The objective of this paper is to show that the German way towards renewable energy production could become an example for successful energy transition in other *** on the Renewable Energy Act(Erneuerbare Energien Gesetz(EEG))in the year 2000 the most important steps for this transition seemed to be start-ups with relevant and reliable feed-in tariffs,the involvement of“many single”intelligently and digitally connected producers to form a kind of“swarm-energy.”In addition regional smart grids,a national grid structure with sufficient capacity,and,last but not least,implementation of energy efficiency tools in the building,construction and transport sector,are necessary driving sources.

Oxygen tolerance capacity of upflow anaerobic solid-state(UASS) with anaerobic filter(AF) system

In order to investigate the oxygen tolerance capacity of upflow anaerobic solid-state（UASS）with anaerobic filter（AF） system, the effect of microaeration on thermophilic anaerobic digestion of maize straw was investigated under batch conditions and in the UASS with AF system. Aeration intensities of 0–431 m L O2/gvswere conducted as pretreatment under batch conditions. Aeration pretreatment obviously enhanced anaerobic digestion and an aeration intensity of 431 m L O2/gvsincreased the methane yield by 82.2%. Aeration intensities of 0–355 m L O2/gvswere conducted in the process liquor circulation of the UASS with AF system. Dissolved oxygen（DO） of UASS and AF reactors kept around 1.39 ±0.27 and 0.99 ± 0.38 mg/L, respectively. p H was relatively stable around 7.11 ± 0.04. Volatile fatty acids and soluble chemical oxygen demand concentration in UASS reactor were higher than those in AF reactor. Methane yield of the whole system was almost stable at 85 ± 7 m L/gvs as aeration intensity increased step by step. The UASS with AF system showed good oxygen tolerance capacity.

Quantifying forest structural diversity based on large-scale inventory data:a new approach to support biodiversity monitoring

Background: The importance of structurally diverse forests for the conservation of biodiversity and provision of a wide range of ecosystem services has been widely recognised. However, tools to quantify structural diversity of forests in an objective and quantitative way across many forest types and sites are still needed, for example to support biodiversity monitoring. The existing approaches to quantify forest structural diversity are based on small geographical regions or single forest types, typically using only small data ***: Here we developed an index of structural diversity based on National Forest Inventory(NFI) data of BadenWurttemberg, Germany, a state with 1.3 million ha of diverse forest types in different ownerships. Based on a literature review, 11 aspects of structural diversity were identified a priori as crucially important to describe structural diversity. An initial comprehensive list of 52 variables derived from National Forest Inventory(NFI) data related to structural diversity was reduced by applying five selection criteria to arrive at one variable for each aspect of structural diversity. These variables comprise 1) quadratic mean diameter at breast height(DBH), 2) standard deviation of DBH, 3) standard deviation of stand height, 4) number of decay classes, 5) bark-diversity index, 6) trees with DBH ≥ 40 cm, 7) diversity of flowering and fructification, 8) average mean diameter of downed deadwood, 9) mean DBH of standing deadwood, 10) tree species richness and 11) tree species richness in the regeneration layer. These variables were combined into a simple,additive index to quantify the level of structural diversity, which assumes values between 0 and 1. With the development of new heat resistant magnesium alloys, the automotive industry has introduced several parts to the drive train. The rising number of large magnesium components will result in a higher quantity of automotive post consumer scrap. It was the aim of this work to find a reasonable alloy system for the recycling of these magnesium drive train components. A matrix of potential recy-cling alloys based on the magnesium alloy AM50 was prepared via permanent mould casting. The materials were investigated via tensile testing, creep tests and salt spray tests. Three alloys were selected for processing via high pressure die casting and the tests were repeated on the new materials. A promising system for recycling has been isolated and will be investigated more deeply for the influence of impurities.

