An exper.ment was conducted on Fluvisols of Awassa for.two consecutive year. （2005-2006） to deter.ine effects of planting patter. and plant density on dr. matter.accumulation, nodulation, pr.tein and oil content in ear.y and late matur.ng soybean var.eties. r.sults indicated that Awassa-95 var.ety pr.duced significantly higher.（P 〈 0.05） number.of nodules/plant （NDN）, nodule dr. matter.（NDM） and leaf dr. matter.（LDM at r. （mid flower.ng） stage of soybean gr.wth than that of var.ety Belessa-95）. Similar.y, var.ety Awassa-95 （45%） pr.duced significantly higher.pr.tein content than var.ety Belessa-95 （40%）. However. var.ety Belessa-95 accumulated significantly higher.（P 〈 0.01） dr. matter.in str.w, gr.in and total biomass at r. （physiological matur.ty） stage of soybean gr.wth than var.ety Awassa-95. Similar.y, oil content of var.ety Belessa-95 （18.1%） was significantly （P 〈 0.05） higher.than that of var.ety Awassa-95 （15.9%）. Equidistant r.ws pr.duced significantly higher.（P 〈 0.05） NDM than either.r.ctangular.or.pair.d r.ws. Mor.over. soybean plants gr.wn in both r.ctangular.and equidistant r.ws pr.duced significantly higher.（P 〈 0.01） str.w dr. matter.than those gr.wn in pair.d r.ws; but, gr.in dr. matter.plant （GDM） was significantly higher.（P 〈 0.01） pair.d and r.ctangular.r.ws compar.d to equidistant r.ws. Plant density also affected the per.plant GDM pr.duction as it was significantly higher.（P 〈 0.01） in 20 and 30 plants/m2 than higher.plant densities （40 and 50 plants/m2）. However. dr. matter.and yield components had str.ng negative association with pr.tein content. In fact, str.ng positive cor.elation （r.〉 0.600） occur.ed between gr.in yield and its components with dr. matter.components at r. （stem dr. matter.（SDM）, leaf dr. matter.（LDM） and stem ＋ nodule ＋ leaf dr. matter.together.known as TDM） and str.w dr. matter.at r. in both var.eties. This study depicted that soybean plants that pr.duce higher.dr. matter.components at r. would pr.bably pr.duce mor. str.w

Pencycur.n is a non-systemic pr.tective fungicide for.contr.lling sheath blight of r.ce. However. infor.ation on the fate of pencycur.n in r.ce plant is lacking. The degr.dation of pencycur.n in water.ogged tr.pic r.ce field was *** was applied at r.commended field dose (187.5 g a.i./ha) and double r.commended dose to cr.pped plots for.thr.e consecutive year.. Pencycur.n was r.pidly degr.ded in r.ce plant at all doses of pencycur.n application with fir.t or.er.half-lives of 1.57～2.77 d. The study r.vealed that pencycur.n is safe fr.m the human and envir.nmental contamination point of view.

This study aims to beneficiate low gr.de goethitic ir.n or. fines using a selective flocculation pr.cess. Selective flocculation studies wer. conducted using differ.nt polymer. such as star.h amylopectin(AP), poly acr.lic acid(PAA), and a gr.ft copolymer.AP-g-PAA). The obtained r.sults wer. analyzed; they indicate the enhancement of the ir.n or. gr.de fr.m 58.49% to 67.52% using AP-g-PAA with a r.cover. of 95.08%. In addition, 64.45% Fe with a r.cover. of 88.79% was obtained using AP. Similar.y, using PAA, the gr.de incr.ased to 63.46% Fe with a r.cover. of 82.10%. The findings ar. also suppor.ed by char.cter.zing concentr.tes using X-r.y diffr.ction(Xr.) and electr.n pr.be micr.analysis(EPMA) techniques.

