The stu.y was carried ou. to evalu.te the hypolipidemic and hypoglycemic effect of Nelu.bo nu.ifera leaf powder. In rats, hyperlipidemia was indu.ed by feeding High Fat Diet (Lab diet: Dalda: Coconu. oil = 4:3:1) and type 2 diabetes was bu.lt inside by injecting Alloxan. The sample N. nu.ifera leaf powder was added in different percentages with the regu.ar Lab Diet for 21 days feeding. In case of hyperlipidemia developed grou.s, feeding of Nelu.bo nu.ifera leaf powder at, 30% (70% Lab diet + 30% Sample), 20% (80% Lab diet + 20% Sample) and 10% (90% Lab diet + 10% Sample) showed varied bu. in a nu.shell significant (p Nelu.bo nu.ifera leaf powder for 21 days resu.ted significant decrease in the blood glu.ose levels of alloxan-indu.ed diabetic rats. Both the percentages of Nelu.bo nu.ifera leaf powder having 20% with 80% Lab Diet and 10% with 90% Lab Diet significantly (p Nelu.bo nu.ifera powder was fou.d to be exerted to the more prominent effects in lowering the blood glu.ose level. Nelu.bo nu.ifera leaf powder had 75% efficacy rate in lowering the blood glu.ose level in comparison to the dru. control grou. treated with glibenclamide which was fou.d with the decreasing capability u. to 66%. Althou.h not significant, it, based on the data, can be stated that the sample is endowed with the qu.lity of decreasing capability of body weight. Thu., resu.ts of the experimental stu.y reveal that the leaf of Nelu.bo nu.ifera has potent hypoglycemic and hypolipidemic properties.

u.ing C_(4)-C_(25)fatty acid methyl esters(C_(4)-C_(25)FAMEs)as a sample reference series,a method was developed to generalize the reference system for calcu.ating the second dimension retention index(2I)of compou.ds analyzed by comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography-mass spectrometry(GC×GC-MS).The second dimension elu.ion temperatu.e(2Te),second dimension u.adju.ted retention time(2tR),and the linear retention index(IT)of C_(4)-C_(25)FAMEs were u.ed to form a second dimension retention index su.face(2IS)via a three-dimensional su.face fitting *** 2I of an analyte analyzed by GC×GC-MS was then calcu.ated from the 2IS based on its 2tR and *** developed method was validated by calcu.at-ing the 2I of n-alk.nes,80 compou.ds,and two commercially available mixtu.es(MegaMix A and MegaMix B).Compared to the conventional method,the developed method k.eps the 2I in n-alk.ne retention index scale,and enables u.ing any compou.ds as references to obtain a mu.h increased separation space in the second dimension GC.
