N4-methylcytidine ribosomal RNA methylation in chloroplasts is crucial for chloroplast function,development,and abscisic acid response in Arabidopsis

Although the essential role of messenger RNA methylation in the nucleus is increasingly understood,the nature of ribosomal RNA(rRNA)methyltransferases and the role of rRNA methylation in chloroplasts remain largely unknown.A recent study revealed that CMAL(for Chloroplast mraW-Like)is a chloroplast-localized rRNA methyltransferase that is responsible for N4-methylcytidine(m^(4)C)in 16S chloroplast rRNA in Arabidopsis *** this study,we further examined the role of CMAL in chloroplast biogenesis and function,development,and hormone *** cmal mutant showed reduced chlorophyll biosynthesis,photosynthetic activity,and growth-defect phenotypes,including severely stunted stems,fewer siliques,and lower seed *** cmal mutant was hypersensitive to chloroplast translation inhibitors,such as lincomycin and erythromycin,indicating that the m^(4)C methylation defect in the 16S rRNA leads to a reduced translational activity in ***,the stunted stem of the cmal mutant was partially rescued by exogenous gibberellic acid or *** cmal mutant grew poorer than wild type,whereas the CMAL-overexpressing transgenic Arabidopsis plants grew better than wild type in the presence of abscisic ***,these results indicate that CMAL is an indispensable rRNA methyltransferase in chloroplasts and is crucial for chloroplast biogenesis and function,photosynthesis,and hormone response during plant growth and development.

Some Strong Laws of Large Numbers for Blockwise Martingale Difference Sequences in Martingale Type p Banach Spaces

For a blockwise martingale difference sequence of random elements {Vn, n ≥ 1} taking values in a real separable martingale type p （1 ≤ p ≤ 2） Banach space, conditions are provided for strong laws of large numbers of the form limn→∞ Vi/gn = 0 almost surely to hold where the constants gn ↑∞. A result of Hall and Heyde [Martingale Limit Theory and Its Application, Academic Press, New York, 1980, p. 36] which was obtained for sequences of random variables is extended to a martingale type p （1〈 p ≤2） Banach space setting and to hold with a Marcinkiewicz-Zygmund type normalization. Illustrative examples and counterexamples are provided.

LiMn_2O_4/CNTs and LiNi_(0.5)Mn_(1.5)O_4/CNTs Nanocomposites as High-Performance Cathode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries

The demand of higher energy density and higher power capacity of lithium（Li）-ion secondary batteries has led to the search for electrode materials whose capacities and performance are better than those available today. Carbon nanotubes（CNTs）, with their unique properties such as 1D tubular structure, high electrical and thermal conductivities, and extremely large surface area, have been used as materials to prepare cathodes for Li-ion batteries. The structure and morphology of CNTs were analyzed by X-ray diffraction（XRD）, scanning electron microscopy（SEM）, and transmission electron microscopy（TEM）. The functional groups on the purified CNT surface such as –COOH, –OH were characterized by Fourier Transform infrared spectroscopy. The electrode materials were fabricated from LiMn2O4（LMO）, doped spinel LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4, and purified CNTs via solid-state reaction. The structure and morphology of the electrode were characterized using XRD, SEM, and TEM. Finally, the efficiency of the electrode materials using CNTs was evaluated by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy.

Background Genome wide association study identified hedgehog interacting protein gene(HHIP)variants with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and *** of HHIP,a key regulator of the hedgehog signaling pathway,leads to impaired lung morphogenesis and lethality in animal models,through unimpeded sonic hedgehog expression blocking mesenchymal-expressed fibroblast growth factor 10(FGF10).Since bronchopulmonary dysplasia(BPD)is also associated with altered lung development and worsens with stimuli including mechanical ventilation,reactive oxygen species,and inflammation,HHIP and FGF10 may be candidate *** This was an observational,cohort study including extremely low birth weight infants that who developed BPD and those who did *** was isolated from buccal swabs and subjected to allelic discrimination,using specific HHIP and FGF10 *** levels were measured in tracheal ***'s t test,Chi-square,Z test and logistic regression were *** Demographic characteristics did not differ except that birth weight(715±153 vs.835±132 g)and gestational age(25 vs.26 weeks)were less in babies with *** variant rs 13147758(GG genotype)was found to be independently protective for BPD(odds ratio 0.35,95%confidence interval 0.15-0.82,P=-0.02).Early airway HHIP protein levels were increased in infants with BPD compared to those without[median(interquartile range)130.6(55.6-297.0)and 41.2(22.1-145.6)pg/mL,respectively;P=0.05].The FGF10 single nucleotide polymorphisms were not associated with *** HHIP,as a regulator of lung bud formation,affects BPD susceptibility,and may be valuable in understanding the specific mechanisms for this disease as well as for identifying therapeutic targets in the era of personalized medicine.

