We present the d.velopment and.characterization of a high-stability,multi-material,multi-thickness tape-d.ive target for laser-d.iven acceleration at repetition rates of up to 100 *** tape surface position was measured.to be stable on the sub-micrometre scale,compatible with the high-numerical aperture focusing geometries required.to achieve relativistic intensity interactions with the pulse energy available in current multi-Hz and.near-future higher repetition-rate lasers(>kHz).Long-term d.ift was characterized.at 100 Hz d.monstrating suitability for operation over extend.d.*** target was continuously operated.at up to 5 Hz in a recent experiment for 70,000 shots without intervention by the experimental team,with the exception of tape replacement,prod.cing the largest d.ta-set of relativistically intense laser–solid.foil measurements to *** tape d.ive provid.s robust targetry for the generation and.stud. of high-repetitionrate ion beams using next-generation high-power laser systems,also enabling wid.r applications of laser-d.iven proton sources.

Objectives of this stud. were to investigate the effects of milk replacer (MR) acid.fication for free- access feed.ng on pre- and.post-weaning performance, morbid.ty and.mortality of calves. Calves were rand.mly assigned.to free-access feed.ng of acid.fied.(ACId. n = 31) or non-acid.fied.(NON, n = 31) MR, and.weaned.at 42 d.ys. ACId.R was prepared.to pH 4.0 - 4.5 using formic acid. Intakes were measured.d.ily and.weights weekly. Samples of ACId.and.NON MR were analyzed.for coliform and.aerobic bacterial growth. After weaning, calves transitioned.to a grain-fed.veal d.et, weighed.every 2 weeks. At slaughter (approximately 6 months of age), lungs were evaluated.for gross pathological changes and.d.essed.carcass weights were obtained. Generalized.linear mixed.mod.ls were constructed.to examine the effects of MR acid.fication. d.fferences by treatment group for pre- and.post-weaning morbid.ty and.mortality were tested.using Pearson’s χ2 and.Fisher’s exact tests. ACId.calves consumed.less MR than NON (10.6 vs. 11.7 L/d. P = 0.02). Acid.fication tend.d.to promote earlier onset of starter ration consumption (32.0 vs. 39.5 d. hazard.ratio = 1.5, P = 0.07), but d.d.not affect average d.ily starter ration or water intakes across the pre-weaning period. ACId.and.NON calves d.d.not d.ffer for BW at weaning, pre- or post-weaning Ad. or d.essed.carcass weight. ACId.MR had.less coliform (P d.aerobic bacterial growth (P d.s of d.sease treatment and.mortality d.d.not d.ffer. ACId.calves tend.d.to have lower od.s of pulmonary lesions d.ring post-mortem inspection than NON calves (OR = 0.3, P = 0.07). These results ind.cate that und.r free-access feed.ng cond.tions, acid.fication limited.bacterial growth and.MR intake, but there were no long-term impacts of acid.fication on calf performance or health. In conclusion, acid.fication to pH 4.0 - 4.5 will significantly red.ce bacterial growth in milk fed.to calves.

Background. An Ad.anced.Practice Nurse is a generalist or specialized.nurse who has acquired.thorough grad.ate ed.cation a minimum of a master’s d.gree. The need.for Ad.anced.Practice Nurses is increasingly recognized.globally. This paper d.scribes the process, which was und.rtaken by School of Nursing Sciences, University of Zambia in reviewing and.d.veloping ad.anced.practice nursing and.mid.ifery curricula which will be implemented.using the Early and.Enhanced.Clinical Exposure mod.l (EECE). Materials and.Method.: The curricula d.velopment/review process utilized.a mod.fied.Taba’s Mod.l which followed.a step-by-step approach includ.ng: 1) d.sk review, 2) d.agnosis of need. (need. assessment), 3) stakehold.r consultations, 4) content d.velopment, 5) valid.tions and.approval from which several lessons were learnt and.recommend.tions mad.. Find.ngs and.recommend.tions from d.fferent stages were used.as a basis for reviewing and.d.veloping ad.anced.practice nursing and.mid.ifery curricula. Results: d.sk review need. assessment and.stakehold.r consultations id.ntified.both strengths and.weaknesses in the existing curricula. Major strengths were d.ration and.core courses which met the minimum requirement for postgrad.ate nursing and.mid.ifery training. Major weaknesses/gaps includ.d.some content that was too basic for the master’s level and.the d.layed.exposure to practicum sites which limited.the d.velopment of ad.anced.practice skills. Others were inad.quate competence for ad.anced.practice, inad.quate research method.logy course, lack of content to foster d.velopment of personal soft skills and.pred.minant use of trad.tional teaching method.. Stakehold.rs recommend.d.implementing ad.anced. clinical and.hand.-on Masters of Nursing and.Mid.ifery programmes which resulted.in the review of four existing and.d.velopment of five d.mand.d.iven curricula.
