Determination of Shear Bond strength(SBS)at interlayer of double-layer asphalt concrete is crucial in flexible pavement *** study used three Machine Learning(ML)models,including K-Nearest Neighbors(KNN),Extra Trees(ET),and Light Gradient Boosting Machine(LGBM),to predict SBS based on easily determinable input ***,the Grid Search technique was employed for hyper-parameter tuning of the ML models,and cross-validation and learning curve analysis were used for training the *** models were built on a database of 240 experimental results and three input variables:temperature,normal pressure,and tack coat *** validation was performed using three statistical criteria:the coefficient of determination(R2),the Root Mean Square Error(RMSE),and the mean absolute error(MAE).Additionally,SHAP analysis was also used to validate the importance of the input variables in the prediction of the *** show that these models accurately predict SBS,with LGBM providing outstanding ***(Shapley Additive explanation)analysis for LGBM indicates that temperature is the most influential factor on ***,the proposed ML models can quickly and accurately predict SBS between two layers of asphalt concrete,serving practical applications in flexible pavement structure design.

This study was aimed to prepare landslide susceptibility maps for the Pithoragarh district in Uttarakhand,India,using advanced ensemble models that combined Radial Basis Function Networks(RBFN)with three ensemble learning techniques:DAGGING(DG),MULTIBOOST(MB),and ADABOOST(AB).This combination resulted in three distinct ensemble models:DG-RBFN,MB-RBFN,and ***,a traditional weighted method,Information Value(IV),and a benchmark machine learning(ML)model,Multilayer Perceptron Neural Network(MLP),were employed for comparison and *** models were developed using ten landslide conditioning factors,which included slope,aspect,elevation,curvature,land cover,geomorphology,overburden depth,lithology,distance to rivers and distance to *** factors were instrumental in predicting the output variable,which was the probability of landslide *** analysis of the models’performance indicated that the DG-RBFN model,with an Area Under ROC Curve(AUC)of 0.931,outperformed the other *** AB-RBFN model achieved an AUC of 0.929,the MB-RBFN model had an AUC of 0.913,and the MLP model recorded an AUC of *** results suggest that the advanced ensemble ML model DG-RBFN was more accurate than traditional statistical model,single MLP model,and other ensemble models in preparing trustworthy landslide susceptibility maps,thereby enhancing land use planning and decision-making.

Optimization of the in Vitro Fertilization System in Cỏ Goat Oocytes

This study aimed to optimization of the in vitro fertilization system in Cỏ goat oocytes to achieve the maximum possible blastocyst development rate. In Experiment 1, we assessed the effects of IVF media on the in vitro fertilization of Cỏ goat oocytes. There was no significant difference in the cleavage, blastocyst, or hatching rates between TALP-Fert and BO-IVF media. Experiment 2 was performed to assess the concentration of sperm in the in vitro fertilization of Cỏ goat oocytes. The matured Cỏ goat oocytes were fertilized in BO-IVF for four sperm concentrations: 5 × 105, 1 × 106, 2 × 106 and 3 × 106 sperm/ml. The blastocyst rate of 2 × 106 sperm/ml and 3 × 106 sperm/ml groups was higher than that of 5 × 105 sperm/ml and 1 × 106 sperm/ml groups (P Experiment 3 was performed to assess the IVF duration on the in vitro fertilization of Cỏ goat oocytes. The matured Cỏ goat oocytes were fertilized in BO-IVF with sperm concentration of 3 × 106 sperm/ml for 18, 20, 22 and 24 h. The cleavage, blastocyst, and hatching blastocyst rates of 18 h group were lower than those of 20, 22 and 24 h groups (P 0.05). In conclusion, the matured Cỏ goat oocytes were fertilized in BO-IVF with sperm concentration of 3 × 106 sperm/ml for 20 hours, which is suitable for the in vitro Cỏ goat embryo production.

BACKGROUND Tacrolimus(TAC)is metabolized primarily by the CYP3A-encoded enzyme family(CYP3A4,CYP3A5,and CYP3A7).Individuals expressing the CYP3A51 allele are considered fast metabolizers and generally require higher TAC doses to reach therapeutic *** To evaluate the predictive value of the TAC concentration-to-dose(C0/D)ratio for identifying CYP3A5 poly-morphisms in renal transplant *** Eighty-six de novo kidney transplant recipients with TAC-based immunosuppression from the Department of Nephrology and Dialysis at Military Hospital 103(Hanoi,Vietnam)were included in this retrospective *** samples were collected within the first week post-transplantation to monitor TAC levels and to perform genotyping for CYP3A5 genetic *** The CYP3A53/3 genotype was identified in 37 patients(43%),CYP3A51/3 in 40 patients(46.5%),and CYP3A51/1 in 9 patients(10.5%).Patients carrying the CYP3A51/3 or CYP3A51/1 genotype,classified as fast metabolizers(CYP3A5 expressers),had significantly lower TAC C0 concentrations and C0/D ratios compared to slow meta-bolizers(CYP3A53/3 genotype)at multiple time points during follow-up(all P<0.001).Notably,the TAC C0/D ratio obtained on day 1(0.91)was shown to predict CYP3A5 polymorphism with a sensitivity of 84.6%and a specificity of 84.6%.CONCLUSION This study demonstrates that the TAC C0/D ratio provides a reliable predictive value for CYP3A5 polymorphisms,which can be used to individualize TAC dosing in renal transplant recipients in Vietnam and other low-income countries.

