In this research, a highly conductive graphene film was synthesized through the chemical reduction of graphene oxide (RGO) nanosheets followed by thermal treatment at 1100℃ (RGO-1100℃) under H2 ambient. The as-prepared graphene films were characterized by using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffractions, raman spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy and by electrical conductivity measurements. The results showed that the thermal treatment efficiently removed residual oxygen-containing functional groups on the surface of the RGO sheets and simultaneously restored the sp2 carbon networks in the graphene sheets. As a result, the electrical conductivity of RGO-1100℃ (~210 S/cm) film was greatly improved compared with that of RGO (~24 S/cm) and graphene oxide (4.2 × 10–4 S/m) films. In addition, the NO2 gas sensing characteristics of the as-prepared RGO films were studied. The results indicated that RGO films were highly responsive to NO2 at temperature of 200℃.

BACKGROUND:This study aimed to evaluate the discriminatory performance of 11 vital sign-based early warning scores(EWSs)and three shock indices in early sepsis prediction in the emergency department(ED).METHODS:We performed a retrospective study on consecutive adult patients with an infection over 3 months in a public ED in Hong *** primary outcome was sepsis(Sepsis-3 definition)within 48 h of ED *** c-statistics and the DeLong test,we compared 11 EWSs,including the National Early Warning Score 2(NEWS2),Modified Early Warning Score,and Worthing Physiological Scoring System(WPS),etc.,and three shock indices(the shock index[SI],modified shock index[MSI],and diastolic shock index[DSI]),with Systemic Inflammatory Response Syndrome(SIRS)and quick Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(qSOFA)in predicting the primary outcome,intensive care unit admission,and mortality at different time ***:We analyzed 601 patients,of whom 166(27.6%)developed ***2 had the highest point estimate(area under the receiver operating characteristic curve[AUROC]0.75,95%CI 0.70-0.79)and was significantly better than SIRS,qSOFA,other EWSs and shock indices,except WPS,at predicting the primary ***,the pooled sensitivity and specificity of NEWS2≥5 for the prediction of sepsis were 0.45(95%CI 0.37-0.52)and 0.88(95%CI 0.85-0.91),*** discriminatory performance of all EWSs and shock indices declined when used to predict mortality at a more remote time ***:NEWS2 compared favorably with other EWSs and shock indices in early sepsis prediction but its low sensitivity at the usual cut-off point requires further modification for sepsis screening.

Linking meteorology and air pollutants is a key *** study investigated meteorological effects on PM_(2.5)concentration using the advanced convergent cross mapping method,utilizing hourly PM_(2.5)concentration and six meteorological factors across eight provinces and cities in *** demonstrated that temperature(ρ=0.30)and radiation(ρ=0.30)produced the highest effects,followed by humidity(ρ=0.28)and wind speed(ρ=0.24),while pressure(ρ=0.22)and wind direction(ρ=0.17)produced the weakest effects on PM_(2.5)*** theρvalues showed that temperature,wind speed,and wind direction had greater impacts on PM_(2.5)concentration during the dry season whereas radiation had a more influence during the wet season;Southern stations experienced larger meteorological ***,humidity,pressure,and wind direction had both positive and negative influences on PM_(2.5)concentration,while radiation and wind speed mostly had negative *** PM_(2.5)pollution episodes,there wasmore contribution ofmeteorological effects on PM_(2.5)concentration indicated byρ*** contaminated levels,humidity(ρ=0.45)was the most dominant factor affecting PM_(2.5)concentration,followed by temperature(ρ=0.41)and radiation(ρ=0.40).Pollution episodes were pointed out to be more prevalent under higher humidity,higher pressure,lower temperature,lower radiation,and lower wind ***ρcalculation also revealed that lower temperature,lower radiation,and higher humidity greatly accelerated each other under pollution episodes,further enhancing PM_(2.5)*** findings contributed to the literature on meteorology and air pollution interaction.

