Mangiferaindica L. （carabao mango）, AnnonaMuricata L. （soursop）, Citrofortunellamicrocarpa（calamansi）, and Musa acuminate x balbisianaColla （ABB Group）（plantain banana） have long been used in the processed food industries. However, the peelsof these fruits are normally disposed as waste or at most used as fertilizer and feeds. The objective of the study is to characterize the peels of these fruits as functional food/ingredient. Freeze-dried fruits peels of carabao mango, soursop, calamansi and plantain banana were analyzed for proximate composition, dietary fiber and phytonutrients contents, fermentability invitro and antioxidant activity. Results showed soursop peels having significantly higher soluble （12.75 g/100 g sample） and insoluble （62.55 g/100 g sample） dietary fiber among the fruit peels studied. All peels produced significant amounts of short chain fatty acids, propionate 〉 acetate 〉 butyrate. Carabao mango peels produced the highest amount of acetate while calamansipeels, the highest propionate （215.8± 3.6 mg/100 g）. Carabao mango and soursop peels have significantly greater total polyphenols, flavonoids, anthocyanidins andantioxidant activity. The study showed that fruit peels of carabao mango, soursop, calamansi and plantain banana can be potential functional food ingredients.

The general objective of this article was to construct and describe the psychometric properties of a scale of selfcare behaviors against *** was a descriptive,cross-sectional,psychometric validation study of a scale created to measure self-care behaviors in relation to COVID-19 in a total sample of 333 probabilistically *** validity was evaluated by a review of 10 experts and quantitative validity by means of exploratory factor analysis using the principal components *** consistency was measured with Cronbach’s alpha twice and the test-retest was evaluated by calculating the intraclass *** final scale consisted of 29 *** Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin test of adequacy yielded a value of 0.926,and the Bartlett’s test of sphericity X^(2)=4611 with a p-value<*** variance explained by the three retained factors with a total of 29 items was 50.03%.The Cronbach’s alpha internal consistency evaluation yielded an initial value of 0.923 and,in a second evaluation,showed a value of *** addition,the intraclass coefficient in the test-retest yielded a value of *** instrument created and validated possessed the necessary conditions as a useful and reliable tool for measuring self-care behaviors in relation to COVID-19 in a population of university students and it is important that it can be applied in other regions of the world.

This research aims to improve the efficiency in estimating the Hurst exponent in financial time series.A new procedure is developed based on equality in distribution and is applicable to the estimation methods of the Hurst *** show how to use this new procedure with three of the most popular algorithms(generalized Hurst exponet,total triangles area,and fractal dimension)in the *** show that this new approach improves the accuracy of the original methods,mainly for longer *** second contribution of this study is that we show how to use this methodology to test whether the series is self-similar,constructing a confidence interval for the Hurst exponent for which the series satisfies this ***,we present an empirical application of this new procedure to stocks of the S&P500 *** to previous contributions,we consider this to be relevant to financial literature,as it helps to avoid inappropriate interpretations of market efficiency that can lead to erroneous decisions not only by market participants but also by policymakers.

