Dexamethasone (Dex), a ligand for transcriptional enhancement of tyrosine aminotransferase (TAT) and tryptophan 2,3-dioxygenase (TO) genes, (100 nM) maximally increased these mRNA levels at 12 h and 7 h in primary cultured rat hepatocytes and the nuclear fraction, respectively. Lactacystin (5 μM) and epoxomicin (0.5 μM), 26S proteasome inhibitors, significantly suppressed the Dex-dependent maximum increase of TAT and TO mRNA levels in the cells and the nuclear fraction. Electrophoretic mobility shift assay demonstrated that lactacystin did not affect binding of glucocorticoid receptor to glucocorticoid responsive element. Furthermore, lactacystin did not affect the activation of GRE luciferase reporter by Dex transfected to the cells. The results demonstrate that 26S proteasome is positively involved in the Dex-dependent increase of TAT and TO mRNA levels in the cells and suggest that the mechanism of action of 26S proteasome may be degradation of some RNase(s), which breaks down TAT and TO mRNAs.

The decomposition and precipitation behaviors of a quenched Cu-15wt%Sn alloy as a function of aging temperature were investigated using transmission electron microscopy （TEM）. Focused ion beam （FIB） was employed to assist TEM specimen preparation. At 300 ℃, the decomposition of the supersaturated phase occurred at grain boundaries, displaying a cellular morphology. The lamellae were found with and phases, rather than with the equilibrium e and phases. The and phases exhibit a welldefined orientation relationship （OR） as On the other hand, at 320 ℃, only incipient lamellar structures of several micron meters were observed, which were composed of the 6 and phases. At the same time, abundant intragranular precipitation of the e phase in the form of platelets was observed, and OR as （lil）J/ （001）, [110] J/[100] exists between e phase and the ct phase. These contrasting precipitation behaviors are discussed from the viewpoint of crystallographic coherency of these phases.

Ghrelin causes interdigestive contractions of the stom- ach in rats. However, it remains unknown whether ghrelin causes interdigestive contractions in the small intestine. Four strain gauge transducers were implanted on the antrum, duodenum, proximal and distal jejunum. After an overnight fast, gastrointestinal （GI） contrac- tions were recorded in freely moving conscious rats. Spontaneous phase m-like contractions were observed at every 13-16 min in rat GI tract. The fasted motor patterns were replaced by the fed motor pattern imme- diately after food intake. Two minutes after finishing the spontaneous phase Ill-like contractions in the antrum, acyl ghrelin （0.8, 2.4 and 8.0 μg/kg per min） was con- tinuously infused for 30 min. Three-five minutes after the starting ghrelin infusion, augmented phase Ⅲ-like contractions were observed at the antrum, duodenum, and jejunum. Ghrelin infusion （0.8, 2.4 and 8.0μg/kg per min） significantly increased motility index of phase Ⅲ-like contractions at the antrum and jejunum in a dose dependent manner, compared to that of saline in- jection. Thus, it is likely that exogenously administered ghrelin causes phase Ⅲ-like contraction at the antrum, which migrates to the duodenum and jejunum. The possible role of 5-HT, in addition to ghrelin, in mediating intestinal migrating motor complex （MMC）, is discussed.

Holographic augmented reality display with conical holographic optical element for wide viewing zone

In this study, we propose a holographic augmented reality (AR) display with a wide viewing zone realized by using a special-designed reflective optical element. A conical holographic optical element (HOE) is used as such a reflective optical element. This conical HOE was implemented to reconstruct a diverging spherical wave with a wide spread angle. It has a sharp wavelength selectivity by recording it as a volume hologram, enabling augmented reality (AR) representation of real and virtual 3D objects. The quality of the generated spherical wave and the spectral reflectivity of the fabricated conical HOE were investigated. An optical superimposition between real and virtual 3D objects was demonstrated, thereby enhancing the validity of our proposed method. A horizontal viewing zone of 140° and a vertical viewing zone of 30° were experimentally confirmed. The fabrication procedure for the conical HOE is presented, and the calculation method of the computer-generated hologram (CGH) based on Fermat’s principle is explained in detail.