In multimodal learning, Vision-Language Models (VLMs) have become a critical research focus, enabling the integration of textual and visual data. These models have shown significant promise across various natural language processing tasks, such as visual question answering and computer vision applications, including image captioning and image-text retrieval, highlighting their adaptability for complex, multimodal datasets. In this work, we review the landscape of Bootstrapping Language-Image Pre-training (BLIP) and other VLM techniques. A comparative analysis is conducted to assess VLMs’ strengths, limitations, and applicability across tasks while examining challenges such as scalability, data quality, and fine-tuning complexities. The work concludes by outlining potential future directions in VLM research, focusing on enhancing model interpretability, addressing ethical implications, and advancing multimodal integration in real-world applications.

Improved flood susceptibility mapping using a best first decision tree integrated with ensemble learning techniques

Improving the accuracy of flood prediction and mapping is crucial for reducing damage resulting from flood *** this study,we proposed and validated three ensemble models based on the Best First Decision Tree(BFT)and the Bagging(Bagging-BFT),Decorate(Bagging-BFT),and Random Subspace(RSS-BFT)ensemble learning techniques for an improved prediction of flood susceptibility in a spatially-explicit manner.A total number of 126 historical flood events from the Nghe An Province(Vietnam)were connected to a set of 10 flood influencing factors(slope,elevation,aspect,curvature,river density,distance from rivers,flow direction,geology,soil,and land use)for generating the training and validation *** models were validated via several performance metrics that demonstrated the capability of all three ensemble models in elucidating the underlying pattern of flood occurrences within the research area and predicting the probability of future flood *** on the Area Under the receiver operating characteristic Curve(AUC),the ensemble Decorate-BFT model that achieved an AUC value of 0.989 was identified as the superior model over the RSS-BFT(AUC=0.982)and Bagging-BFT(AUC=0.967)models.A comparison between the performance of the models and the models previously reported in the literature confirmed that our ensemble models provided a reliable estimate of flood susceptibilities and their resulting susceptibility maps are trustful for flood early warning systems as well as development of mitigation plans.

New design of single-symbol decodable STBCs for MIMO communication system

Single-symbol maximum-likelihood （ML） decodable space-time block codes （SSDCs） can achieve a maximal symbol rate of 6/7 for multiple-input multiple-output （MIMO） communication system with five or six transmit antennas by using rate-efficient generalized coordinate interleaved orthogonal designs （RE-GCIODs）. Unfortunately, there are many zero entries in the eodeword matrix of RE-GCIODs. The zero entries result in high peak-to-average power ratio （PAPR） and also impose a severe constraint on hardware implementation. In this paper, for MIMO communication systems with five or six transmit antennas and one receive antenna, a new SSDC is proposed. By combining Alamouti code and orthogonal space-time block code （OSTBC）, desirable properties like RE-GCIODs can be achieved and are derived, including maximal symbol rate up to 6/7, full diversity and single-symbol ML decodability. Moreover, by reducing the number of zero entries in the codeword matrix, the peak-to-average power ratio （PAPR） of our proposed code is lower than RE-GCIODs. Simulation results show that the proposed codes outperform RE-GCIODs under peak power constraint while performing almost same under average power constraint.

New design of no-zero-entry single symbol ML decodable STBCs based on group precoding

In multiple-input multiple-output （MIMO） systems, space-time block codes （STBCs） from orthogonal designs （ODs） and coordinate interleaved orthogonal designs （CLOD） have been attracting wider attention due to their amenability for fast （single symbol） maximum-likelihood （ML） decoding, and full-rate with full-rank over quasi-static fading channels. However, most of these codes, for transmitting antennas more than 4, have large number of zero entries in their codeword matrix. Due to the zero entries in the design, the transmitting antennas need to be switched on and off imposing severe hardware constraints. To solve this problem, we propose a method to generate a new class of no-zero-entry single symbol maximum likelihood decodable STBCs （NZESSDCs）, which is based on coordinate interleaving and group precoding technique. The ability of the proposed group precoding based NZESSDCs （called G-NZESSDCs） on single symbol ML Decoding and full diversity are analyzed and derived. The performance evaluation is accomplished by numerical simulation and is compared with recently reported NZESSDCs （called C-NZESSDCs）. Compared with C-NZESSDCs, the proposed G-NZESSDCs have same bit-error-rate （BER） performance and better peak-to-average ratio （PAPR） performance.
