One common scenario during disasters such as earthquakes is that the activity of damage field reconnaissance on site is not well-coordinated. For example in Italy the damage assessment of structures after an earthquake is managed from the Italian Emergency Authority, using printed forms （AeDES） which are filled by experts on site generating a lot of confusion in filling and transferring the forms to the Disaster Management Operative Center. Because of this, the paper explores the viability of using mobile communication technologies （smart phones） and the Web to develop response systems that would aid communities after a major disaster, providing channels for allowing residents and responders ofuploading and distributing information, related to structural damages coordinating the damage field reconnaissance. A mobile application that can be run by residents on smart phones has been developed, to give an initial damage evaluation of the area, which is going to be very useful when resources （e.g. the number of experts is limited）. The mobile application has been tested for the first time during 2012 Emilia earthquake to enhance the emergency response, showing the efficiency of the proposed method in statistical terms comparing the proposed procedure with the standard procedure.

Xylanase is a hemicellulase that can hydrolyses the complex *** are main components of cell walls of cereal ***,hemicelluloses are considered as potential sources of mono-and *** this study,influence of xylanase on the physicochemical properties and sensory qualities of the whole wheat bread during storage was *** of whole wheat bread on microstructure,texture,thermotics,Scanning Electron Microscopic(SEM),X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)were conducted at ambient temperature of 25 and 4◦C *** storage at different temperatures,bread containing xylanase exhibited less firmness but larger volume with whiter crumb color and longer shelf life as compared to control *** of firmness,enthalpy,Fourier Transformation Infra Red(FTIR)and X-Ray Diffraction(XRD)studies suggested a lower staling rate of bread containing xylanase as compared to control *** containing xylanase showed a smoother surface and more uniform pore size than the *** differences in microstructure of control and bread containing xylanase were observed which might be attributed due to the change in water starch gluten *** differences were also found to be interrelated to the textural properties of *** sensory features were achieved in bread containing xylanase.

Damping improvement in composite structures via introducing nanofillers generally has remarkable negative effects on the other mechanical properties. Therefore, in the present work, SiC and A1203 nanoparticles＇ infusion effects on the flexural, interracial and vibration properties of epoxy matrix and glass fiber reinforced epoxy （gFR/E） laminates were investigated. unidirectional （uD-gFR/E） and quasi-isotropic （QI-gFR/E） laminates with [0/± 45/90]s and [90/±45/0]s stack- ing sequences were hybridized by the optimum nanoparticles percentages. Results from off-axis flexural strengths of uD-gFR/E demonstrate good fiber/nanophased-matrix interracial bonding. The interlaminar shear stress between the adjacent layers with different orientations/strains of duc- tile QI-gFR/SiC/E laminates results in decreasing the flexural strengths respectively by 24.3% and 9.1% for [0/±45/90]s and [90/± 45/0]s stacking sequences and increasing the dissipated interfacial friction energy and thus the damping by 105.7% and 26.1%. The damping of QI-gFR/E, QI-gFR/SiC/E and QI-gFR/AI203/E laminates with [90/± 45/0]s stacking sequence was increased by 111.4%, 29.7% and 32.9% respectively compared to [0/± 45/90]s stacking sequence.

The complement pathway is best known for its role in immune surveillance and inflammation. However,its ability of opsonizing and removing not only pathogens,but also necrotic and apoptotic cells,is a phylogenetically ancient means of initiating tissue repair. The means and mechanisms of complement-mediated tissue repair are discussed in this review. There is increasing evidence that complement activation contributes to tissue repair at several levels. These range from the chemo-attraction of stem and progenitor cells to areas of complement activation,to increased survival of various cell types in the presence of split products of complement,and to the production of trophic factors by cells activated by the anaphylatoxins C3 a and C5 a. This repair aspect of complement biology has not found sufficient appreciation until recently. The following will examine this aspect of complement biology with an emphasis on the anaphylatoxins C3 a and C5 a.

Elaborate experiments were performed in a 30 m long,0.5 m deep and 0.2 m wide laboratory flume to study the process of infiltration of fine sediment into the pores of coarse sediment forming the channel bed *** concentrations of suspended load of fine sediment of size 0.064 mm were passed over the channel bed made up of three different types of coarse sediments;two uniform and one *** proportion of fine sediment infiltrated into the pores of bed material for each equilibrium concentration of suspended load of fine sediment in the flow was studied during several experimental *** proportion of fine sediment within the pores of bed material increased with an increase in the equilibrium concentration of suspended load of fine sediment in the *** process continued till the pores within the coarse sediment bed were filled up to the capacity with the fine sediment transported by the flow in *** theoretical value was identified for limit for maximum proportion of fine sediment that can be present within the pores of bed *** further increase in the concentration of suspended load of fine sediment in the flow,deposition of fine sediment occurs on the surface of the flume bed in the form of ripples of the fine *** condition is defined as ’depositional condition’.Experimental observations on these and related aspects are presented herein.

This work aims to produce a high manganese steel with more refined austenite grains and better wear resistance without sacrificing the toughness and tensile properties by Mn alloying and Ti ladle treatment in comparision to ASTM A128 gr.E1 steel (1.0C-13Mn) that is mostly used in the mining *** 1.0C-17Mn-xTi alloys (x=0,0.05 and 0.1,in wt.%) were prepared.A relationship was established between the microstructures and mechanical properties of the as-cast and solution annealed *** Ti content increases the stable Ti(CN) phase on and beside the grain boundaries and decreases up to 37% the austenite grain size of the as-cast alloy with 0.10wt.% ***,after solution annealed,optimized titanium content (0.05wt.%) results in significant improvements in wear resistance,hardness,elongation,yield and tensile strengths by 44%,31%,30%,8% and 12%,respectively,except 9% decrease in impact toughness compared to ASTM A 128 gr.E1 steel without *** results show that 1.0C-17Mn-0.05Ti alloy can be used for parts exposed to high load wear and applied in conditions where relatively high tensile properties with sufficent ductility is needed.
