bacillus-derived metabolites,such as antibacterial compounds,short-chain fatty acids,and other small *** metabolites show the capacity to directly target either the individual or community of bacterial pathogens,and to potentiate both host cells and gut *** better understanding of the mechanisms by which probiotic Bacillus and the metabolites modulate the metabolism of hosts and microbiota will advance the screening and development of probiotic *** this review,we discuss the interaction among probiotic Bacillus,microbiota and host,and summarize the Bacillus-derived metabolites that act as key players in such interactions,shedding light on the mechanistic understanding of probiotic Bacillus against enteric bacterial infections.

We systematically study the magnetic dipole moments of multiquark *** this study,the magnetic dipole moments of possible B^(−)B^(∗−),B^(0)B^(∗−),B^(−)B^(∗0),B^(0)B^(∗0),B_(s)^(0)B^(∗−),B_(−)B_(s)^(∗0),B_(s)^(0)B^(∗0),B^(0)B_(s)^(∗0),and B_(s)^(0)B_(s)^(∗0) states are extracted using light-cone sum *** explore the magnetic dipole moments of these states in a molecular picture with spin-parity JP=1^(+).The magnetic dipole moments of hadrons include useful information on the distributions of internal charge and magnetization,which can be used to understand their geometrical shapes and quark-gluon *** results of the present study along with the spectroscopic parameters may help future theoretical and experimental research on the characteristics of doubly-bottom tetraquark states.

We present the first evidence for the binarity of four targets in the TESS *** temperatures are estimated by SED analysis and the orbital periods are *** TESS light curves of the systems are analyzed and the orbital and the absolute parameters are *** targets are also compared to wellstudied binary systems with the same morphological type and their evolutionary states are *** results indicate that the stars belong to the class of eclipsing detached binary systems.

Investigation of Heat Transfer Augmentation between the Ribbed Plates via Taguchi Approach and Computational Fluid Dynamics

Heat transfer and turbulent flow characteristics between the ribbed plates have been numerically studied in the present *** ribs with the rectangular cross-section have been placed on the top and the bottom plates of the duct,*** is assumed that the fluid at 300 K has entered the system while the walls kept at 400 *** numerical analyses have been performed by k-ωShear Stress Transport(SST)turbulence model for Re=10000,15000 and *** the fixed rib width,the dimensionless height and the dimensionless spacing have been respectively varied as 0.1≤h’≤0.3 and 0.5≤S’≤1,and the results have been compared with the ones of the smooth *** though there are twenty-seven cases obtained as a result of parametric combinations,the number of various cases has been reduced from twenty-seven to only nine different variations by applying the Taguchi ***,the effects of all the considered parameters on the heat transfer and flow characteristics have been determined in terms of the influence *** optimum parameters for Nusselt number and pressure loss have been ascertained *** is more,the almost exact values for Nusselt number and pressure loss have also been attained by the confirmation test having an error percentage of 6%.The most dominant factor has been determined as the rib height due to its effect on both heat transfer and flow ***,with respect to the numerical results,increasing the rib height,the rib spacing and Reynolds number has separately increased Nusselt ***,symmetrical flow structure has been disturbed as a result of ascending the rib height as clearly seen for h’=0.3 from the *** the meantime,pressure loss has been augmented owing to the increment of the geometrical parameters and also Reynolds number.h’=0.1 with S’=0.5 at Re=10000,h’=0.2 with S’=0.5 at Re=15000 and h’=0.1 with S’=0.75 at Re=15000 can be suggested for the heat transfer enhancement since the press

Monitoring photodynamic therapy of head and neck malignancies with optical spectroscopies

In recent years there has been significant developments in photosensitizers(PSs), light sources and light delivery systems that have allowed decreasing the treatment time and skin phototoxicity resulting in more frequent use of photodynamic therapy(PDT) in the clinical settings. Compared to standard treatment approaches such as chemo-radiation and surgery, PDT has much reduced morbidity for head and neck malignancies and is becoming an alternative treatment option. It can be used as an adjunct therapy to other treatment modalities without any additive cumulative side effects. Surface illumination can be an option for pre-malignant and early-stage malignancies while interstitial treatment is for debulking of thick tumors in the head and neck region. PDT can achieve equivalent or greater efficacy in treating head and neck malignancies, suggesting that it may be considered as a first line therapy in the future. Despite progressive development, clinical PDT needs improvement in several topics for wider acceptance including standardization of protocols that involve the same administrated light and PS doses and establishing quantitative tools for PDT dosimetry planning and response monitoring. Quantitative measures such as optical parameters, PS concentration, tissueoxygenation and blood flow are essential for accurate PDT dosimetry as well as PDT response monitoring and assessing therapy outcome. Unlike conventional imaging modalities like magnetic resonance imaging, novel optical imaging techniques can quantify PDT-related parameters without any contrast agent administration and enable real-time assessment during PDT for providing fast feedback to clinicians. Ongoing developments in optical imaging offer the promise of optimization of PDT protocols with improved outcomes.

