Health diagnosis of ultrahigh arch dam performance using heterogeneous spatial panel vector model

Currently,more than ten ultrahigh arch dams have been constructed or are being constructed in *** control is essential to long-term operation of these *** study employed the flexibility coefficient and plastic complementary energy norm to assess the structural safety of arch dams.A comprehensive analysis was conducted,focusing on differences among conventional methods in characterizing the structural behavior of the Xiaowan arch dam in ***,the spatiotemporal characteristics of the measured performance of the Xiaowan dam were explored,including periodicity,convergence,and time-effect *** findings revealed the governing mechanism of main ***,a heterogeneous spatial panel vector model was developed,considering both common factors and specific factors affecting the safety and performance of arch *** model aims to comprehensively illustrate spatial heterogeneity between the entire structure and local regions,introducing a specific effect quantity to characterize local deformation ***,the proposed model was applied to the Xiaowan arch dam,accurately quantifying the spatiotemporal heterogeneity of dam ***,the spatiotemporal distri-bution characteristics of environmental load effects on different parts of the dam were reasonably *** of the model prediction enhances its credibility,leading to the formulation of health diagnosis criteria for future long-term operation of the Xiaowan *** findings not only enhance the predictive ability and timely control of ultrahigh arch dams'performance but also provide a crucial basis for assessing the effectiveness of engineering treatment measures.

A potential reason for the failure of tumor therapies is treatment *** to chemotherapy,radiotherapy,and immunotherapy continues to be a major obstacle in clinic,resulting in tumor recurrence and *** major mechanisms of therapy resistance are inhibitions of cell deaths,like apoptosis and necrosis,through drug inactivation and excretion,repair of DNA damage,tumor heterogeneity,or changes in tumor microenvironment,*** studies have shown that ferroptosis play a major role in therapies resistance by inducing phospholipid peroxidation and iron-dependent cell *** ferroptosis inducers in combination with clinical treatment techniques have been used to enhance the effect in tumor ***,versatile ferroptosis nanoinducers exhibit an extensive range of functions in reversing therapy resistance,including directly triggering ferroptosis and feedback ***,we provide a detailed description of the design,mechanism,and therapeutic application of ferroptosis-mediated synergistic tumor *** also discuss the prospect and challenge of nanomedicine in tumor therapy resistance by regulating ferroptosis and combination therapy.

Prospects of the Multi-channel Photometric Survey Telescope in the Cosmological Application of Type Ia Supernovae

The Multi-channel Photometric Survey Telescope(Mephisto)is a real-time,three-color photometric system designed to capture the color evolution of stars and transients *** telescope system can be crucial in cosmological distance measurements of low-redshift(low-z,z■0.1)Type Ia supernovae(SNe Ia).To optimize the capabilities of this instrument,we perform a comprehensive simulation study before its official operation is scheduled to *** considering the impact of atmospheric extinction,weather conditions,and the lunar phase at the observing site involving the instrumental features,we simulate light curves of SNe Ia obtained by *** best strategy in the case of SN Ia cosmology is to take the image at an exposure time of 130 s with a cadence of 3 *** this condition,Mephisto can obtain hundreds of high-quality SNe Ia to achieve a distance measurement better than 4.5%.Given the on-time spectral classification and monitoring of the Lijiang 2.4 m Telescope at the same observatory,Mephisto,in the whole operation,can significantly enrich the well-calibrated sample of supernovae at low-z and improve the calibration accuracy of high-z SNe Ia.

A high percentage of the world's population lives in areas where air pollutant concentrations exceed the World Health Organization *** work aims to develop and test,a high-resolution multi-scale air pollution modelling system by integrating a set of adequate *** system is able to provide detailed air pollutant concentrations in urban areas and support air quality management strategies through a better identification of different atmospheric *** also allows furthering the design and assessment of air pollution control measures for a specific *** evaluate its performance and suitability,the system was applied to the Macao Special Administrative region(SAr),China,one of the most densely populated areas on earth,during a winter period when this area is affected by high levels of Particulate Matter(PM).Although the developed system tends to underestimate the PM concentrations,it revealed a good performance in reproducing the temporal and spatial air pollution *** exceedances of the Chinese air quality standards were calculated and high population exposure to PM pollution was *** tested urban atmospheric emission reduction scenarios have shown air quality improvements,indicating that emission reduction measures at urban level should focus on the domestic ***,it is crucial to implement joint pollution prevention strategies with neighbouring regions to improve the air quality in Macao *** approach developed in this work can support policymakers in defining new strategies to reduce atmospheric pollution in urban areas.