A novel approach for synthesis of hierarchical mesoporous Nd2O3 nanomaterials

A novel route to the fabrication of hierarchical mesoporous Nd_2O_3 nanostructures including nanospheres and nanoporous network was described. Their structure and morphology evolution of the as-synthesized materials were determined by various techniques such as scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, high-resolution transmission electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, Fourier transforminfrared spectra, nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherm, and a formation mechanism was proposed. The results revealed that the Nd_2O_3 nanospheres had the diameter of 300 nm, which were composed of small primary nanoparticles（NPs） with the size of 10 nm. The nanoporous structure also formed the NPs of ca. 10 nm which were connected with each other to form a three-dimensional（3D） texture. This simple and mild approach to fabricate hierarchical mesoporous Nd_2O_3 nanostructures could be easily scaled up and potentially extended to synthesize other oxide hierarchical structures.

Development and bioequivalence study of potassium chloride extended release tablets

The purposes of this study are to prepare the generic extended release tablet of potassiumchloride(PC) 600 mg and to compare the absorption of potassium ion from the experimen-tal tablets to that of Kaleorid? LP 600 mg(leo Pharmaceutical Products, Denmark). Car-nauba wax was used as retardant in the matrix core tablets. The core tablets were coatedwith blends of ethyl cellulose(EC) and hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose(HPMC) to modulatethe drug release. Results of a selective two-level, three-factor experiment design revealedthat a blend of 41.75% of EC and 58.25% of HPMC at 4.5% weight gained could produce thecoated tablets having dissolution profiles similar to those of Kaleorid?. A two-treatment,two-period, two-sequence crossover bioequivalence study was carried out on 24 healthyvolunteers to compare the absorption of potassium ion from experimental tablets to thatfrom Kaleorid?. The potassium ion in the urine was measured by a selective electrode of theADVIA 1650 system(Bayer) and used to calculate cumulative urinary excretion and urinaryexcretion rate. Results of 90 percent confidence interval analysis showed that the limits fornatural log-transformed cumulative urinary potassium excretion(Ln Ae 0-24) of test productwere in the range of 3.73–3.79 mEq, corresponding to 99.08%–100.92% of Kaleorid ?, respec-tively, and the limits for natural log-transformed maximal potassium excretion rate( R max) oftest product were in the range of 1.72–1.82 mEq/h, corresponding to 97.34%–102.66% of refer-ence product, respectively. Both of them fell within the bioequivalence interval(80%–125%)of reference product, proving that experimental product is bioequivalent to Kaleorid ?.

On Mixed Multiplicities of Good Filtrations

This paper interprets mixed multiplicities of good filtrations as Hilbert-Samuel multiplicities, and shows that （ε1,..., εm）-superficial sequences in [16] （2007） and superficial sequences in [15] （1973） are weak-（FC）-sequences in [19] （2000）. As consequences, we not only obtain generalized results for mixed multiplicities of ideals in [15, 16, 19] but also get an improvement of [19, Theorem 3.4] that seems to account well for the essence of [16, Theorem 1.4].

This paper presents a Game-theoretic optimization via Parallel Min-Max Ant System(PMMAS)algorithm is used in practice to determine the Nash equilibrium value to resolve the confusion in choosing appropriate bidders of multi-round procurement problem in software project *** this end,we introduce an approach that proposes:(i)A Game-theoretic model of multiround procurement problem(ii)A Nash equilibrium strategy corresponds to multi-round strategy bid(iii)An application of PSO for the determination of global Nash *** balance point in Nash Equilibrium can help to maintain a sustainable structure not only in terms of project management but also in terms of future *** an alternative of procuring entities subjectively,a methodology to support decision making has been studied using Nash equilibrium to create a balance point on benefit in procurement where buyers and suppliers need multiple rounds of *** goal focus on the balance point in Nash Equilibrium to optimizing bidder selection in multi-round procurement which is the most beneficial for both investors and selected *** PMMAS algorithm is implemented based on MPI(message passing interface)to find the approximate optimal solution for the question of how to choose bidders and ensure a path for a win-win relationship of all participants in the procurement *** also evaluate the speedup ratio and parallel efficiency between our algorithm and other proposed *** the experiment results,the high feasibility and effectiveness of the PMMAS algorithm are verified.

With the rapid growth of the autonomous system,deep learning has become integral parts to enumerate applications especially in the case of healthcare *** body vertebrae are the longest and complex parts of the human *** are numerous kinds of conditions such as scoliosis,vertebra degeneration,and vertebrate disc spacing that are related to the human body vertebrae or spine or *** detection of these problems is very important otherwise patients will suffer from a disease for a *** this proposed system,we developed an autonomous system that detects lumbar implants and diagnoses scoliosis from the modified Vietnamese x-ray *** applied two different approaches including pre-trained APIs and transfer learning with their pre-trained models due to the unavailability of sufficient x-ray medical *** results show that transfer learning is suitable for the modified Vietnamese x-ray imaging data as compared to the pre-trained API ***,we also explored and analyzed four transfer learning models and two pre-trained API models with our datasets in terms of accuracy,sensitivity,and specificity.
