Mg-Zn-Zr(ZK)alloys exhibit notably high mechanical strength amongst all magnesium alloy grades.However,due to the formation of low melting point Mg_3Zn_7-precipitates,these alloys are susceptible to hot cracking,thus compromising their metallurgical processing.The addition of rare earths to ZK alloys is an alternative to form higher melting point intermetallic compounds,speed up dynamic recrystallization,refine grain size,enhance corrosion resistance and extend the service temperature due to improved creep resistance.This work deals with the effect of Ce-base mischmetal addition on the hot rolling behaviour of as-cast ZK60 alloy.The microstructure investigation conducted using electron microscopy and X-Ray diffraction shows that precipitation of Mg_(7)Zn_(3) intermetallics occur during hot rolling,whereas no further precipitation is observed for the ZK60-Mm alloys.The fragmentation of the intermetallic compounds occur during hot rolling and finer particles of Mg_(7)Zn_(3) are observed for the ZK60,whereas Mg_(7)Zn_(3) and Mg Zn_(2) Ce intermetallics are formed in the alloy modified with mischmetal addition.A higher fraction of dynamically recrystallized grains is observed for the ZK60-Mm in comparison to the ZK60.Continuous recrystallization takes place in ZK60 with the formation of sub-grains near to the intermetallics and the addition of mischmetal promotes the occurrence of discontinuous recrystallization with the nucleation of new grains close to the precipitates.The mechanical strength and,in particular,the ductility of the hot-rolled alloys are notably improved when compared to the same alloys in the as-cast condition.The mechanical strength is,however,higher for the ZK60 alloy.Less solid solution strengthening,softer Mg Zn_(2) Ce intermetallics and more extensive recrystallization contribute to reduce the mechanical strength of ZK60-Mm.Failure in both alloys are initiated at coarse intermetallics and propagate through intermetallic-rich regions.

Diabetic foot ulcerations have been extensively reported as vascular complications of diabetes mellitus associated with a high degree of morbidity and mortality. Diabetic foot syndrome(DFS), as defined by the World Health Organization, is an "ulceration of the foot(distally from the ankle and including the ankle) associated with neuropathy and different grades of ischemia and infection". Pathogenic events able to cause diabetic foot ulcers are multifactorial.Among the commonest causes of this pathogenic pathway it's possible to consider peripheral neuropathy, foot deformity, abnormal foot pressures, abnormal joint mobility, trauma, peripheral artery disease. Several studies reported how diabetic patients show a higher mortality rate compared to patients without diabetes and in particular these studies under filled how cardiovascular mortality and morbidity is 2-4 times higher among patients affected by type 2 diabetes mellitus. This higher degree of cardiovascular morbidity has been explained as due to the observed higher prevalence of major cardiovascular risk factor, of asymptomatic findings of cardiovascular diseases, and of prevalence and incidence of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events in diabetic patients with foot complications. In diabetes a fundamental pathogenic pathway of most of vascular complications has been reported as linked to a complex interplay of inflammatory, metabolic and procoagulant variables. These pathogenetic aspects have a direct interplay with an insulin resistance, subsequent obesity, diabetes, hypertension, prothrombotic state and blood lipid disorder. Involvement of inflammatory markers such as IL-6 plasma levels and resistin in diabetic subjects as reported by Tuttolomondo et al confirmed the pathogenetic issue of the a "adipo-vascular" axis that may contribute to cardiovascular risk in patients with type 2 diabetes. 【目的】研究中国咖啡主栽区咖啡种质资源圃中由专性寄生病原真菌咖啡驼孢锈菌(Hemileia vastatrix Berk.et Br.)引起的咖啡黄锈病(coffee leaf rust,CLR)致病类型,对保护中国咖啡种质资源以及指导主栽区抗性品种的布局和选育具有重要意义。【方法】收集分布在中国咖啡主栽区4个具有代表性的咖啡种质资源圃CLR病样,在超感病基因型寄主上进行扩繁及单孢分离,在特定基因型寄主上对咖啡驼孢锈菌的毒力基因进行鉴定,并推导出相应的致病类型。【结果】57份样品中,有42份样品(占73.68%)被成功扩繁,有27份样品(占64.29%)被保存。根据样品信息录入23个CIFC条目,共鉴定出3种致病类型:XXXⅦ(v_(2,5,6,7,9)),占86.96%,为优势致病类型;New race(v_(2,5,6,7)),占8.69%,为在中国种质资源圃CLR调查的首次报道;XXXIV(v_(2,5,7,9)),占4.35%。【结论】中国咖啡主栽区咖啡驼孢锈菌群体遗传结构正在发生改变,原有致病类型已渗入位于主栽区内的种质资源圃,并在基因型相近的寄主上加速进化;新的致病类型在主栽区内的咖啡基地和种质资源圃之间随机流动,并对当前主栽品种的抗性造成威胁。研究结果将为中国咖啡种质资源圃的科学管理提供重要依据,为CLR防控提供理论支持。