A comparative study on characteristics of retracted publications across different open access levels

Purpose:recently,global science has shown an increasing open trend,however,the characteristics of research integrity of open access(OA)publications have rarely been *** aim of this study is to compare the characteristics of retracted articles across different OA levels and discover whether OA level influences the characteristics of retracted ***/methodology/approach:The research conducted an analysis of 6,005 retracted publications between 2001 and 2020 from the Web of Science and retraction Watch *** publications were categorized based on their OA levels,including Gold OA,Green OA,and *** study explored retraction rates,time lags and reasons within these ***:The findings of this research revealed distinct patterns in retraction rates among different OA *** with Gold OA demonstrated the highest retraction rate,followed by Green OA and non-OA.A comparison of retraction reasons between Gold OA and non-OA categories indicated similar proportions,while Green OA exhibited a higher proportion due to falsification and manipulation issues,along with a lower occurrence of plagiarism and authorship *** retraction time lag was shortest for Gold OA,followed by non-OA,and longest for Green *** prolonged retraction time for Green OA could be attributed to an atypical distribution of retraction reasons.A comparative study on characteristics of retracted publications across different open access levels research limitations:There is no exploration of a wider range of OA levels,such as Hybrid OA and Bronze *** implications:The outcomes of this study suggest the need for increased attention to research integrity within the OA *** occurrences offalsification,manipulation,and ethical concerns within Green OA publications warrant attention from the scientific ***/value:This study contributes to the understanding of research integrity in the realm of OA publications,she

Generation of lossy mode resonances(LMr)using perovskite nanofilms

The results presented here show for the first time the experimental demonstration of the fabrication of lossy mode resonance(LMr) devices based on perovskite coatings deposited on planar waveguides. Perovskite thin films have been obtained by means of the spin coating technique and their presence was confirmed by ellipsometry, scanning electron microscopy, and X-ray diffraction testing. The LMrs can be generated in a wide wavelength range and the experimental results agree with the theoretical simulations. Overall, this study highlights the potential of perovskite thin films for the development of novel LMr-based devices that can be used for environmental monitoring, industrial sensing, and gas detection, among other applications.

The Baveno VII criteria redefine the management of decompensated liver cirrhosis,introducing the concept of hepatic recompensation marking a significant departure from the conventional view of irreversible *** to this concept is addressing the underlying cause of cirrhosis through tailored therapies,including antivirals and lifestyle *** on alcohol,hepatitis C virus,and hepatitis B virus-related cirrhosis demonstrate the efficacy of these interventions in improving liver function and patient *** intrahepatic portosystemic shunt(TIPS)emerges as a promising intervention,effectively resolving complications of portal hypertension and facilitating ***,optimal timing and patient selection for TIPS remain *** challenges,TIPS offers renewed hope for hepatic recompensation,marking a significant advancement in cirrhosis *** research is needed to refine its implementation and maximize its *** conclusion,TIPS stands as a promising avenue for improving hepatic function and patient outcomes in decompensated liver cirrhosis within the framework of the Baveno VII criteria.

BACKGrOUND:This study aimed to review bicycle-related injuries during the COVID-19 pandemic to assist with reinforcement or implementation of new policies for injury ***:This is a retrospective descriptive analysis of injuries sustained during cycling for patients 18 years old and above who presented to Singapore General Hospital from January to June *** records were reviewed and *** analyses were used to summarize patient characteristics,and differences in characteristics subgrouped by triage acuity and discharge status were ***:The study included 272 patients with a mean age of 43 years and a male predominance(71.7%).Most presented without referrals(88.2%)and were not conveyed by ambulances(70.6%).Based on acuity category,there were 24(8.8%)Priority 1(P1)patients with 7 trauma activations,174(64.0%)and 74(27.2%)P2 and P3 patients *** most common injuries were fractures(34.2%),followed by superficial abrasion/contusion(29.4%)and laceration/wound(19.1%).Thirteen(4.8%)patients experienced head injury and 85 patients(31.3%)were documented to be wearing a *** majority occurred on the roads as traffic accidents(32.7%).Forty-two patients(15.4%)were admitted with a mean length of stay of 4.1 d and 17(6.3%)undergone surgical *** of 214(78.7%)discharged patients,no re-attendances or mortality were *** the subgroup analysis,higher acuity patients were generally older,with higher proportions of head injuries leading to ***:Our study highlights significant morbidities in bicycle-related *** is also a high proportion of fractures in the young healthy male *** prevention is paramount and we propose emphasizing helmet use and road user safety.

Investigation of Microstructure, Microhardness and Thermal Properties of Ag-In Intermetallic Alloys Prepared by Vacuum Arc Meltings

Ag-In intermetallic alloys were produced by using vacuum arc furnace. Differential Scanning Calorimetry(DSC) and Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry(EDX) were used to determine the thermal properties and chemical composition of the phases respectively. Microhardness values of Ag-In intermetallics were calculated with Vickers hardness measurement method. According to the experimental results, Ag-34 wt%In intermetallic system generated the best results of energy saving and storage compared to other intermetallic systems. Also from the microhardness results, it was observed that intermetallic alloys were harder than pure silver and Ag-26 wt%In system had the highest microhardness value with 143.45 kg/mm^(2).
