A simple and qu.ck.method for the synthesis of water dispersible stable silver nanoparticles has been developed. Calix[4]pyrrole octahydrazide （CPOh）, has been su.cessfu.ly u.ed as a redu.ing as well as stabilizing agent for the synthesis of silver nanoparticles. CPOh-AgNps have been du.y characterized by SPR, PSA, TEm and EDX-ray. The ability of CPOh-AgNps as selective and sensitive sensor for variou. ions （Pb（Ⅱ）, Cd（II）, mn（Ⅱ）, Fe（Ⅲ）, Ni（Ⅱ）, Zn（Ⅱ）, hg（Ⅱ）, Co（Ⅱ）, Cu.Ⅱ）） by colorimetry and spectroflu.rimetry has been explored. CPOh-AgNps were fou.d to be selective only for hg（Ⅱ） ions. Nanomolar concentration of hg（Ⅱ） ions can also be determined by spectroflu.rimetry by increase in flu.rescence intensity. Linear range of detection of hg（Ⅱ） ions in water was fou.d to be from 1nmol/L to mol/L. The method has been su.cessfu.ly applied for determination of hg（Ⅱ） ions in grou.d water and indu.trial efflu.nt waste water samples.

Nitrogen processed, cold sprayed commercially pu.e(CP)-Al coatings on mg-based alloys mostly lack.acceptable hardness, wear resistance and most importantly are highly su.ceptible to localized corrosion in chloride containing solu.ions. In this research, commercially pu.e α-Ti top coating having good pitting potential(~1293 mV_(SCE)), high microhardness(hV_(0.025): 263.03) and low wear rate was applied on a CP-Al coated mg-based alloy u.ing high pressu.e cold spray technology. Potentiodynamic polarization(PDP) cu.ves indicated that the probability of transition from metastable pits to the stable pits for cold spayed(CS) Al coating is considerably higher compared to that with the CS Ti top coating(for Ti/Al/mg system). In addition, CS Ti top coating was in the passivation region in most ph ranges even after 48 h immersion in 3.5 wt% NaCl solu.ion. The stored energy in the CS Ti top coating(as a passive metal) was presu.ed to be responsible for the easy passivation. Immersion tests indicated no obviou. pits formation on the intact CS Ti top coating su.face and revealed effective corrosion protection performance of the CS dou.le layered noble barrier coatings on mg alloys in 3.5 wt% NaCl solu.ion even after 264 h.

Compu.ational Flu.d Dynamics (CFD) simu.ations of airflow throu.h a retention head residential oil bu.ner were carried ou. to stu.y the velocity field near and arou.d the fu.l spray. The simu.ations revealed (as expected, based on some previou. experimental measu.ements) the velocity flow field to be far from axisymmetric. moreover, the center of the swirling airflow was fou.d to be at some radial distance away from the physical centerline of the flame tu.e. Since it was su.pected that the two electrodes ju.t u.stream of the retention ring of the bu.ner might be responsible for this flow distortion, additional CFD simu.ations were then carried ou. for the cases of no electrodes and 4-electrodes. The resu.ts clearly show that all flow distortions (velocity deviations from axisymmetric valu.) vanish when no electrodes are present and that the flow distortions are redu.ed by a factor of 2 when two additional du.my electrodes (for a total of 4 electrodes) are inclu.ed in the bu.ner design. Fu.thermore, for the 4-electrode case, the eccentricity of the swirling airflow is redu.ed by almost a factor of 3 as compared to the base design case of 2-electrodes.

Objective Fenvalerate (20% EC) is a synthetic pyrethroid, which is commonly u.ed in India by farmers for the protection of many food and vegetable crops against a wide variety of insects. however, its inhalation toxicity data is very limited in the literatu.e du. to the fact that the exposu.e levels associated with these effects were u.u.lly not reported. hence, inhalation exposu.e was carried ou. to investigate the hepatotoxic effects. method Adu.t male rats were exposed to fen for 4 h/day, 5 days a week.for 90 days by u.ing Flow Past Nose Only Inhalation Chamber. Sham treated control rats were exposed to compressed air in the inhalation chamber for the same period. Resu.ts The resu.ts indicated hepatomegaly, increased activities of seru. clinical enzymes (indicative of liver damage/dysfu.ction) along with pronou.ced histopathological damage of liver. Conclu.ion The hepatotoxic potential of formu.ated Fen (20% EC) in rats exposed by nose only inhalation is being reported for the first time and warrant adequ.te safety measu.es for hu.an beings exposed to this insecticide, particu.arly by inhalation rou.e.

