This study investigated the calcareous nannofossil assemblages in detail from the early Miocene aged Lice Formation outcropping in the Kahramanmara? basin. The biostratigraphy of calcareous nannofossils was outlined and paleoenvironmental features determined. In 81 samples taken from three measured sections in the region, 17 calcareous nannofossil genus and 48 nannofossil species were identified. These calcareous nannofossil genus and species identified the Lice Formation as being in the CNM4 nannofossil biozone. The abundance and diversity of early Miocene calcareous nannofossil species varied in the measured sections, with the samples generally moderate-poor, apart from a few samples. The relative abundance of individuals of Cyclicargolithus floridanus, Coccolithus pelagicus, Reticulofenestra hagii and Sphenolithus moriformis species, with paleoecological importance identified in the study region, indicate that in early Miocene times, the basin in which the Lice Formation deposited was meso-eutrophic with excess nutrient input, temperate and generally stable shallow marine conditions.

Landslides are quite common natural hazards in the eastern Black Sea region of NE *** the heavy rainfall in the K?prülü(Rize)village settlement area,located in this region where the slope debris overlies the agglomerates,a failure *** to the developed tension cracks and deformations on the ground,houses,tea gardens,and roads were damaged *** figure out the causes and mechanism of the sliding and to suggest the precautions,a detailed geotechnical study was carried *** the five survey lines,twelve boreholes were drilled with a total depth of 300 ***,the geophysical surveys on ten profiles were conducted and the inclinometer measurements were taken in five *** and disturbed samples were collected and laboratory experiments were *** measurements indicated that the sliding started in the slope debris and then spread to the agglomeratic *** slope stability was examined using the limit equilibrium(LE)and finite element(FEM)analysis *** results of the slope stability analyses showed that the failure mode is talus slide with composite shape and outputs coincide with the inclinometer monitoring *** on the collected data,it is determined that there will be unavoidable engineering problems if no precautions are *** of the negative reasons which make the application of supporting methods meaningless in the study area,it is considered that transferring the residences to a safer place without risk of natural hazards will be economical and reliable.

Zn-5wt% Al eutectic alloy was directionally solidified with different growth rates （5.32-250.0μm/s） at a constant temperature gradient of 8.50 K/mm using a Bridgman-type growth *** values of eutectic spacing were measured from transverse sections of the *** dependences of the eutectic spacing and undercooling on growth rate are determined as λ=9.21V-0.53 and ΔT=0.0245V0.53,*** results obtained in this work were compared with the Jackson-Hunt eutectic theory and the similar experimental results in the *** of directionally solidified samples was also measured by using a microhardness test *** dependency of the microhardness on growth rate is found as Hv=***,the electrical resistivity （r） of the casting alloy changes from 40×10-9 to 108×10-9 Ω·m with the temperature rising in the range of 300-630 *** enthalpy of fusion （ΔH） and specific heat （Cp） for the Zn-Al eutectic alloy are calculated to be 113.37 J/g and 0.309 J/（g·K）,respectively by means of differential scanning calorimetry （DSC） from heating trace during the transformation from liquid to solid.

The thermal nanofluids have garnered widespread attention for their use in multiple thermal systems, including heating processes, sustainable energy, and nuclear reactions. Research on nanofluids has revealed that the thermal efficiencies of such materials are adversely affected by various thermal features. The purpose of the current work is to demonstrate the thermal analysis of Jeffrey nanofluids with the suspension of microorganisms in the presence of variable thermal sources. The variable effects of thermal conductivity, Brownian diffusivity, and motile density are utilized. The investigated model also reveals the contributions of radiation phenomena and chemical reactions. A porous, saturated, moving surface with a suction phenomenon promotes flow. The modeling of the problem is based on the implementation of the Cattaneo-Christov *** convective thermal constraints are used to promote the heat transfer features. A simplified form of the governing model is treated with the assistance of a shooting technique. The physical effects of different parameters for the problem are presented. The current problem justifies its applications in heat transfer, coating processes, heat exchangers, cooling systems in microelectronics, solar systems, chemical processes, etc.

