Background: Continuous exposure to m.llim.lar (m.) Vitam.n C (AA) in vitro kills cancer cells. For superficial bladder carcinom. (SBC), standard chem.therapy is instillation of Bacillus Calm.tte-Guerin. The recurrence rate with this therapy is 91%. But high dosage vitam.ns including AA reduced the recurrence to 41%. Aim. To determ.ne the oral dosage of AA that causes the highest concentration of AA [AA] in the bladder. m.thod: We conducted a clinical trial of 14 people who took various dosages of AA, and analyzed the [AA] in their urine. Results: AA above 2 g twice a day was not absorbed. But that intake produced a bladder [AA] above 1 m. in all participants. Conclusion: Taking 2 g of AA BID will increase [AA] in the bladder to a level likely to kill cancer cells that cause SBC. Taking that dosage 2 consecutive days a week is likely to reduce the recurrence rate of SBC substantially.

Large and growing data resources on the diversity, distribution, and properties of m.nerals are ushering in a new era of data-driven discovery in m.neralogy. The m.st com.rehensive international m.neral database is the Im. database, which includes inform.tion on m.re than 5400 approved m.neral species and their properties, and the *** data source, which contains m.re than 1 m.llion species/locality data on m.nerals found at m.re than 300 000 localities. Analysis and visualization of these data with diverse techniques—including chord diagram., cluster diagram., Klee diagram., skyline diagram., and varied m.thods of network analysis—are leading to a greater understanding of the co-evolving geosphere and biosphere. New data-driven approaches include m.neral evolution, m.neral ecology, and m.neral network analysis—m.thods that collectively consider the distribution and diversity of m.nerals through space and tim.. These strategies are fostering a deeper understanding of m.neral co-occurrences and, for the first tim., facilitating predictions of m.neral species that occur on Earth but have yet to be discovered and described.

The second dissociation constant, pK2, and related therm.dynam.c quantities for TAPSO have been previously determ.ned and reported from.the tem.eratures (278.15 to 328.15) K. In the current study there are five buffer solutions without NaCl and five buffer solutions with NaCl present which yield an ionic strength (I = 0.16 m.l·kg-1) sim.lar to that of blood plasm.. These buffer solutions have been evaluated in the tem.erature range of (278.15 to 328.15) K using the extended Debye-Hückel equation, due to the lim.tations of the Bates-Guggenheim.convention such that it is only valid when I -1. The liquid junction potential (Ej) values between the TAPSO solution and the saturated KCl calom.l electrode solution have been estim.ted at (298.15 and 310.15) K using a flowing junction cell m.asurem.nt. The previously m.ntioned Ej values have been used in determ.ning the operational pH values at (298.15 and 310.15) K. These TAPSO buffer solutions are recom.ended as reference solutions for pH m.asurem.nts in saline m.dia with an ionic strength of I = 0.16 m.l·kg-1.

Electrom.tive force (em.) m.asurem.nts of the Cell Pt(s), H2(g)|ACES(m.) + NaACES(m.) + NaCl (m.)| AgCl, Ag(s) have been carried out from.5°C to 55°C . The agreem.nt of pH values between two calculated (extended Debye-Hückel and liquid junction correction) is very good. Two buffer solutions without the chloride ion and seven buffer solutions with NaCl, at an ionic strength (I = 0.16 ***-1) sim.lar to that of physiological fluids, have been studied. The pH values for these buffer solutions have been evaluated in the tem.erature range of 5°C to 55°C using the extended Debye-Hückel equation of the Bates-Guggenheim.convention. Values of the residual liquid junction potential (δEj) between the ACES solutions and the saturated KCl calom.l electrode solution have been estim.ted at 25°C and 37°C from.the previously determ.ned Ej values using the flowing junction cell to determ.ne the operational pH values at 25°C and 37°C. These ACES buffer solutions are recom.ended as secondary standard reference solutions for pH m.asurem.nts in the range of physiological applicati on at I = 0.16 ***-1.
