Development of Psychic Pain in the Context of Microcephaly and Abortion: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Background: In the year of 2015, evidence of a relation between Zika virus and the development of microcephaly in pregnant women who acquired the infection started to come up. Thus, it is extremely necessary that the analysis of the affliction affects these women in a biopsychosocial context, in order to discuss and comprehend in a more reliable manner the affection from the perception of the disease, origin, and psychic pain mechanisms. Methods: Systematic review with meta-analysis, using the PRISMA protocol. The study period was 2016 and the keywords included “microcephaly” and “abortion”, one at a time and then combined with the Boolean operator “AND.” The statistical analysis was done using the BioEstat 5.0 program. Calculation was based on an adjustment of Mantel-Haenszel random effect. Results: 41,046 registrations were found. Of this total, 40,992 articles were excluded because they only mentioned the fact or referred to spontaneous abortion, did not analyze abortion on the eyes of microcephaly, only treated with Zika virus, or were repeated. Limitations: Psychic pain and suffering need studies in the mother/son/disease relation, which were not found in the databases. The article was based on other sources. Conclusions: The pains vary in different areas of the female life, since internal conflicts, gender violence, stress, fear, insecurity, psychologic torture, grieve, loneliness, among other kinds of psychic suffering. More studies on psycho-emotional themes need to be promoted to discuss the female suffering on a wider vision, closer to the reality faced by these women.

The complex systems approach offers an opportunity to replace the extant pre-dominant mechanistic view on sport-related *** emphasis on the environment-system relationship,the applications of complexity principles,and the use of nonlinear dynamics mathematical tools propose a deep change in sport *** dynamics,ecological dynamics,and network approaches have been successfully applied to the study of different sport-related behaviors,from movement patterns that emerge at different scales constrained by specific sport contexts to game *** benefit from the use of such approaches in the understanding of technical,tactical,or physical conditioning aspects which change their meaning and dilute their *** creation of new learning and training strategies for teams and individual athletes is a main practical *** challenges for the future are investigating the influence of key control parameters in the nonlinear behavior of athlete-environment systems and the possible relatedness of the dynamics and constraints acting at different spatio-temporal scales in team *** sport-related phenomena can make useful contributions to a better understanding of complex systems and vice-versa.

Fine-scale analysis reveals a potential influence of forest management on the spatial genetic structure of Eremanthus erythropappus

How reliable is the ReaxFF potential for describing the structure of alkanethiols on gold?A molecular dynamics study

The structures of self-assembled monolayers(SAMs)of short(methyl)and long(hexyl)chain alkyl thiols on the clean gold(111)surface were modeled using for the Au–S interactions either the reactive ReaxFF potential or the well-known nonreactive Morse potential,while for the Au–Au interactions either the ReaxFF potential or an embeddedatom method(EAM).Analysis of the molecular dynamics(MD)trajectories of possible SAM structures suggests that disordering of interfacial Au atoms is definitely driven by the gold–sulphur *** MD results reveal a novel structure where two methanethiol molecules are bound to a gold adatom that has been lifted from the surface at 300 K,and the same kind of RS–Au–SR motif was also observed for hexanethiol at 600 K but not at 300 *** is more,the above motif is only observed for the reactive ReaxFF ***,these results are in clear agreement with recent experiments and more costly first principles-based MD *** findings strongly support the use of reactive potentials such as ReaxFF for gathering an accurate description of Au–S interactions in inexpensive classical MD simulations.

Post-COVID recovery and renewal through whole-of-society resilience in cities

This paper explores and extends understanding of the role and significance of whole-of-society resilience pro-grammes that support cities when dealing with complex crises,like the COVID-19 *** the complexity of whole-of-society resilience as different actors locally shape it,we ask the question:How can collab-oration between formal and informal resilience practices help to enhance resilience across the‘whole-of-society’?We answer this question by reviewing the importance of whole-of-society resilience and its complexity in a city’s governance of the COVID-19 *** argue that the necessity of renewing approaches to building lo-cal resilience capabilities across the whole-of-society requires synchronisation across and between formal and informal approaches-that is,“bottom-up”and governmental initiatives-to meet the diverse needs of ***,we detail two recent practice-orientated initiatives that have taken a renewal approach to building resilience through the involvement of whole-of-society in planning recovery from COVID-19 using in-ternational standard ISO/TS 22393;and a new initiative called the national Consortium for Societal Resilience[UK+].Finally,we signpost a set of critical questions for whole-of-society resilience practice.

