This study aimed to investigate the activity of lactase immobilized polycaprolactone and silk fibroin(PCL/SF)-based nanofiber and nitrocellulose membrane for the preparation of lactose-reduced ***/SF-based nanofiber was prepared by using the electrospinning *** lactase enzyme was immobilized using the physical adsorption method on both surfaces,and then the optimum operating temperature and pH of the immobilized enzymes were *** efficiency of the immobilized lactase enzyme was determined in both goat and cow *** nutrient content of milk was also analyzed before and after the incubation of nanofiber and membrane with *** lactose hydrolysis efficiency of the lactase immobilized nitrocellulose membrane was found to be higher than the lactase immobilized PCL/SF-based *** was hydrolyzed 59%in cow milk and 87%in goat milk by using lactase immobilized nitrocellulose membrane.42%of lactose was also hydrolyzed in cow milk and 21%was hydrolyzed in goat milk by using lactase immobilized PCL/SF-based ***,the use of these two bioactive surfaces did not change the fat and protein composition of both cow and goat *** conclusion,lactase immobilized nitrocellulose membrane was found to be more advantageous in the production of lactose-reduced milk than the lactase immobilized polycaprolactone/silk fibroin nanofiber.

This study examines the effect of nanosilica(NS)additive to improve the mechanical properties of clay,clayey sand,and *** engineering properties of the soils were investigated through Atterberg limits,compaction,unconfined compression,ultrasonic pulse velocity(UPV),freeze-thaw,and direct shear *** NS content varied from 0%to 0.7%and cement content was 5%and 10%by the dry weight of the *** curing period varied from 7 d to 150 *** consistency,compaction,and strength properties of the soils were affected by the presence of NS and *** optimum NS contents in clay specimens with 5%and 10%cement were 0.5%and 0.7%,*** was 0.7%in sand specimens with both cement ratios,as well as 0.3%and 0.7%in clayey sand specimens with 5%and 10%cement,*** terms of freeze-thaw resistance,clayey sand specimens containing 0.5%NS and 10%cement had the minimum strength *** relationships existed between the ultrasonic pulse velocity(UPV)and the unconfined compressive strength(UCS)of soil specimens having the same curing *** shear strength parameters of the soils also improved with the addition of *** electron microscope(SEM)images demonstrated that cement and NS contributed to the improvement of the soils by producing a denser and more uniform *** was concluded that the minor addition of NS could potentially improve the geomechanical properties of the soils.

In future decades, initiatives on biomass-based energy development in Europe should reduce fossil fuel dependence and help to combat climate change as required by the conference of the parties 21. In this context, forest biomass can play a key role within the bioenergy sector due to its high growth potential. The use of forest biomass for energy has positive and negative effects on other ecosystem services, on stand characteristics, and on forest management practices. The aim of this study is to analyse the effects of forest bioenergy production on six ecosystem services(biodiversity, recreation, landscape aesthetics,carbon sequestration, soil erosion protection, water quality). These effects have been assessed by 80 experts in two countries(Italy and Turkey), considering two different forest management practices(clear-cutting of coppices and woody residue removal after felling in high forests). The results show that coppice clear-cutting has negative effects on almost all ecosystem services according to the experts’ opinions. The highest negative effects are on landscape aesthetics and soil protection. The effects of woody residue removal on biodiversity, carbon sequestration, soil erosion protection, and water quality are considered negative by the experts, while the effects on recreation activities and landscape aesthetics are considered positive. The highest negative effects of this forest management scenario are on soil protection and biodiversity. The experts’ opinions about the effects of forest management practices on ecosystem services can provide information to understand the environmental sustainability of bioenergy development in future years.

A fractional dynamical model for honeybee colony population

Bees are the main contributors of pollination and it is predicted that disruption of pollination causes some serious problems in economics, agriculture and ecology. It has been reported that honeybee colony collapse has increased dramatically for some time in different parts of the world. In order to investigate the causes of colony collapse, we establish a fractional multi-order honeybee colony population model. Two different models with Caputo and Caputo-Fabrizio differentiation operators have been compared. We justify the existence and uniqueness of the solution. Stability analysis has been presented. We find the numerical values of the fractional order （p, q） so that the numerical results are close to the experimental findings more than the integer-order case.