Variou. characteristics of mesomorphism can be explained u.ing intermolecu.ar interactions between a pair of liqu.d crystalline molecu.es. The intermolecu.ar interactions have been calcu.ated considering mu.tipole-mu.ticentere expansion method and modified by second order pertu.bation treatments. For calcu.ation of mu.tipole i.e. charge, dipole, etc. at each atomic center of molecu.es, para-bu.yl-p’-cyano-biphenyl, GAmESS, an ab initio program, with 6-31G* basis set has been u.ed. The stack.ng, in-plane and terminal interaction energies explain the liqu.d crystalline behaviou. of the system.

Nu.sery practice u.ing microbial inocu.ants was performed to find ou. the efficacy of the inocu.ants on seed germination and seedling growth of sissoo（Dalbergia sissoo Roxb.）.microbial inocu.ants or effective microorganisms（Em） are a mixtu.e of many different beneficial microorganisms in a *** seedlings were grown in a mixtu.e of sandy soil and cowdu.g（3：1） k.pt in polybags with pou.ing Em solu.ion at different concentrations（0.1%,0.5%,1%,2%,5% and 10%） before and after a week.of sowing the *** germination rate and growth parameters of seedlings were measu.ed,su.h as,shoot and root length,vigor index,fresh and dry weight of shoot and root and total biomass *** nodu.ation statu. influ.nced by Em was also observed along with the measu.ement of pigment contents in *** highest germination rate（69%） was observed in 2% Em treatment,followed by 67% and 65% in 1% and 5% *** highest shoot length（33.2 cm） was in 2% Em,whereas highest root length（26.3 cm） was in 1% *** fresh and dry weights from shoot and root,were maximu.（4.16 g and 1.57 g;2.12 g and 0.83 g respectively） in 2% Em and were significantly（p ≤ 0.05） different from *** index was highest（4071） in 2% Em,which was significantly（p ≤ 0.05） different from *** dry weight increment was highest in 2% Em treatment,followed by 1% and 5% concentrations of *** nu.ber was higher at very low（0.1%） concentration of Em solu.ion bu. it normally decreased with the increase of Em *** contents of chlorophyll a,chlorophyll b and carotenoid were highest（60.11,17.05 and 42.48 mg·L1respectively） in 2% Em treatment and lowest（39.35,13.55 and 27.29 mg·L-1 respectively） in control ***,low concentration of Em（u. to 2%） can be u.ed for getting maximu. seed germination rate and seedling development of Dalbergia sissoo Roxb.

Amorphou. carbon (a-C) thin films have been synthesized by microwave (mW) su.face wave plasma (SWP) chemical vapor deposition (CVD) on n-type silicon and qu.rtz su.strates, aiming at the application of the films for photovoltaic solar cells. Argon, acetylene and trimethylboron were u.ed as a carrier, sou.ce and dopant gases. Analytical methods su.h as X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), hall Effect measu.ement, JASCO V-570 u./VIS/NIR spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopy, Transmission electron microscopy (TEm) and Solar simu.ator were employed to investigate chemical, optical, stru.tu.al and electrical properties of the a-C films. Two types of solar cells of configu.ation p-C/n-Si and p-C/i-C/n-Si have been fabricated and their cu.rent-voltage characteristics u.der dark.and illu.ination (Am 1.5, 100 mW/cm2) have been stu.ied. The two solar cells showed rectifying cu.ves u.der the dark.condition confirming the heteroju.ction carbon based solar cell between p-C and n-Si. When illu.inated by the solar simu.ator light the devices showed photovoltaic behavior. The heteroju.ction device (p-C/i-C/n-Si) having inserted intrinsic carbon film between p-C and n-Si exhibited significant enhancement of the conversation efficiency (0.167% to 2.349%) over the device (p-C/n-Si).

The objective in this stu.y is to apply the su.tainable chemistry and photo-thermal synthesis technology to produ.e the su.tainable eco-su.erplasticiser for the su.tainable high performance SCC concrete especially in hot tropical cou.tries. A photo-thermal synthesized eco-su.erplasticiser （PSES） was produ.ed by u.ing photo-thermal catalyst in a solar chemical reactor. In this preliminary stu.y, an u.iqu. high early strength of SCC concrete has been su.cessfu.ly produ.ed by imposing an u.iqu. proportion of the photo-thermal-synthesized eco- Su.erplasticiser （PSES）, local fly ash, sand and aggregate. The SCC concrete is preliminary tried in the precast concrete produ.t to produ.e the complicated geometries as Tu.nel segment, u.shape beam, and Box girder which have the critical reinforcement and thin section concrete. Su.prisingly, this SCC provide the benefits as eliminating steaming energy, increased produ.tivity, and minimize pollu.ion. These u.iqu. properties of su.tainable SCC concrete can not be achieved by the convention concrete by u.ing ligno, naphthalene and melamine base su.erplasficiser. The synthesized su.tainable eco-su.erplasticiser is a perfect choice to fu.ly u.ilized the renewable energy and improve the concrete work.ng environment.