The mechanical, electr.cal, and ther.al expansion pr.per.ies of car.on nanotube（CNT）-based silver.and silver.palladium（10：1, w/w） alloy nanocomposites ar. r.por.ed. To tailor.the pr.per.ies of silver. CNTs wer. incor.or.ted into a silver.matr.x by a modified molecular.level-mixing pr.cess. CNTs inter.ct weakly with silver.because of their.non-r.active natur. and lack of mutual solubility. Ther.for., palladium was utilized as an alloying element to impr.ve inter.acial adhesion. Compar.tive micr.str.ctur.l char.cter.zations and pr.per.y evaluations of the nanocomposites wer. per.or.ed. The str.ctur.l char.cter.zations r.vealed that decor.ted type-CNTs wer. disper.ed, embedded, and anchor.d into the silver.matr.x. The exper.mental r.sults indicated that the modification of the silver.and silver.palladium nanocomposite with CNT r.sulted in incr.ases in the har.ness and Young＇s modulus along with concomitant decr.ases in the electr.cal conductivity and the coefficient of ther.al expansion（CTE）. The har.ness and Young＇s modulus of the nanocomposites wer. incr.ased by 30%？40% wher.as the CTE was decr.ased to 50%-60% of the CTE of silver. The significantly impr.ved CTE and the mechanical pr.per.ies of the CNT-r.infor.ed silver.and silver.palladium nanocomposites ar. cor.elated with the intr.guing pr.per.ies of CNTs and with good inter.acial adhesion between the CNTs and silver.as a r.sult of the fabr.cation pr.cess and the contact action of palladium as an alloying element.

Imidaclopr.d is a newly intr.duced br.ad-spectr.m chlor.nicotinyl insecticide and will find its way in agr.cultur.l pr.duction, par.icular.y in Asia. However. infor.ation on the fate of imidaclopr.d in cr.p plants is lacking. The degr.dation of imidaclopnd in pr.cessed CTC tea and tea liquor.was investigated in the pr.sent study in which imidaclopr.d was applied at r.commended application r.te （30.0 g a.i./ha） and twice the r.commended application r.te （60.0 g a.i./ha） for.thr.e consecutive seasons. Imidaclopr.d was r.pidly dissipated in pr.cessed tea following fir.t or.er.r.action kinetics at all application r.tes and had half-lives of 0.9 1-1.16 d with the r.sidue in tea liquor.found to be below detectable limit on 3r. day samples. The study r.vealed that imidaclopr.d is safe for.human consumption and will not pose any r.sidual toxicity pr.blem.

Single Fully Differ.ntial Second Gener.tion Cur.ent Conveyor.Based Four.Quadr.nt Analog Multiplier.Design and Its Applications

This manuscr.pt pr.sents a new four.uadr.nt analog multiplier.using a r.cently r.por.ed cur.ent mode active building block, namely the Fully differ.ntial second gener.tion cur.ent conveyor.FDCCⅡ).The pr.posed cir.uit employs single FDCCⅡ and two NMOSFETs only, thus has simple ar.hitectur.. It is fully-integr.ble as no other.exter.al passive component has been used. Non-ideal behaviour.of the r.por.ed configur.tion has been analysed consider.ng cur.ent and voltage tr.cking er.or. of the FDCCⅡ. Wor.ability of the der.ved multiplier.is ver.fied with PSPICE(Cadence16.6) simulations using model par.meter.of TSMC 0.35μm CMOS pr.cess and found to be in close agr.ement with theor.tical anticipations. The static power.consumption of the cir.uit is 0.107 mW. The cir.uit wor.s well with good linear.ty(nonlinear.ty er.or.≤ 0.96%) for.the input voltage r.nge of ±0.5 V for.a supply voltage of ±1 V and the output is insensitive to temper.tur. var.ation. Simulation r.sults show that the –3 dB bandwidth of the pr.posed multiplier.is 20.67 MHz and the output r.fer.ed noise√is less than 9 nV/Hz at 1 kΩ load condition. MonteCar.o analysis has also been per.or.ed for.the pr.posed configur.tion. The applicability of the r.por.ed multiplier.as amplitude modulator. squar.r. and fr.quency doubler.ar. also demonstr.ted.