urinary bladder cancer(uBC)is a heterogeneous disease with highly variable clinical outcomes and responses to chemotherapy.Despite some advances in the molecular understanding of uBC,this knowledge still has not been translated to the clinic in terms of improvements in the prognosis and treatment of patients.Suitable urinary bladder tumor models representative of the human disease in terms of histology and behavior are needed to study factors involved in tumor initiation,progression and metastasis.Further,accurate model systems would facilitate identification of new therapeutic targets and predictive markers that could lead to optimization of existing therapies and development of new ones.Many established cancer cell lines derived from human urinary bladder tumors representing different grades and stages have been used as experimental models for uBC study.These cell lines reflect some of the genetic and morphologic alterations observed in human urothelial carcinoma and serve as simplified models to study the behavior of cancer cells in vitro.However,their translational potential is limited due to the artificial conditions,in which the cells are maintained,grown and tested.Animal models offer a more complex and realistic model for the establishment,development,and progression of tumors as well as to evaluate new therapeutic approaches.Over the years,the authors'group has worked with several uBC cell lines,established and characterized chemically induced uBC models,and patient-derived xenografts models.In this study,the authors will provide a summary of the uBC models developed by their group,analyze their translational potential and weaknesses,and define areas that remain to be explored.

Introduction: Advances in prenatal imaging studies have allowed early diagnosis of Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH), although neonatal mortality remains at high levels (60% survival). Despite advances, this study found delayed diagnosis, demonstrating subdiagnosis, possibly caused by lack of resources and/or prenatal diagnostic failure. Case Report 1: Infant, 4 months and 22 days old, dyspneic, cyanotic, with fever and vomiting for 3 days, treated as pneumonia. After the second chest radiography, a right CDH was revealed. Surgical correction was performed and removal of Meckel’s diverticulum was surgical findings. The patient was discharged on the 10th days after admission. Case Report 2: Infant, 11 months and 3 days old, distended abdomen, with fever and dyspnea for 2 days, treated as pneumonia. After the second chest radiography, a left CDH was revealed. The patient was submitted to surgery, intestinal loop incarceration without necrosis was observed, and the correction of CDH was performed. The patient was discharged on the 7th day after admission. Discussion: Three cases, between July 2012 and July 2013, were diagnosed at Dom Malam Hospital;2 Cases of CDH, with delayed diagnosis, showed incidence of 66.66%. Delayed diagnosis of these patients with initial hypotheses of pneumonia demonstrated high risk, emphasizing the importance of diagnosis research through observation of the clinical course, the correct imaging interpretation, in order to establish early diagnosis and treatment.

A 59-year-old nursing home patient with Down syndrome was brought to the internal medicine department of our hospital due to fever, cough without expectorate, and dyspnea. A thoracic computed tomography revealed the presence of bilateral basal parenchymal opacities. Her condition deteriorated after admission and troponin reached a peak serum concentration of 16.9 ng/m L. The patient was in cardiogenic shock. In addition to fluid resuscitation, vaso-active amine infusion was administered to achieve hemodynamic stabilization. The differential diagnosis investigated possible pulmonary embolism, myocardial infarction, and myocarditis. Furthermore, a second transthoracic echocardiogram suggested Tako-Tsubo syndrome. This is a septic patient. The purpose of this manuscript is to review studies which formerly examined the possible association between high levels of troponin and mortality to see if it can be considered a positive predictive factor of fatal prognosis as the case of thrombocytopenia, already a positive independent predictive factor of multiple organ failure syndrome, and generally to characterize risk profile in a septic patient.

Development of synthetic bone substitutes has arisen as a major research interest in the need to find an alternative to autologous bone grafts.using an ovine model,the present pre-clinical study presents a synthetic bone graft(BonelikeVR)in combination with a cellular system as an alternative for the regeneration of non-critical defects.The association of biomaterials and cell-based therapies is a promising strategy for bone tissue engineering.Mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs)from human dental pulp have demonstrated both in vitro and in vivo to interact with diverse biomaterial systems and promote mineral deposition,aiming at the reconstruction of osseous defects.Moreover,these cells can be found and isolated from many species.Non-critical bone defects were treated with BonelikeVR with or without MSCs obtained from the human dental pulp.Results showed that BonelikeVR and MSCs treated defects showed improved bone regeneration compared with the defects treated with BonelikeVR alone.Also,it was observed that the biomaterial matrix was reabsorbed and gradually replaced by new bone during the healing process.We therefore propose this combination as an efficient binomial strategy that promotes bone growth and vascularization in non-critical bone defects.