Forensic Readiness: Emerging Discipline for Creating Reliable and Secure Digital Evidence

Traditional approaches to digital forensics reconstruct events within digital systems that often are not built for the creation of evidence; however,there is an emerging discipline of forensic readiness that examines what it takes to build systems and devices that produce digital data records for which admissibility is a requirement. This paper reviews the motivation behind research in this area,a generic technical solution that uses hardware-based security to bind digital records to a particular state of a device and proposed applications of this solution in concrete,practical scenarios. Research history in this area,the notion of secure digital evidence and a technical solution are discussed. A solution to creating hardware-based security in devices producing digital evidence was proposed in 2012. Additionally,this paper revises the proposal and discusses three distinct scenarios where forensic readiness of devices and secure digital evidence are relevant. It shows,how the different requirements of the three scenarios can be realized using a hardware-based solution. The scenarios are:lawful interception of voice communication,automotive black box,precise farming. These three scenarios come from very distinctive application domains. Nevertheless,they share a common set of security requirements for processes to be documented and data records to be stored.

We consider an adaptive finite element method （AFEM） for obstacle problems associated with linear second order elliptic boundary value problems and prove a reduction in the energy norm of the discretization error which leads to R-linear convergence. This result is shown to hold up to a consistency error due to the extension of the discrete multipliers （point functionals） to H^-1 and a possible mismatch between the continuous and discrete coincidence and noncoincidence sets. The AFEM is based on a residual-type error estimator consisting of element and edge residuals. The a posteriori error analysis reveals that the significant difference to the unconstrained case lies in the fact that these residuals only have to be taken into account within the discrete noncoincidence set. The proof of the error reduction property uses the reliability and the discrete local efficiency of the estimator as well as a perturbed Galerkin orthogonality. Numerical results are given illustrating the performance of the AFEM.

Continuous size fractionation of magnetic nanoparticles by using simulated moving bed chromatography

The size fractionation of magnetic nanoparticles is a technical problem,which until today can only be solved with great ***,there is an important demand for nanoparticles with sharp size distributions,for example for medical technology or sensor *** magnetic chromatography,we show a promising method for fractionation of magnetic nanoparticles with respect to their size and/or magnetic *** was achieved by passing magnetic nanoparticles through a packed bed of fine steel spheres with which they interact magnetically because single domain ferro-/ferrimagnetic nanoparticles show a spontaneous *** the strength of this interaction is related to particle size,the principle is suitable for size *** concept was transferred into a continuous process in this work using a so-called simulated moving bed *** a suspension of magnetic nanoparticles within a size range from 20 to 120 nm,the process showed a separation sharpness of up to 0.52 with recovery rates of 100%.The continuous feed stream of magnetic nanoparticles could be fractionated with a space-time-yield of up to 5 mg/(L∙min).Due to the easy scalability of continuous chromatography,the process is a promising approach for the efficient fractionation of industrially relevant amounts of magnetic nanoparticles.

层状双金属氢氧化物(LDHs)作为一种类水滑石薄膜,以其优异的特性在许多领域中具有广泛的应用.然而,现有的LDH膜制备路线具有大规模生长受限和不可控等问题.本文中,我们受一种草本植物“落地生根”(Bryophyllum Pinnatum)具有肆意生长特性的启发,首次引入可牺牲的共溅射锌-铝中间层作为“植物种子”,通过“局部溶解”和“溶液渗透”的结构转化机制在任意形状、大小及材质的基底材料上实现大规模、厚度可控的LDH膜制备.通过调控中间膜的成分、结构和表面形貌,设计具有不同特性的LDH转化膜.实验结果表明,所制备的LDH膜具有较大的厚度和多级微观结构的特性,在严苛的磨损条件下仍能实现良好的机械稳定性.另外,我们设计了一系列基于锌-铝单金属中间层的电偶模拟实验对LDH膜的化学转化机理进行了深入探究,解决了传统复杂水热过程中实时监测困难的问题.本工作不仅开发了一种制备具有多尺度特性的LDH转化膜的新策略,同时揭示了复杂的LDH原位转化机理,为拓宽LDH材料在先进智能材料上的实际应用提供了新的发展思路.
