COVID-19 epidemic models with constant transmission rate cannot capture the patterns of the infection data in the presence of pharmaceutical and non-pharmaceutical interventions during a *** of this,a new modification of SIR model that contain the vaccination compartment with time dependent coefficients and weak/lossimmunity is *** review confirms that the effect of vaccination on the time dependent transmission rate is still an open *** study answers this open *** this study,we first prove the well-posedness and investigate the model dynamics to show their continuous dependence on the model *** then provide an algorithm to derive the time-dependent transmission function for the epidemiologic model and the data of the infected *** derived coupled nonlinear differential equations show the effect of vaccination on the transmission *** previous studies,we first filter the published data and solve the nonlinear coupled differential equations using the finite difference technique,where the coefficient of the coupled nonlinear differential equations is a function of given *** then show that time-dependent transmission function can be represented by linear combinations of Gaussian radial base *** then validate the prediction of our models using numerical simulations,where we used the published data of COVID-19 confirmed cases by the Ministries of Health in saudi Arabia and ***,the numerical solutions of a SIRVI model with time dependent transmission rate show that the waves for currently active cases are in good agreement with the data of saudi Arabia and Poland.

Hypothyroidism is a common disorder, potentially severe, often clinically ignored, easily diagnosed by laboratory tests, and highly treatable. It may cause chronic illnesses if left untreated. saudi Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism (SSEM) assembled a panel of twelve endocrinologists with experience in thyroid diseases in adults and children and made up a task force. An initial concept proposal that included types of hypothyroidism, population, scope, and prevalence in saudi Arabia was obtained. The proposal was divided into several topics discussed in February 2022. The panel approved that the consensus will include all types of hypothyroidism in saudi Arabia, screening, diagnosis, management, and special population. A literature review was carried out. Most of the latest international guidelines were screened in Europe and USA. The literature search was completed in March 2022. They drafted a report that was distributed to the entire panel. Approval of the recommendations required consensus, defined as a majority approval. The recommendations were revised to accommodate any differences of opinion until a consensus was reached. Recommendations were finally formulated on April 2022. Subsequently, the panel reviewed and discussed the supporting rationale of the revised recommendations. This article presents these practical recommendations.

The primary aim of this work was clearly to apply the norms of radiation protection to building residents against natural radioactivity. This was done through measurement of natural radioactivity in adhesive building materials using HPGe gamma ray spectrometer. The radium equivalent activity (Raeq), indoor gamma absorbed dose rate (DR), and annual effective dose (HR) associated with natural radioactivity were computed to assess the radiation hazards in adhesive building materials. The obtained specific activities of these natural radionuclides and the calculated radiation hazard indexes were compared with the international recommended values. The findings in this work of natural radioactivity levels were below the acceptable limits. Therefore, it was found the adhesive building materials were safe to be used as construction materials. Also, as a minor work, previous unpublished data of heavy metals in the same study adhesive materials were investigated by ICP-MS to figure out the correlation between heavy metal presence and natural radioactivity. The findings showed insignificant correlations between heavy metals and radioactivity.

This work addressed the application of Monte-Carlo (MC) simulation on obtained chemical data previous published in one of authors’ paper. The chemical data were subjected into MC simulation. Also, Kruskal-Wall test was performed to enhance our hypothesis of difference among the reported data. Moreover, Nonparametric Runs Test was calculated to get bigger vision of the hypothesis. The chemical data tested in this study showed significant difference when using MC simulation.

Background: dietary habit is one of the most universally recounted initiators of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). The objective of the present study was to determine the role of some dietary habits in the etiology of IBS in Northern saudi Arabia. Methodology: In this community based cross-sectional survey, data about IBS were obtained from 930 saudi volunteers living in the city of Hail, Northern saudi Arabia. IBS was diagnosed using Rome IV criteria. Results: The prevalence of IBS was 11% among males vs. 12.5% among females. The prevalence of IBS symptoms among males was 30% vs. 36.5% females. IBS was significantly associated with reduced water intake, the RR (95% CI) = 1.1800 (1.0146 to 1.3722), P = 0.0316. In the present study, the majority of the study population 904/929 (97.3%) didn’t accustom to vegetables/fruits intake. Conclusion: IBS is prevalent in Northern saudi Arabia, both among males and females with relatively increasing among females. Low water intake and insufficient fibers intake (particularly, in vegetables and fruits) might be behind the growing prevalence of IBS in saudi Arabia.

In a recently published work by the authors, a novel framework was developed and applied for assessment of reliability and quality performance levels in real-life power systems with practical large-scale sizes. The new assessment methodology is based on three metaphors (dimensions) representing the relationship between available generation capacities and required demand levels. The developed reliability and performance quality indices were deterministic in nature. That is, they represent one operating state (a snapshot of the system conditions) in which the required demand as well as the generation and transmission capacities are known with 100% certainty. In real life, however, load variations occur randomly so as the contingencies which cause some generation and/or transmission capacities to be lost (become unavailable). In other words, neither the load levels nor the generation or transmission capacities are known with absolute certainty. They are rather subject to random variations and, consequently, the calculated reliability and performance quality indices are all subject to random variations where only expected values of these indices can be evaluated. This paper presents a major extension to the previously published work by developing a theory and formulas for computing the expected values of different system reliability and performance quality indices. In this context, a “contingency scenario” or a system “demand level” are regarded, in a more general sense, as a “state”, which occurs with certain probability and represents a given demand value and availability pattern of various capacities in the system. The work of this paper provides a practical and meaningful methodology for real-life assessment of power system reliability and performance quality levels. Practical applications are also presented, for demonstration purposes, to the saudi electricity power grid.

A new and efficient procedure has been designed for the preparation of 6-arylmethylene-amino-2-alkyl sulfonyl-pyrimidine. The first alkylthio group was introduced into the pyrimidine ring by S-alkylation. The introduction of the second one was successfully achieved using the phosphorous oxychloride method to afford 4-chloro-2-alkylthio-pyrimidines. Subsequent nucleophilic displacement by the corresponding alkylamines followed by glycoside bromide addition conveniently gave a series of the target compounds. Thus, the two same or different alkylamino groups were easily introduced into the pyrimidine ring through the two different approaches. The human anti-platelet aggregation activity of the newly synthesized compounds was also described.