Forests improve the livelihoods and resilience of communities in diverse ways. In particular, soils provide important environmental services for communities in addition to performing many essential ecological functions in forest ecosystems, such as nutrient uptake, organic matter decomposition, water storage, and provision of anchorage for plant growth. The sound management of forest soils, although often disregarded, is a key element of sustainable forest management. From 2002 to 2016 the Forest Soil Conservation and Restoration Sub-Program was designed and implemented by the National Forest Commission (CONAFOR) in Mexico. Forests in Mexico have high biological diversity and are often owned, governed, and managed by communities or, in some cases, community forestry is practiced. Despite the importance of periodic monitoring to ensure that policies are both effective and suitable for diverse conditions and decision making, the policies implemented by this program were not evaluated during its years of operation. Therefore, in the present study, we aimed to identify the deficiencies of this policy as well as opportunities based on a review of the official information available on the Forest Soil Conservation and Restoration Sub-Program of CONAFOR during the 2002-2016 period and interviews with key informants. In addition, we aimed to highlight experiences that may be useful for similar soil conservation policies in tropical forest regions. The identified limitations ranged from conceptual problems such as policy weakness and lack of understanding of local drivers of soil degradation to an overly rigid implementation of soil conservation measures across diverse forest ecosystems and socio-ecological contexts. Real-world evidence (RWE) is clinical evidence on a medical product’s safety and efficacy that is generated using real-world data (RWD) resulting from routine healthcare delivery. This study evaluates the clinical efficacy of amoxicillin + clavulanic acid in children with pharyngitis, acute otitis, or acute rhinosinusitis with suspected bacterial origin under normal office and home conditions. Methods: This was a real-life, prospective, observational, pharmacovigilance study. It included children of both sexes between 2 and 12 years old, with a diagnosis of Rhinopharyngitis (tonsillitis), Acute Otitis Media and Rhinosinusitis. The main effectiveness variable evaluated was reduction and time to resolution of symptoms. All patients received Amoxicillin/Clavulanic Acid suspension 600 mg/42.9 mg/5 mL at a dose of 90 mg/Kg/day in two doses, every 12 hours for 7 days. The evaluations were carried out at the beginning, at 72 hours (3rd day) and at 7 days. All patients underwent culture and antibiogram. Results: The majority of cultures were negative for pathogenic germs, suspecting unidentifiable germs, or viral etiology despite the rigorous selection of subjects following validated scores. The most frequently isolated germ was Staphylococcus aureus;growth of gram-negative bacteria was reported in 33.33% of the cultures. There was a significant improvement in symptoms in children with tonsillitis and rhinosinusitis from the first 72 hours of treatment, persisting until the 7 days. In the otitis media group, returning to normal by the tenth day. During the conduction of this investigation, no adverse effects associated with the prescribed therapy were reported.

Due to its ubiquitous presence in the environment and the lack of a scientific consensus regarding the environmental safety of the widely used anionic surfactant Sodium Lauryl Sulfate(CAS No:151-21-3),a systematic literature review and thematic analysis was *** studies about sodium lauryl sulfate(SLS)in the environment in key databases were reviewed,with coding methods used to identify impact categories from SLS exposure without potential narration *** on the limited number of studies on SLS,there is empirical evidence of this surfactant contributing to environmental toxicity at various concentrations(0.004-3509 mg L^(-1)),with aquatic organisms at a higher risk from ***,exposure to SLS can elicit changes to various organismic processes and environmental ***,further study on SLS in various environmental compartments is recommended to monitor the level of SLS pollution,understand its behavior upon contact with various environmental media,and understand its impacts on flora and ***,SLS quantification should be done on commonly used consumer products to potentially regulate its use and to consequently curb SLS pollution from its source.

AIM: To investigate the prevalence and penetrance of hMSH6 mutations in Spanish HNPCC families that was negative for mutation in hMLH1 or ***: We used PCR-based DGGE assay and direct Sequencing to screen for hMSH6 gene in 91 HNPCC ***: we have identified 10 families with germ-line mutations in the DNA sequence. These mutations included two intronic variation, three missense mutation, one nonsense mutation, and four silent mutations. Among the 10 germ-line mutations identified in the Spanish cohort,8 were novel, perhaps, suggesting different mutational spectra in the Spanish population. Detailed pedigrees were constructed for the three families with a possible pathogenic hMSH6 mutation. The two silent mutations H388H and L758L, detected in a person affected of colorectal cancer at age 29, produce loss of the wild-type allele in the tumor sample. Immunohistochemical analysis showed that expression of MSH6 protein was lost only in the tumors from the carriers of V878A and Q263X ***: Altogether, our results indicate that disease-causing germ-line mutations of hMSH6 are very less frequent in Spanish HNPCC families.

H2 Production from Wind Power in a Wind Farm in Spain

A hydrogen production and conversion plant from wind power was installed in the Sotavento wind farm by Gas Natural and the Galician Government. This facility is the highest electrolysis power installed at the European level. It consists of an electrolyser of 300 kW, a piston compressor, a 1,725 Nm3 H2 storage system and an engine of 55 kW. This pilot plant is being operated by Natural Gas in order to extrapolate its behavior to that of an industrial facility capable of managing all the production of Sotavento wind farm following different strategies： balancing, peak-shaving and repowering. In this paper, preliminary results at the facility are presented. The aim of these first tests has been to describe the operation of equipment under operating conditions required in the management of wind power production, in order to understand the behavior of the different equipment and try to make them suitable for this type of applications. This paper shows the difficulty of operating these systems under the wind power requirements.