This paper describes multi view modeling and data model transformation for the modeling. We have proposed a reference model of CAD system generation, which can be applied to various domain specific languages. However, the current CAD system generation cannot integrate data of multiple domains. Generally each domain has its own view of products. For example, in the domain of architectural structure, designers extract the necessary data from the data in architecture design. Domain experts translate one view into another view beyond domains using their own *** multi view modeling is a way to integrate product data of multiple domains, and make it possible to translate views among various domains by computers.

KITCHEN CHEMISTRY TO FOREFRONT MOLECULAR SCIENCE The Langmuir−Blodgett(LB)method is an old technique with a more than 100-year *** principle is simply based on spreading of a thin film(mostly monolayer)of waterless soluble molecules on water,which is similar to daily life common events such as oil dropping on *** is said that the initial research on the relation between surface tension(as parameter related with surface pressure)and monolayer compression was pioneered by a self-taught German women scientist Agnes Pockels using a handmade trough in her family kitchen.1 After systematic research efforts on monolayers at the air−water interface by Irving Langmuir,2 formation of multilayer films through simple transfer of monolaters from a water surface to a solid surface was demonstrated with the aid of Katherine Blodgett to initiate the Langmuir−Blodgett(LB)technique.3 Although sophisticated film balances have been developed and a huge variety of components has been subjected to the LB method,the fundamental principles with simple procedures remain unchanged over 100 years.

AIM： To report 13 patients with benign esophagea stenosis treated with the biodegradable stent. METHODS： We developed a Ultraflex-type stent by knitting poly-/-lactic acid rnonofilaments. RESULTS： Two cases were esophageal stenosis caused by drinking of caustic liquid, 4 cases were due to surgical resection of esophageal cancers, and 7 cases were patients with esophageal cancer who received the preventive placement of biodegradable stents for postendoscopic mucosal dissection （ESD） stenosis. The preventive placement was performed within 2 to 3 d after ESD. In 10 of the 13 cases, spontaneous migration of the stents occurred between 10 to 21 d after placement. In these cases, the migrated stents were excreted with the feces, and no obstructive complications were experienced. In 3 cases, the stents remained at the proper location on d 21 after placement. No symptoms of re-stenosis were observed within the follow-up period of 7 mo to 2 years. Further treatment with balloon dilatation or replacement of the biodegradable stent was not required. CONCLUSION： Biodegradable stents were useful for the treatment of benign esophageal stenosis, particularly for the prevention of post-ESD stenosis.

Chiral 1,1’-binaphthyl-linked diporphyrin‘tweezers’(R)-1/(S)-1 and the corresponding zinc(II)complexes(R)-2/(S)-2 were prepared as chiral host molecules,and their utility for chiral analyses(especially enantiomeric excess(ee)determinations)were ***(1-n-dodecyl)porphyrins were used for the first time as the interacting *** capabilities of the diporphyrin tweezers were investigated by titrations with(R,R)-and(S,S)-cyclohexane-1,2-diamine(CHDA).The host molecules could be used as multichannel probes of ee by using UVvis,circular dichroism(CD),fluorescence emission and 1H nuclear magnetic resonance(1 H-NMR)*** configurations could also be differentiated using CD or 1HNMR *** three optical techniques give good resolution of ee with reasonable sensitivity considering the low concentrations used(ca.10^-6 mol·L^-1).The ee determination of CHDA enantiomers using NMR spectroscopy is also possible because of the reasonably well separated resonances in the case of(R,R)-and(S,S)-***-metallated(R)-1/(S)-1 hosts could not be used to detect chiral information in a strongly acidic chiral *** work demonstrates the utility of 1,1’-binapthyllinked chiral hosts for chiral analysis of ditopically interacting enantiomers.