Environmental pollution,such as water contamination,is a critical issue that must be absolutely ***,three different morphologies of tungsten-based photocatalysts(WO_(3)nanorods,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanobricks,WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods)are made using a simple hydrothermal method by changing the solvents(H_(2)O,DMF,aqueous HCl solution).The as-prepared nanocatalysts have excellent thermal stability,large porosity,and high *** results show all materials have good photocatalytic activity in aqueous media,with WO_(3)/WS_(2)nanorods(NRs)having the best activity in the photodegradation of bisphenol A(BPA)under visible-light *** may originate from increased migration of charge carriers and effective prevention of electron–hole recombination in WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs,whereby this photocatalyst is able to generate more reactive·OH and·O_(2)^(–)species,leading to greater photocatalytic *** 99.6% of BPA is photodegraded within 60 min when using 1.5 g/L WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs and 5.0 mg/L BPA at pH ***,the optimal conditions(pH,catalyst dosage,initial BPA concentration)for WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs are also elaborately *** rod-like heterostructures are expressed as potential catalysts with excellent photostability,efficient reusability,and highly active effectivity in different types of *** particular,the removal efficiency of BPA by WO_(3)/WS_(2)NRs reduces by only 1.5% after five recycling runs and even reaches 89.1%in contaminated lake *** study provides promising insights for the nearly complete removal of BPA from wastewater or different water resources,which is advantageous to various applications in environmental remediation.

Sustaining agricultural production under adverse environ- mental conditions, such as drought and high salinity, rep- resents a major challenge. The discovery of key genes and signal transduction pathways underlying plant responses to environmental stress will play an important role in devel- oping strategies for the genetic improvement of crops to address this challenge. Crop functional genomics has greatly contributed to the identification of abiotic stress-related genes. Current advances in genomic technologies now pro- vide effective and high-throughput methods for identifying stress-related genes at a genome-wide level, especially with the availability of the complete genomic sequence of several model and crop plant species. The development of genetic database resources has allowed bioinformatic approaches to identify stress-tolerant gene families across species based on homology and synteny. Additionally, genome-wide associa- tion studies （GWAS） for complex trait loci in crops have facili- tated the discovery of critical stress-related genes and their favorable alleles.

Plants as sessile organisms are continuously exposed to abiotic stress conditions that impose numerous detrimental effects and cause tremendous loss of yield. Abiotic stresses, including high sunlight, confer serious damage on the photosynthetic machinery of plants. Photosystem II （PSII） is one of the most susceptible components of the photosynthetic machinery that bears the brunt of abiotic stress. In addition to the generation of reactive oxygen species （ROS） by abiotic stress, ROS can also result from the absorption of excessive sunlight by the light-harvesting complex. ROS can damage the photosynthetic apparatus, particularly PSII, resulting in photoinhibition due to an imbalance in the photosynthetic redox signaling pathways and the inhibition of PSII repair. Designing plants with improved abiotic stress tolerance will require a comprehensive understanding of ROS signaling and the regulatory functions of various components, including protein kinases, transcription factors, and phytohormones, in the responses of photosynthetic machinery to abiotic stress. Bioenergetics approaches, such as chlorophyll a transient kinetics analysis, have facilitated our understanding of plant vitality and the assessment of PSII efficiency under adverse environmental conditions. This review discusses the current understanding and indicates potential areas of further studies on the regulation of the photosynthetic machinery under abiotic stress.

Sweet potato(Ipomoea batatas[L.]lam.)is a crucial staple and bioenergy *** abiotic stress tolerance holds significant importance in fully utilizing marginal *** processes regulate abiotic stress responses,yet the molecular regulatory mechanisms in sweet potato remain *** this study,a NAC(NAM,ATAF1/2,and CUC2)transcription factor,IbNAC087,was identified,which is commonly upregulated in salt-and drought-tolerant *** of IbNAC087 increased salt and drought tolerance by increasing jasmonic acid(JA)accumulation and activating reactive oxygen species(ROS)scavenging,whereas silencing this gene resulted in opposite ***-rich IbNAC087-OE(overexpression)plants exhibited more stomatal closure than wild-type(WT)and IbNAC087-Ri plants under NaCl,polyethylene glycol,and methyl jasmonate ***087 functions as a nuclear transcriptional activator and directly activates the expression of the key JA biosynthesisrelated genes lipoxygenase(IbLOX)and allene oxide synthase(IbAOS).Moreover,IbNAC087 physically interacted with a RING-type E3 ubiquitin ligase NAC087-INTERACTING E3 LIGASE(IbNIEL),negatively regulating salt and drought tolerance in sweet *** ubiquitinated IbNAC087 to promote 26S proteasome degradation,which weakened its activation on IbLOX and *** findings provide insights into the mechanism underlying the IbNIEL-IbNAC087 module regulation of JA-dependent salt and drought response in sweet potato and provide candidate genes for improving abiotic stress tolerance in crops.