Poly(methylmethacrylate)(PMMA)is a widely used material in dental applications,particularly as denture *** to thermally unstable and wet oral cavity,the implanted PMMA based resins occasionally deform and grow bacterial biofilms at the interface between oral cavity and the *** strategies attempted earlier to improve the bacterial resistance and mechanical performance of ***(ethyleneimine)(PEI)is a hyperbranched cationic polymer shown earlier to improve antibacterial activity of resins but do not improve mechanical properties of the resins alone,while silk fibroin(SF)is a natural biopolymer with unique material *** this study,we combined SF and PEI towards development of antibacterial and mechanically superior PMMA based materials towards overcoming its *** polyblend electrospinning to combine SF,PEI and PMMA,we successfully developed intrinsically antibacterial and mechanically reinforced nanofiber *** propose that the resulting nanofiber mats have the potential to be incorporated into PMMA based denture resin materials to overcome the problems of patients and improve their quality of life.

Pure copper and its composites reinforced with Ni3Al particles were produced by powder metallurgy （PM）. Ni3Al powders were produced by mechanical ball milling from vacuum arc melted compounds. The Ni3Al powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction （XRD）. The microscopy examinations revealed that the Ni3Al particles were distributed uniformly in the matrix. The effects of the particle fraction on the density, electrical conductivity, strength and dry sliding wear resistance of composite were investigated. It was found that the density and electrical conductivity of the composites decrease while the compression yield strength and wear resistance of composites increase with an increase in the particle fraction. The dry sliding wear tests were performed with pin-on-disk geometry. After sliding wear tests, the worn surfaces were examined by scanning electron microscopy （SEM） equipped with an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer （EDS）. Results have shown that the wear mechanism is oxidative and adhesive.

Community structure of epiphytic algae on three different macrophytes at Acarlar floodplain forest(northern Turkey)

The aim of this study was to determine the species composition, biodiversity and, relative abundance of epiphytic algae and their relationship with environmental variables on three different macrophytes( Nymphaea alba, Ceratophyllum demersum, Typha latifolia) at Acarlar Floodplain Forest(AFF). Epiphytic algae were gathered monthly by collecting aquatic plants between November 2011 and October 2012, except in winter when there were no plants. In this study, 67 taxa on N. alba, 66 taxa on C. demersum and 66 taxa on T. latifolia were identified as epiphytic algae. The mean value of species richness was 17, that of diversity was 1.5 and that of evenness was 0.54 for epiphytic algae on N. alba, 17, 1.1, and 0.39 on C. demersum, and 18, 1.64, and 0.56 on T. latifolia, respectively. Oscillatoria sp. and Komvophoron crassum(Vozzen) Anagnostidis and Komárek were the most abundant and consistent epiphytic algal species, occurring in high abundance on all macrophytes. Results show that species composition of epiphytic algae was different, but diversity values were similar on all the macrophytes. The hydrological pulse is one of the most important factors determining the physical and chemical environment of the epiphytic algal community. However, substrate type also affected the colonization by F. capucina, O. sancta, P. catenata, and L. truncicola more than the epiphytic algal seasonality.

Cyanobacteria are considered as a sustainable feedstock for the production of biochemically active compounds such as phycobiliproteins(PBPs).In this study,the impact of nitrogen(N)and phosphorus(P)availability on PBP production of“N-free acclimated”Anabaena variabilis IMU8 was *** isolation and identification,the cyanobacterium has been maintained in N-free BG-11 medium for more than 20 *** experimentation,the strain was incubated in N-replete,N-depleted,N-P-depleted BG-11 ***-term diazotrophic cultivation of *** IMU8 resulted in elevated PBP productivity with a limited impact on *** compared to N-depleted ones,N supply stimulated a slight induction of growth and total saccharide production,but total protein content did not change while PBP production *** the other hand,N-P-depletion resulted in decreased growth rate along with reduced total protein and PBP production while rapid induction of total saccharide production was *** transform infrared spectroscopy results refer that membrane-bound oligosaccharides may have regulatory roles for PBP production in *** IMU8 during long term diazotrophic cultivation.
