The airborne pollen grains of Afyon have been studied for a two_year period (1999-2000) with a Durham sampler. A total of 14 367 pollen grains belonging to 40 taxa have been identified and recorded with some unidentified ones. Of them, 6 732 were identified in 1999 and 7 635 in 2000. Of the total pollen grains, 69.67% were arboreal, 26.64% non_arboreal and 3.68 % unidentified. The majority of the investigated pollen grains were from Pinus, Gramineae, Cupressaceae, Platanus , Chenopodiaceae/Amaranthaceae, Quercus, Ailanthus, Moraceae, Juglans , Salix, Cedrus and Rosaceae. The highest level of pollen grains was in May.

Agricultural sector is vital for human beings, it provides stuffto the other sectors and it contributes to employment considerably. A large proportion of the exportation of turkey is made from the agricultural products. Thereby it can be said that the agricultural sector is one of the main sectors contributing to the economy of the country considerably. But it＇s known that the sector is affected by some risks and uncertainities such as： sector＇s being made-up of family-owned companies, its being sensitive to the weather conditions, the long process of buying products, the work＇s being seasonal, self-consumption, the difficulty in accounting the cost, unrecorded agricultural transactions. Within this context to determine the sector＇s contribution to the country＇s economy clearly is related to recording the agricultural transactions properly and choosing the realistic methods and implementations. But despite the importance that agricultural transactions carry, the rules of recognition of the related transactions stay at an area that is not much worked on by the operators and researchers till the accounting postulates published. One reason for this is the sector, which is generally made-up of family-owned companies, and the operators have a general view point that accounting is not the purpose of management but taxation. In recent years with the international development of economy and technology, it＇s seen that big investors have entered the sector. With the changed system of trade, agricultural sector became a strategic sector. In this respect, in-depth data and information, acquired from accounting system, became very important. In this study, the principles and the rules that are applied in the agricultural transactions within the frame of international accounting standards are explained. Alterations of the Nitrogen Mineralization Rates in Soils of Forest Community Depending on the Ski Run Construction (Mount Uludag,Bursa,turkey)

Since 194os, Mount Uludag （Bithynian Olympus） has been considered famous with winter sports center in turkey. In addition, it is one of the rare places because of its plant diversity and is also one of the important plant areas of turkey. The ski run constructions are rapidly increased in the past decades in the alpine and subalpine belts of the mountain. Rate of nitrogen mineralization and some properties of soft were investigated in the soils of the three ski runs and undisturbed neighborhood forest sites. These ski runs are at the upper part of the forest belt in the mountain. Abies bornmuelleriana forest community is the postclimax and very sensitive to destruetion. The rates of the nitrogen mineralization in the soils were determined in controlled conditions （60% water-holding capacity, 20℃）. Nitrification and nitrogen mineralization were in the ski run inside where the natural recovery started, increased compared with the outside of the ski runs. Waterholding capacity, organic carbon, and total nitrogen were decreased in the massive damaged ski run, and due to these changes, the rates of mineralization and nitrification were also decreased.

Nitric oxide is synthesized from L-arginine by endothelial nitric oxide synthase encoded by eNOS gene. This study was performed to investigate the relationship between the serum nitric oxide level and eNOS gene polymorphism in the Turkish population with angiographically diagnosed coronary artery disease (63.47 ± 9.10 years old, n=250) and control subjects without any history and/or risk factors of coronary artery disease (60.71 ± 9.14 years old, n=150). Griess assay and PCR-RFLP analysis were used to measure the serum nitric oxide metabolites and genotypes, respectively. It was found that Glu/Glu, Glu/Asp and Asp/ Asp genotype frequencies of the eNOS were 49.3%, 41.3% and 9.3% respectively in the control group, and 45.6%, 41.2% and 13.2% in the patient group. Serum nitric oxide levels were (32.56 ± 17.26) μM in controls and (29.84 ± 11.88) μM in patients. Neither the frequencies of the Glu298Asp genotypes nor the serum nitric oxide levels showed a significant difference between the groups. There was also no correlation between serum nitric oxide levels and the frequencies of the eNOS genotypes. Result showed that the coronary artery disease of the Turkish population seemed to develop without any alterations in eNOS Glu298Asp genotype frequency and the serum nitric oxide level.
