Nickel was supported on varied ratios of ceria-titania mixed oxides（Ni/CexTiyO2） to evaluate the role the support plays in photothermal carbon dioxide hydrogenation to produce methane. In a batch photothermal reactor system, Ni/CeO2achieved the highest conversion rate, reaching a conversion of 93% in approximately60–90 min. To decouple the influence of light and heat, the CO2hydrogenation was examined in an in-house designed photothermal reactor, whereby heat can be applied externally. Decoupling experiments revealed that heat from the thermalisation by light was the main driving force for the reaction. In addition, the conversion and temperature profile of the different catalysts revealed that the catalyst performance was governed by catalyst reducibility. H2-TPR analyses showed that the Ni became more readily reducible with increasing Ce O2content,suggesting that the oxide plays a role in activating the Ni. The reduction temperature of the nickel catalyst（following a reduction and passivation process） was below 200 °C, which meant that the inherent heating temperature of the photothermal reactor was sufficient to initiate Ni/CexTiyO2catalyst activity. The exothermic methanation reaction was then able to heat the system further, ultimately reaching a temperature of 285 °C. The ancillary rise in temperature promotes further nickel reduction and methane formation, leading to a "snow-ball"effect. The findings demonstrate that, to achieve a "snow-ball" effect in a photothermal system, designing a catalyst which is easy to reduce, active for CO2hydrogenation, and capable of converting light to heat for its initial activation is critical.

The conversion of carbon dioxide into value-added products is of great industrial and environmental interest. However, as carbon dioxide is relatively stable, the input energy required for this conversion is a significant limiting factor in the system's performance. By utilising energy from the sun, through a range of key routes, this limitation can be overcome. In this review, we present a comprehensive and critical overview of the potential routes to harvest the sun's energy, primarily through solar-thermal technologies and plasmonic resonance effects. Focusing on the localised heating approach, this review shortlists and compares viable catalysts for the photo-thermal catalytic conversion of carbon ***, the pathways and potential products of different carbon dioxide conversion routes are outlined with the reverse water gas shift,methanation, and methanol synthesis being of key interest. Finally, the challenges in implementing such systems and the outlook to the future are detailed.

AIM To investigate second primary malignancy(SPM) risk after radiotherapy in rectal cancer survivors METHODS We used Taiwan's National Health Insurance Research Database to identify rectal cancer patients between 1996 and 2011. Surgery-alone, preoperative short course, preoperative long course, and post-operative radiotherapy groups were defined. The overall and sitespecific SPM incidence rates were compared among the radiotherapy groups by multivariate Cox regression, taking chemotherapy and comorbidities into account. Sensitivity tests were performed for attained-year adjustment and long-term survivors analysis. RESULTS A total of 28220 patients were analyzed. The 10-year cumulative SPM incidence was 7.8% [95% confidence interval(CI): 7.2%-8.2%] using a competing risk model. The most common sites of SPM were the lung, liver, and prostate. Radiotherapy was not associated with increased SPM risk in multi-variate Cox model(hazard ratio = 1.05, 95%CI: 0.91-1.21, P = 0.494). The SPM hazard remained unchanged in 10-yearsurvivors. In addition, no SPM risk difference was found between the preoperative radiotherapy and postoperative radiotherapy *** In this large population-based cohort study, we demonstrated that radiotherapy had no increase in SPM.

目的探究片仔癀通过调控miR-155表达改善脂多糖(lipopolysaccharide,LPS)诱导的肝脏Kupffer细胞损伤的发生机制。方法LPS诱导肝脏Kupffer细胞建立细胞损伤模型,模拟脓毒症肝损伤。RT-qPCR检测损伤细胞中miR-155的表达,RT-qPCR、Western Blot、ELISA和流式细胞术评估损伤细胞的炎症反应和细胞凋亡情况。然后用不同浓度(0 mg/L、5 mg/L、10 mg/L及15 mg/L)的片仔癀处理LPS诱导的Kupffer细胞,检测了细胞中miR-155的表达,细胞的炎症反应和凋亡率。在细胞损伤模型中沉默miR-155,RT-qPCR、Western Blot、ELISA和流式细胞术评估miR-155对模型细胞炎症反应和凋亡的影响。在片仔癀处理的损伤细胞中过表达miR-155检测细胞炎症反应和凋亡的变化。数据以均数±标准差(x±s)的表示,采用成组t检验或单因素方差分析各组数据。结果在LPS诱导肝脏Kupffer细胞损伤的模型中,miR-155的表达显著升高(P<0.05),促炎因子IL-6、TNF-α的表达水平显著增加,抗炎因子IL-10明显被抑制(P<0.05),细胞凋亡率显著升高(P<0.05)。片仔癀处理后,抑制损伤肝细胞中miR-155的表达(P<0.05),抑制细胞炎症因子IL-6、和TNF-α的水平,促进抗炎因子IL-10的表达(P<0.05),抑制细胞凋亡(P<0.05)。沉默miR-155减轻了细胞的炎症反应和凋亡率(P<0.05)。过表达miR-155可逆转片仔癀治疗肝细胞损伤的作用(P<0.05)。结论在LPS诱导肝脏Kupffer细胞损伤的模型中,片仔癀通过抑制miR-155的表达,抑制细胞的炎症反应及其凋亡。

目的研究丹参酮ⅡA磺酸钠(sodium tanshinoneⅡA sulfonate,STS)对新生猪血浆基质金属蛋白酶MMP-2和MMP-9以及重组人MMP-2和MMP-9蛋白活性的影响。方法给予新生猪STS(0.1～10 mg/kg,n=8)或生理盐水(对照组,n=4)静脉注射,每个剂量输注结束后收集动脉血,另取对照组血标本(n=6),与STS(0.1～100μg/ml)在37℃孵育30 min,均经离心后收集血浆标本储藏在-80℃。采用酶学法测定标本中MMP-2和MMP-9的活性,同时测定重组人类rhMMP-2和MMP-9与STS(0.1～1 000μg/ml)孵育后的活性。结果静脉注射STS 0.1～10 mg/kg并不影响血浆MMP-2和MMP-9的活性;动脉血体外与1～100μg/ml的STS孵育时显著增高MMP-9的活性。STS在0.1～10μg/ml浓度范围内呈剂量依赖性增加重组MMPs的活性,但在100和1 000μg/ml时显著抑制MMPs的活性。结论丹参酮ⅡA对MMP-9和MMP-2具有直接的双向调节作用,治疗剂量促进MMP-9的活性,但这种活性在健康新生个体体内受到抑制。