An Improved Methodology to Overcome Key Issues in Human Fecal Metagenomic DNA Extraction

Microbes are ubiquitously distributed in nature, and recent culture-independent studies have highlighted the significance of gut microbiota in human health and disease. Fecal DNA is the primary source for the majority of human gut microbiome studies. However, further improvement is needed to obtain fecal metagenomic DNA with sufficient amount and good quality but low host genomic DNA contamination. In the current study, we demonstrate a quick, robust, unbiased, and cost-effective method for the isolation of high molecular weight （〉 23 kb） metagenomic DNA （260/280 ratio 〉 1.8） with a good yield （55.8 ± 3.8 ng/mg of feces）. We also confirm that there is very low human genomic DNA contamination （eubacterial： human genomic DNA marker genes = 227.9：1） in the human feces. The newly-developed method robustly performs for fresh as well as stored fecal samples as demonstrated by 16S rRNA gene sequencing using 454 FLX＋. Moreover, 16S rRNA gene analysis indicated that compared to other DNA extraction methods tested, the fecal metagenomic DNA isolated with current methodology retains species richness and does not show microbial diversity biases, which is further confirmed by qPCR with a known quantity of spike-in genomes. Overall, our data highlight a protocol with a balance between quality, amount, user-friendliness, and cost effectiveness for its suitability toward usage for cultureindependent analysis of the human gut microbiome, which provides a robust solution to overcome key issues associated with fecal metagenomic DNA isolation in human gut microbiome studies.

Screening for Spikelet Fertility and Validation of Heat Tolerance in a Large Rice Mutant Population

A total of 10 000 M4 individuals in Jao Hom Nil (JHN) mutant population was treated with high temperature (40 ℃ to 45 ℃) during the day time (6 h) from the booting to the harvesting stages, and ambient temperature (33 ℃ to 35℃) was used as the control. The results of screening and yield trials found that the mutant line M9962 had a high spikelet fertility of 78% under heat stress. In addition, the other mutant lines, including M3181 and M7988, had a spikelet fertility of approximately 70%. However, the JHN wild type, Sin Lek, RD15 and RD33 had very low spikelet fertility of 34%, 14%, 9% and 4%, respectively. The lower spikelet fertility at an elevated temperature resulted in a dramatic decrease of filled grain and contributed to a loss in 100-grain weight. M9962 is a potential genetic stock for use in a heat tolerance breeding programme. In addition, spikelet fertility at high temperature was representative of heat tolerance and can be used as a screening trait for heat tolerance during the reproductive phase on a large scale.

Renin angiotensin system in liver diseases: Friend or foe?

In the last three decades,the understanding of the renin angiotensin system(RAS)has been changed by the discoveries of functional local systems,novel biologically active peptides,additional specific receptors,alternative pathways of angiotensin(Ang)?Ⅱ?generation,and new roles for enzymes and precursor components other than those in Ang?Ⅱ?*** this regard,the discovery that Ang-(1-7)opposes the pressor,proliferative,pro-fibrotic,and pro-inflammatory effects mediated by Ang?Ⅱ?has contributed to the realization that the RAS is composed of two *** first axis consists of the angiotensin-converting enzyme(ACE),with Ang?Ⅱ?as the end product,and the angiotensin type 1(AT1)receptor as the main effector mediating the biological actions of Ang?Ⅱ.The second axis results from ACE2-mediated hydrolysis of Ang?Ⅱ,leading to the production of Ang-(1-7),with the Mas receptor as the main effector conveying the vasodilatory,antiproliferative,anti-fibrotic,and anti-inflammatory effects of Ang-(1-7).Experimental and clinical studies have shown that both axes of the RAS may take part in the pathogenesis of liver *** this manuscript,we summarize the current evidence regarding the role of RAS in hepatic cirrhosis and its complications,including hemodynamic changes and hepatorenal *** therapeutic potential of the modulation of RAS molecules in liver diseases is also discussed.
