Cd-bearing solid wastes are considered to be a serious threat to the environment,and effective strategies for their treatment are urgently *** sintering has been considered as a promising method for efficiently incorporating heavy metal-containing solid wastes into various ceramic ***-rich dredged river sediment,especially Al and Si-containing oxides,can be treated as alternative ceramic precursors rather than being disposed of as solid *** examine the feasibility of using waste sediment for Cd stabilization and the phase transition mechanisms,this study conducted a sintering scheme for the mixtures of CdO and dredged river sediment with different(Al+Si):Cd mole *** investigations have been performed on phases transformation,Cd incorporation mechanisms,elemental distribution,and leaching behaviors of the sintered *** showed that Cd incorporation and transformation in the sintered products were influenced by the mole ratio of(Al+Si):*** the high-Cd series((Al+Si):Cd=6:1),CdSiO_(3),Cd_(2)SiO_(4),CdAl_(2)(SiO_(4))_(2) and Cd_(2)Al_(2)Si_(2)O_(9) were predominant Cd-containing product phases,while Cd2Al2Si2O9 was replaced by CdAl_(4)O_(7) when the mole ratio of(Al+Si):Cd was 12:1(low-Cd series).Cd was efficiently stabilized in both reaction series after being sintered at≥900℃,withd ratio even after a prolonged leaching time,indicating excellent long-term Cd *** study demonstrated that both Cd-containing phases and the amorphous Al-/Si-containing matrices all played critical roles in Cd stabilization.A promising strategy can be proposed to simultaneously reuse the solid waste as ceramic precursors and stabilize heavy metals in the ceramic products.

Structural and optical properties of green emitting Y_(2)SiO_(5):Tb^(3+) and Gd_(2)SiO_(5):Tb^(3+) nanoparticles for modern lighting applications

The optical and structural properties of Tb^(3+)-doped yttrium and gadolinium oxyorthosilicate(Y_(2)SiO_(5) and Gd_(2)SiO_(5)) phosphors were *** samples were synthesized via sol-gel combustion method using organic *** phase purity and structural properties of the samples were determined via combined approach of powder X-ray diffraction,Fourier transformation infrared(FTIR) and transmission electron microscopy(TEM).X-ray measurements revel monoclinic crystal lattice with P_(21/c) symmetry for both M_(2)SiO_(5)(pure host) and M_(2)SiO_(5):Tb^(3+)(doped) silicates,irrespective of the nature of metal(Y or Gd),presence or absence of Tb^(3+)in lattice and change in calcination temperature up to 1050℃.FTIR analysis was applied to confirm the bonding of prepared *** appearance of bands corresponding to SiO_(4) tetrahedra(880-1020 cm^(-1)) suggest the layered structure and support the diffraction *** micrographs confirm the synthesis of spherical nanoparticles with filled morphology,narrow size distribution and slightly agglomerated crystallites of the *** elemental composition of prepared materials was determined using energy dispersive X-ray *** spectra show peaks only for elements assimilated within the host *** photoluminescence(PL) emission spectra of Tb^(3+)-doped samples show ^(5)d_(4)→^(7)F_(J)(J=3-6) transitions under 254 *** dominant peak at 544 nm for ^(5)d_(4)→^(7)F_(5) transition is responsible for the emission of green light on ultraviolet-visible excitation in both the Tb^(3+)-doped host *** to advantageous properties like intense PL and high crystallinity,these nanophosphors could possess potential applications in the mercury free lighting sources and optoelectronic devices.

Effects of supplemental xylanase and xylooligosaccharides on production performance and gut health variables of broiler chickens

Nanoscale visualization of hot carrier generation and transfer at non-noble metal and oxide interface

The conversion efficiency of energy-harvesting devices can be increased by utilizing hot-carriers(HCs).However,due to ultrafast carrier-carrier scattering and the lack of carrier injection dynamics,HC-based devices have low *** the present work,we report the effective utilization of HCs at the nanoscale and their transfer dynamics from a non-noble metal to a metal oxide interface by means of real-space photocurrent mapping by using local probe techniques and conducting femtosecond transient absorption(TA)*** photocurrent maps obtained under white light unambiguously show that the HCs are injected into the metal oxide layer from the TiN layer,as also confirmed by conductive atomic force *** addition,the increased photocurrent in the bilayer structure indicates the injection of HCs from both layers due to the broadband absorption efficiency of TiN layer,passivation of the surface states by the top TiN layer,and smaller barrier height of the ***,electrostatic force microscopy and Kelvin probe force microscopy provide direct evidence of charge injection from TiN to the MoO_(x)film at the *** TA absorption spectra show a strong photo-bleaching signal over wide spectral range and ultrafast decaying behavior at the picosecond time scale,which indicate efficient electron transfer from TiN to MoO_(x).Thus,our simple and effective approach can facilitate HC collection under white light,thereby achieving high conversion efficiency for optoelectronic devices.

