Breeding philopatry is well known in the Black-headed Gull(Chroicocephalus ridibundus).Using a capture-markrecapture method,we studied if Black-headed Gulls show nest site tenacity and mate fidelity as well,and investigated if there are differences between a stable,and a newly established and fast-growing colony,as well as for differences between the center and edges of these colonies located in north-eastern *** found a high level of nest site tenacity in the center of the stable colony on B?hmke Island,and lower degrees of nest site tenacity at the edge of the same colony and in the newly established and fast-growing colony on Riether *** fidelity was very strong in all individuals which returned to their previous breeding place,regardless of the nest site location.

Background:Triphala extract is a well known medicinal herbal formula which is usually prescribed by Thai traditional doctors to adjust the physiological functions of the *** studies have reported that Triphala has antioxidant,anti-inflammatory,antihypercholesterolemia and anticancer *** this herbal recipe is commonly used in Thailand,its human safety,especially in the oral form,has not been *** therefore conducted a clinical trial(Phase I).Objective:This study evaluated the safety of administering the aqueous extract of Triphala to healthy volunteers at 2500 mg/***,setting,participants and interventions:An open-label,single-arm trial was conducted at Chulabhorn International College of Medicine,Thammasat University,Pathum Thani,Thailand,between July 2017 and July *** study enrolled 10 male and 10 female healthy volunteers;all were given Triphala(water extract;five capsules of 500 mg each)orally,once a day,at bedtime,for four consecutive *** outcome measures:Signs and symptoms,physical examinations,hematology and blood chemistry were assessed at the beginning of the trial and every week thereafter,for four consecutive *** finishing the trial,on day 28,all volunteers were invited to a follow-up session on day 35 to evaluate the safety of the herbal recipe using the same ***:At the oral dose of 2500 mg/d,Triphala had no serious adverse effects in healthy ***,it was found to have significantly improved the volunteers’high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C)levels on day 35 and also reduced their blood sugar levels on days 14 and ***:We conclude that aqueous extract of Triphala is safe for healthy volunteers and that it elevates HDL-C levels and lowers blood *** clinical study should investigate its effects on HDL-C and blood sugar levels among the dyslipidemic and prediabetic *** registration:This trial was registered in the Thai Clinical Trial Regis

目的旨在调查泰国护理专业本科学生循证实践(evidence-based practice,EBP)水平的现状。方法采用横断面研究设计。于2021年1一3月选取泰国5所公立大学的470名三年级和四年级的护理本科学生进行调查。采用学生循证实践问卷(the Student Evidence-Based Practice Questiomnaire,S-EBPQ)进行调查。结果S-EBPQ总均分为(5.29+0.71)分,4个分量表均分从高到低分别为态度(5.50+0.93)分、分享和应用EBP(5.37±0.87)分、实践(5.18+0.84)分、检索和回顾证据(5.10+0.81)分。有较多的EBP学习经历、熟悉研究方法、对临床决策有信心、对实践有准备及通过查阅期刊获取实践证据的护理专业学生EBP水平较高(P<0.05)。结论本研究可以为提高护理专业本科生在临床环境中的EBP水平提供策略,并可以应用到现有的护理课程中。

Adsorption Behavior of Potassium Ion on Planting Materials

Characterization of planting materials used as adsorbent has been studied in order to compare potassium ion adsorption on two types of planting materials, which are a fired planting material （FPM） made from a mixture of 4 kinds of wastes （bottom ash, flue gas desulfurization （FGD） gypsum, paddy soil and sawdust） formed and fired at 850 ℃and the commercial planting material called ＂hydroball＂（HDB） bought from Jatujak market, Bangkok. The physical characteristics of both types of planting materials indicate that the FPM has a larger specific surface area than the HDB. The factors affecting potassium adsorption on both the planting materials such as an equilibration time and some solid/solution ratios were investigated. The suitable equilibration time for the adsorption to reach an equilibrium on the FPM and HDB is one and two hours, respectively. The highest amounts of potassium ion adsorbed on both the planting materials were obtained when the solid/solution ratio was 1 ： 15. The adsorption behavior on both the planting materials tends to correspond with the Freundlich isotherm.

OBJECTIVE： To investigate the antioxidant activities as well as phytochemical constituents of Antidesma thwaitesianum Mull. Arg. leaf extracts. METHODS： The leaves of A. thwaitesianum were extracted using three different methods： blending with distilled water, maceration with ethanol and decoction. The chemical antioxidant activity of the plant leaf extracts was evaluated using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picryhydrazyl （DPPH） radical and 2,2＇-azinobis（3- ethylbenzo-thiazoline-6-sulfonic acid） diammonium salt （ABTS＊） radical scavenging assays, as well as the ferric reducing antioxidant power assay. Cellular antioxidant activity was determined by superoxide and nitric oxide scavenging assays. The cytotoxicity of the leaf extracts in RAW 264.7 and differentiated HL-60 cells was tested in parallel using 3-（4,5-dimethyl-2-thiazolyl）-2,5-diphenyl-2H-tetrazolium bromide and 3-（4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl）-5-（3-carboxymethoxyphenyl）-2-（4-sulfophenyl）-2H-tetrazolium assays, respectively. The total phenolic and flavonoid contents were also assessed by spectrophotometric analysis Phytochemical constituents of the most potent extract were investigated by liquid chromatography with an electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometer （LC-ESI-QTOF-MS/MS）. RESULTS： The ethanolic （ME） and decoction （LW） extracts of dried leaves had the highest chemical scavenging activity against DPPH and ABTS＋ free radicals with half maximal effective concentration （EC50） values ranging from 3.54 to 6.44 μg/mL. ME and LW exerted moderate ferric reducing activity, with ferric reducing antioxidant power values of 847.41 and 941.26 mg Fe2＋/g extract, respectively. Similarly, ME showed potent cellular scavenging activity against superoxide and nitric oxide radicals with EC50 values of 58.12 and 71.90 μg/mL, respectively. Post-reform China has been experiencing two major demographic changes： an increasingly aging population and an extraordinary surge of rural-urban migrants. The question we ask is： are these two demographic changes related？ If yes, then, how？ The standard view in the migration literature is that the older the migrant, the lower the likelihood of migration. This paper proposes a simple theory of temporary migration for unskilled labor to fit the context of China Motivated by our model, we then use both cross-sectional micro data and panel macro data to examine the potential impacts of aging on migration. We find that shifts in China＇s age distribution have generated significant changes in the country＇s migration patterns： migration will shift to closer provinces （probably switching from interprovincial migration to intra-provincial migration） and will concentrate to a few destination provinces.