Robust subsynchronous interaction damping controller for DFIG-based wind farms

This paper proposes a robust controller to improve power system stability and mitigate subsynchronous interaction(SSI)between doubly-fed induction generator(DFIG)-based wind farms and series compensated transmission lines.A robust stability analysis is first carried out to show the impact of uncertainties on the SSI *** uncertainties are mainly due to the changes in the power system impedance(e.g.,transmission line outages)and the variations of wind farm operating ***,using theμ-synthesis technique,a robust SSI damping controller is designed and augmented to the DFIG control system to effectively damp the SSI *** output signals of the supplementary controller are dynamically limited to avoid saturating the converters and to provide DFIG with the desired fault-ride-through(FRT)operation during power system *** proposed controller is designed for a realistic test system with multiple series capacitor compensated *** frequency of the unstable SSI mode varies over a wide range due to the changes in power system topologies and wind farm operating *** performance of the proposed controller is verified through electromagnetic transient(EMT)simulations using a detailed wind farm *** results also confirm the grid compliant operation of the DFIG.

Prediction of wear loss quantities of ferro-alloy coating using different machine learning algorithms

In this study,experimental wear losses under different loads and sliding distances of AISI 1020 steel surfaces coated with(wt.%)50FeCrC‐20FeW‐30FeB and 70FeCrC‐30FeB powder mixtures by plasma transfer arc welding were *** dataset comprised 99 different wear amount measurements obtained experimentally in the *** linear regression(LR),support vector machine(SVM),and Gaussian process regression(GPR)algorithms are used for predicting wear quantities.A success rate of 0.93 was obtained from the LR algorithm and 0.96 from the SVM and GPR algorithms.

We investigate some problems for truncated Toeplitz operators. Namely, the solvability of the Riccati operator equation on the set of all truncated Toeplitz operators on the model space Kθ = H^2θθH^2 is studied. We study in terms of Berezin symbols invertibility of model operators. We also prove some results for the Berezin number of the truncated Toeplitz operators. Moreover, we study some property for H2-functions in terms of noncyclicity of co-analytic Toeplitz operators and hypercyclicity of model operators.

Wear tests are essential in the design of parts intended to work in environments that subject a part to high *** tests involve high cost and lengthy experiments,and require special test *** use of machine learning algorithms for wear loss quantity predictions is a potentially effective means to eliminate the disadvantages of experimental methods such as cost,labor,and *** this study,wear loss data of AISI 1020 steel coated by using a plasma transfer arc welding(PTAW)method with FeCrC,FeW,and FeB powders mixed in different ratios were obtained experimentally by some of the researchers in our *** mechanical properties of the coating layers were detected by microhardness measurements and dry sliding wear *** wear tests were performed at three different loads(19.62,39.24,and 58.86 N)over a sliding distance of 900 *** this study,models have been developed by using four different machine learning algorithms(an artificial neural network(ANN),extreme learning machine(ELM),kernel-based extreme learning machine(KELM),and weighted extreme learning machine(WELM))on the data set obtained from the wear test *** R2 value was calculated as 0.9729 in the model designed with WELM,which obtained the best performance among the models evaluated.

Six Newly Discovered Eclipsing Binary Systems in the TESS field

We present the first detailed investigation of six eclipsing binary systems in the TESS *** TESS light curves of the targets are analyzed by determining the initial effective temperatures via SED *** absolute parameters are derived and the systems are compared to well-known binaries of the same *** show that CD-58791,CD-621257 and TYC 9356-355-1 are detached binary ***-54942 and UCAC4136-007295 are contact binaries while TYC 8508-1413-1 is a semidetached system.
