A functionalized silicon nanowire field-effect transistor （SiNW FET） was fabricated to detect single molecules in the pM range to detect disease at the early stage with a sensitive, robust, and inexpensive method with the ability to provide specific and reliable data. The device was designed and fabricated by indented ash trimming via shallow anisotropic etching. The approach is a simple and low-cost technique that is compatible with the current commercial semiconductor standard CMOS process without an expensive deep reactive ion etcher. Specific electric changes were observed for DNA sensing when the nanowire surface was modified with a complementary captured DNA probe and target DNA through an organic linker （--OCH2CH3） using organofunctional alkoxysilanes （3-aminopropyl） triethoxysilane （APTES）. With this surface modification, a single specific target molecule can be detected. The simplicity of the sensing domain makes it feasible to miniaturize it for the development of a cancer detection kit, facilitating its use in both clinical and non-clinical environments to allow non-expert interpretation. With its novel electric response and potential for mass commercial fabrication, this biosensor can be developed to become a portable/point of care biosensor for both field and diagnostic applications.

Gallium nitride(GaN)/porous silicon(PSi)film was prepared using a pulsed laser deposition method and 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser for optoelectronic applications and a series of Psi substrates were fabricated using a photoelectrochemical etching method assisted by laser at different etching times for 2.5–15 min at 2.5 min intervals.X-ray diffraction,room-temperature photoluminescence,atomic force microscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy images,and electrical characteristics in the prepared GaN on the Psi film were *** optimum Psi substrate was obtained under the following conditions:10 min,10 mA/cm^(2),and 24%hydrofluoric *** substrate exhibited two highly cubic crystalline structures at(200)and(400)orientations and yellow visible band photoluminescence,and homogeneous pores formed over the entire *** pores had steep oval shapes and were accompanied by small dark pores that appeared topographically and *** GaN/Psi film fabricated through PLD exhibited a high and hexagonal crystallographic texture in the(002)*** properties results revealed that the photoluminescence emission of the deposited nano-GaN films was in the ultraviolet band(374 nm)related to GaN material and in the near-infrared band(730 nm)related to the Psi *** topographical and morphological results of the GaN films confirmed that the deposited film contained spherical grains with an average diameter of 51.8 nm and surface roughness of 4.8 *** GaN/Psi surface showed a cauliflower-like morphology,and the built-in voltage decreased from 3.4 to 2.7 eV after *** fabricated GaN/Psi film exhibited good electrical characteristics.

Exploration of Influential People for Viral Marketing

Exploration of influential people is really a hot issue for effective viral marketing these days. Prior studies overlooked to consider the influence of interaction between users and the authority of users during information dissemination. In this article, we proposed an innovative concept by employing communication strength and authority in order to explore the influential people. First, we calculated communication strength by three kinds of actions including retweets, comments and mentions. Second, we deliberated authority metric by employing total times getting re-tweeted, number of tweets and followers of a user. Then, we propose a novel algorithm called Influential People Label Propagation Algorithm(IPLPA) that considers the proposed metric to explore the influential people in micro-blog networks. We performed extensive experiments to measure the influence and rank of each person within micro-blog network. The comparative study presents that IPLPA depicted effective people while baseline algorithms retrieved low influenced people at top rank. Additionally, influence dissemination also measured for obtained influential people in order to validate proposed concept. The findings of this study would be useful for viral marketing and advertisement campaigns.

New data are presented for the rare-metal bearing A-type granitoids of the AlGhurayyah stock in the northwestern segment of the Arabian Shield, a composite pluton intruding metamorphosed volcano-sedimentary successions of the Silasia Formation. Metals in the granitoids are variably enriched, with up to 1 990 μg/g Zn, 7 680 μg/g Zr, 2 316 μg/g Nb, 232 μg/g Ta, 485 μg/g Hf, 670 μg/g Th, 137 μg/g u and 1 647 μg/g total rare earth elements(REE). The silexite is highly mineralized and yields higher maximum concentrations of several metals than the granitoids, including up to 1 860 μg/g Y, 9 400 μg/g Zr, 878 μg/g Hf, 1 000 μg/g Th, and 2 029 μg/g total REE. The Al-Ghurayyah stock has been assigned to an intraplate setting. Lithospheric delamination led to generation of mantle melts that supplied heat to melt the juvenile crust of the ANS. The fluorine and rare-metal enriched parental magma evolved by fractional crystallization. The quartz-rich silexite, distinct in character from ordinary hydrothermal vein quartz, is inferred to be co-genetic with the granitoids on the basis of their similar REE patterns;it is interpreted as a small volume of residual magma enriched in SiO2, volatiles, and trace metals. Mineralization took place both at the magmatic stage and later during a hydrothermal stage that concentrated these elements to economic grades.

