Introduction: The impact of sleep on student life is crucial, particularly for those in demanding.fields such as medicine. This study examines the relationships between sleep patterns, academic performance, and social integ.ation among.medical students, who often face irreg.lar sleep cycles and sleep deprivation due to rig.rous academic demands. Aim: This study aims to assess how sleep issues affect academic achievement and social relationships among.medical students. Method: Data were collected from 215 medical students throug. surveys and academic records. Quantitative data provided insig.ts into sleep quality and academic performance, while qualitative interviews explored the effects of sleep on social interactions. Results: The finding. revealed a sig.ificant correlation between sleep quality and academic performance, with students reporting.better sleep hyg.ene achieving.hig.er g.ades. Qualitative data indicated that poor sleep neg.tively impacts social interactions, leading.to feeling. of isolation and reduced social participation. Conclusions: The study hig.lig.ts the importance of promoting.g.od sleep practices in medical schools to enhance academic success and social well-being. Interventions aimed at improving.sleep quality may help reduce burnout and improve overall well-being.among.medical students. Future research should focus on long.tudinal studies to better understand the long.term effects of sleep on academic and social outcomes in this population.

The effects of variety and g.owth location on g.ain composition and starch structures were investig.ted using.three rice （Oryza sativa L.） cultivars （Phka Romduol, Sen Pidao and IR66） with different amylose contents. All the three cultivars were planted in three different ag.o-climatic zones （Phnom Penh, Coastal and Plateau） of Cambodia. The protein content of polished g.ains increased when rice was planted at a location with hig.er averag. temperature, but their lipid content decreased. The amylose content and deg.ee of branching.were not g.eatly affected by the minor temperature differences among.the g.owing.locations. Starch fine structures characterized by the chain-leng.h distribution were sig.ificantly different among.the cultivars, but not sig.ificantly among.different locations. The results sug.ested that protein and lipid biosyntheses were more sensitive to the environmental temperature than that of starch in rice g.ains.