Exploration of the Seaweed Resources in Nigeria: A Case Study of Lagos Coastal Waters

This study provides an in-depth exploration of seaweed biodiversity in Nigeria’s coastal waters, a largely unexplored area for marine resources. There is a dearth of sufficient data on seaweed biodiversity in Nigeria. The research aimed to assess the diversity and distribution of seaweeds in this region. Seaweed samples were collected by hand, using scrapers, at low tide from four stations identified by local fisherfolk and commercial divers. These samples were analyzed in the laboratory for species identification. A total of 39 seaweed taxa were identified, with Rhodophyta (red algae) being the most abundant (74%), followed by Chlorophyta (green algae) (21%) and Heterokontophyta (brown algae) (5%). The highest biomass species included Grateloupia sp., Chaetomorpha antennina, Gracilaria sp., Ceratodictyon variabile, Cladophora sp., Gelidium pusillum, ulva sp., Blidingia minima, and Caloglossa leprieurii. Species abundance was highest on breakwater rocks and on the bodies of anchored or sunken vessels, while sandy beaches exhibited lower abundance. The findings reveal significant potential for Nigeria’s seaweed in aquaculture, climate change mitigation, and biotechnology. The study recommends further molecular research, expansion of sampling areas, and the development of sustainable seaweed cultivation practices to support Nigeria’s blue economy.

Inter-relationship of Various Results in Analysis of （14.0 MeV／u） Pb＋Pb Reaction using Mica and CN-85 Track Detectors

Two detector materials mica and cellulose-nitrate(CN)-85 have been used to study (14.0MeV/u) Pb + Pb reaction. Events of different multiplicities were registered in mica and CN-85 detectors using the 2π-geometry technique of solid state nuclear track detection. After removing the target material from the detectors the damaged trails in the detectors were revealed as tracks by proper chemical etching. The irradiated area of each sample was scanned and events of different multiplicities were traced. The binary events were bifurcated into elastic and inelastic events. The elastic binary events and three prong events, observed in the reaction, have been used to search out coefficients Cμν in the presence of both the detectors, for the reaction under study. using these coefficients 3- and 4-prong events have been analysed. From the detailed analysis of the results of (14.0MeV/u) Pb+Pb reaction, obtained from mica and CN-85 track detectors we observed a great resemblance of results obtained from the two detectors. Combining the results of both the detectors, we report some important outcomes.

Functionally graded composite/hybrid materials（FGCM/FGHCM） were produced by adding B4C, TiO2, and B4C+TiO2ceramic materials at various ratios（0-50%） into the AA6082 matrix. The analysis of the damage caused by60Co ions'（1.173-1.1332 MeV） on the material was examined using the SRIM/TRIM Monte Carlo simulation software. In the simulation, the following data regarding the atoms of the target materials were obtained: ion distribution, target ionization, total displacements, surface binding energy,lattice binding energy, and displacement energy. Among the studied four materials, the one with the highest ion range value was found to be AA6082 with 8550 ?. TiO2was found to be the reinforcement material that reduced the ion range the most in the material. Due to its high binding energy, B4C reinforced AA6082+（0-50%） B4C FGCM was found to have the least vacancy with 4782/ion.

Damping improvement in composite structures via introducing nanofillers generally has remarkable negative effects on the other mechanical properties. Therefore, in the present work, SiC and A1203 nanoparticles＇ infusion effects on the flexural, interracial and vibration properties of epoxy matrix and glass fiber reinforced epoxy （GFR/E） laminates were investigated. unidirectional （uD-GFR/E） and quasi-isotropic （QI-GFR/E） laminates with [0/± 45/90]s and [90/±45/0]s stack- ing sequences were hybridized by the optimum nanoparticles percentages. Results from off-axis flexural strengths of uD-GFR/E demonstrate good fiber/nanophased-matrix interracial bonding. The interlaminar shear stress between the adjacent layers with different orientations/strains of duc- tile QI-GFR/SiC/E laminates results in decreasing the flexural strengths respectively by 24.3% and 9.1% for [0/±45/90]s and [90/± 45/0]s stacking sequences and increasing the dissipated interfacial friction energy and thus the damping by 105.7% and 26.1%. The damping of QI-GFR/E, QI-GFR/SiC/E and QI-GFR/AI203/E laminates with [90/± 45/0]s stacking sequence was increased by 111.4%, 29.7% and 32.9% respectively compared to [0/± 45/90]s stacking sequence.