Objective: To evaluate the antidiabetic and antioxidant ef ects of aqueous ethanolic extract of Caesalpinia ferrea(C. ferrea) leaf in normal and streptozotocin(STZ) induced diabetic ***: Male Sprague-Dawley rats divided into 6 groups of 6 rats each were assigned into diabetic and non-diabetic groups. Diabetes was induced in rats by single intraperitoneal administration of STZ(65 mg/kg body weight). C. ferrea extract at the doses of 250 and 500 mg/kg body weight was orally administered to both diabetic and non-diabetic animals for a period of 30 days. After completion of experimental duration serum, liver and pancreas were used for evaluating biochemical and histopathological ***: Oral administration of C. ferrea leaf extract significantly reduced elevated serum glucose, α-amylase, liver function levels and signii cantly increased serum insulin, total protein and body weight as well as improved lipid proi le due to diabetes. Furthermore, the treatment resulted in a marked increase in glutathione peroxidase, superoxide dismutase, catalase and reduced glutathione, and diminished levels of lipid peroxidation in liver and pancreas of diabetic rats. Histopathological studies demonstrated the reduction in the pancreas and liver damage and coni rmed the biochemical i ***: From the present study, it can be concluded that the C. ferrea leaf extract ef ectively improved hyperglycaemia while inhibiting the progression of oxidative stress in STZ-induced diabetic rats. Hence, it can be used in the management of diabetes mellitus.

Increasing need for materials with special features have brought various new inventions,one of the most promising hope for new material with special features and functionalities is composites ***,this study report an integration of zinc nanoparticles into kenaf/polyester polymer composite to introduce new behavior to the *** composite behaviors were compared for mechanical,thermal,moisture absorption and biodegradability *** Zinc Oxide nanoparticles entrenched in the kenaf/polyestaer composites net structure through chemical bonds between kenaf/ZnO/polyester resin,existence of ZnO significantly influence the mechanical and thermals properties of *** analysis based on(TGA)response revealed the integration of ZnO nanoparticles improved the thermal stability when thermal decomposition temperature beyond 3650 *** thermal cracking decreased with present of ZnO and increase with kenaf content(layers).The modulus,Tensile strength,break at elongation,flexural modulus,flexural strength and impact strength of the composites with higher content kenaf/ZnO nanoparticle are 560 MPa,58MPa,1.8%,1300 PMa,68 MPa and 31 MPa,***,addition of kenaf layers and ZnO results in larger mechanical properties enhancement,the results of the contact angle show improvement in wetting of the fibres with addition of ZnO nanoparticles.

Phytase, also known as phytate-degrading enzyme, catalyzes the hydrolysis of phytate (inositol hexakisphosphate) with sequential release of phosphate and lower inositol phosphate. We report here a new plasmid construct designated as pMSuia from pBAD-TOPO that harbors a 1.1 kb phytase gene (phyMS) from Mycobacterium smegmatis, and expression as well as characterization of the purified recombinant M. smegmatis phytase. DNA sequencing analysis and multiple alignment exercise indicated that the M. smegmatis phytase is different from both known acid and alkaline phytases. The active ~45 kDa recombinant enzyme was expressed and confirmed by enzyme assay and Western blot analyses. Ni-NTA affinity purified recombinant M. smegmatis phytase exhibited specific activity of 233.51 u/mg, optimal pH of 3 and 7 and optimal temperature of 60°C. The purified enzyme retains almost 30% of the initial activity after incubation at 90°C for 60 min. The enzyme showed broad substrate specificity with Km and Vmax of the recombinant enzyme for sodium phytate substrate of 0.105 ± 0.016 mM and 26.93 ± 1.21 mM min-1, respectively.

介绍了马来西亚2块巨草竹属天然林的4种采伐技术。采伐18个月后,发现采伐技术和竹丛的形式在新秆和秆枯损方面有很大的影响。在纳米和Betau地区的立地上没有太大的影响。结果表明:X形采伐技术由于其破坏性小和竹秆低部伐除(7.1%),因此在天然竹林的管理上值得推荐。同u形的采伐技术相比,这种方法好材率的产出高(7.6%),而且对新秆的破坏小(2.9%)。另外,建议丛生竹每丛只有26个杆,适于采用此方法。择伐更适于小丛竹。皆法不推荐采用巨草竹属天然林方法,因为丛生竹恢复慢。