Influence of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease on non-variceal upper gastrointestinal bleeding:A nationwide analysis

Spatio-temporal variation and propagation direction of coal fire in Jharia Coalfield,India by satellite-based multi-temporal night-time land surface temperature imaging

In this paper,the spatio-temporal variation and propagation direction of coal fire were studied in the Jharia Coalfield(JCF),India during 2006–2015 through satellite-based night-time land surface temperature(LST)*** LST was retrieved from Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer(ASTER)night-time thermal-infrared data by a robust split-window algorithm based on scene-specific regression coefficients,band-specific hybrid emissivity,and night-time atmospheric *** LST-profile-based coal fire detection algorithm was formulated through statistical analysis of the LST values along multiple transects across diverse coal fire locations in the JCF in order to compute date-specific threshold temperatures for separating thermally-anomalous and background *** algorithm efficiently separates surface fire,subsurface fire,and thermally-anomalous transitional *** the observation period,it was noticed that the coal fire area increased significantly,which resulted from new coal fire at many places owing to extensive opencast-mining *** was observed that the fire propagation occurred primarily along the dip direction of the coal *** places,lateral-propagation of limited spatial extent was also observed along the strike direction possibly due to spatial continuity of the coal seams along ***,the opencast-mining activities carried out during 2009–2015 and the structurally weak planes facilitated the fire propagation.

Transcriptome-Based Examination of Putative Pollen Allergens of Rice （Oryza sativa ssp. japonica）

Pollen allergens are among the most abundantly transcribed and translated products in the life history of plants, and particularly grasses. To identify different pollen allergens in rice, putative allergens were identified in the rice genome and their expression characterized using the Affymetrix 57K rice GeneChip microarray. Among the most abundant pollen-specific candidate transcripts were Ory s 1 beta-expansin, Ory s 2, Ory s 7 EF hand, Q ry s 11, Ory s 12 profilin A, Ory s 23, glycosyl hydrolase family 28 （polygalacturonase）, and FAd binding proteins. Highly expressed pollen proteins are frequently present in multiple copy numbers, sometimes with mirror images located on nearby regions of the opposite dNA strand. Many of these are intronless and inserted as copies that retain nearly exact copies of their regulatory elements. Ory s 23 reflects low variability and high copy number, suggesting recent gene amplification. Some copies contain pseudogenes, which may reflect their origin through activity of retrotransposition; some putative allergenic sequences bear fusion products with repeat sequences of transposable elements （LTRs）. The abundance of nearby repetitive sequences, activation of transposable elements, and high production of mRNA transcripts appear to coincide in pollen and may contribute to a syndrome in which highly transcribed proteins may be copied and inserted with streamlined features for translation, including grouping and removal of introns.

Uroflowmetric analysis and derivation of nomograms for normal paediatric Indian population between 5 to 15 years of age

Objective:We aimed to established normal uroflowmetric values and subsequently derived nomograms of _(max)imum flow rate(Q_(max))and average flow rate(Q_(avg))against voided volume(VV)in children aged 5-15 years at our ***:A total of 440 children underwent uroflowmetric evaluation with no history of urological,renal,psychiatric,or neurological disorder between 5 and 15 years of *** subject data regarding Q_(max),Q_(avg),VV,time to Q_(max),and flow time,as well as age,sex,height,and weight were *** the 440 children,around 300(68.18%)children could produce a normal flow rate at VV of more than 50 *** the remaining 140(31.82%)children,50.00%voided less than 50 mL,and remaining 50.00%had abnormal voiding pattern,staccato or interrupted(21.43%each)and plateau or tower shaped(3.57%each).Cases were divided into two age groups(5-9 years and 10-15 years),and uroflowmetric analysis was done between boys and girls in both age groups to derive nomograms of Q_(avg) and Q_(max).Results:Q_(max) and Q_(avg) flow nomograms were plotted for boys and *** Q_(max) for boys was 16.68 mL/s and for girls 20.69 mL/*** mean Q_(avg) values were 11.04 mL/s and 8.60 mL/s for girls and boys,*** Q_(max) and Q_(avg) values were higher in *** were significant increases in flow rates with increasing age,body surface area,and VV in both ***:Nomograms for Q_(max) and Q_(avg) may be a useful tool in evaluation of lower urinary tract disturbances in children.
