Since first establishing thermal measurement techniques for micrometer-scale wires,various methods have been devised and improved ***,the uncertainty of different measurements on the same sample has not yet been *** this work,a round robin test was performed to compare the thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity measurement methods for a fine metal *** tested material was a pure gold wire,with a diameter of 30μ*** wire was cut into certain lengths and distributed to four institutions using five different measurement methods:the direct current(DC)self-heating method,the DC heating T-type method,the 3ωmethod for thermal conductivity,the scanning laser heating alternating current(AC)method,and the spot periodic heating radiation thermometry method for thermal *** completing the measurements,the reported thermal conductivity and thermal diffusivity at room temperature,i.e.,317 W·m^(-1)·K^(-1)and 128×10^(-6)m^(2)·s^(-1),respectively,were adopted as references for comparison with the measurement *** advantages and disadvantages of each method are described in terms of the effect of electrical and thermal junctions fabricated on a wire,such as an electrode,a thermocouple,and a heat *** knowledge obtained from the tested methods will be useful for selecting and designing a measurement technique for various wire-like materials.

The large-scale disruptions to physical activity during the coronavirus pandemic have been found to be a leading predictor of common mental *** addition,regular physical exercise has been found to alleviate anxiety,sadness and depression during the *** findings,together with numerous studies published before the pandemic on the effects of physical activity on mental health,should be considered in the provision of mental health care following the ***-sectional research has revealed that all types of exercise and sport are associated with a reduced mental health ***,the effectiveness of exercise and sport participation in sustainable mental health care as well as the causal relationship between exercise,psychosocial health and common mental disorders merit further *** activity and sport,with their global accessibility,significant and clinically meaningful efficacy as well as virtual absence of adverse effects,offer a promising option for the promotion of mental health,including the prevention and treatment of common mental *** exercise and sport are likely to become valuable public mental health resources in the future.

Background Recent studies suggest potential roles of immune response in the pathophysiology of ***-seizure medications(ASMs)are known to have side effects of drug eruption caused by immune responses.A few reports in adults have demonstrated disappearance of seizures after an ASM drug eruption *** this paper,we described 2 cases of childhood absence epilepsy(CAE)who showed seizure disappearance after ethosuximide(ESM)drug eruption,suggesting the possibility that the epilepsy disappears due to immune responses to *** presentation Case 1 was an 8-year-old girl diagnosed with *** was treated with valproate acid(VPA)initially,and then ESM was administered as an additional *** epileptic seizure disappeared 4 days after initiation of ***,drug eruption appeared 1 week after the administration of *** after discontinuation of ESM administration,she maintains no seizure after the drug *** 2 was a 5-year-old boy diagnosed as *** was treated with VPA initially,and ESM was administered *** eruption appeared 1 month after the administration of *** after ESM was terminated,he maintained seizure freedom after the appearance of *** Epileptic seizures may have been suppressed due to the immune responses caused by ASM *** studies are needed to elucidate the pathophysiologic effects of drug eruption on epilepsy through immune responses.

Effects of alginate and laminaran on the microbiota and antioxidant properties of human faecal cultures

Alginate and laminaran are water soluble dietary fibres in brown *** a previous study,pure cultures of Bacteroides xylanisolvens,Bacteroides uniformis,and Erysipelaclostridium ramosum increased antioxidant capacities in the broth with alginate and/or laminaran *** study was conducted to evaluate the presence of the alginate-and laminaran-responsive human gut indigenous bacteria(RIB)and their ***,human stool samples were cultured in media without(control),or with 1%(w/v)alginate or laminaran at 37℃ for 24 h under anaerobic *** showed that during incubation,the pH of the culture reduced with the *** production was clearly suppressed via laminaran supplementation in the faecal sample *** 16S rRNA(V4)gene amplicon sequencing confirmed that ***-,*** and ***-like bacteria were alginate-and/or laminaran-RIB in human gut,although their read numbers differed among ***,some butyrate-producers,such as Faecalibacterium and Roseburia,were also detected as the RIB in alginate and laminaran cultures,*** increased 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl and superoxide anion radical-scavenging capacities and the Fe-reducing power of the culture ***,the fermented cultures increased the nitric oxide secretion in macrophage like RAW 264.7 cells *** results suggest that the interaction of alginate and laminaran with their RIB may have desirable effects on the host as next generation prebiotics when brown algae are ingested.

Temporal variation of dynamical modal properties of a base-isolated building is investigated using earthquake records in the building. A batch processing least-squares estimation method is applied to segment-wise time-series data. To construct an input-output system,an auto-regressive model with exogenous input (ARX) of second-order including a forgetting coefficient as a weighting coefficient is used for the estimation of modal parameters. The fundamental and second natural frequencies and the damping ratios of the fundamental and second natural modes of the base-isolated building are identified in the time domain. The identified results are consistent with the results obtained from the micro-tremor vibration data,forced-vibration test data and earthquake records in the present base-isolated building in the case of taking into account the amplitude-dependency of the isolators and viscous dampers. It is finally pointed out that several factors,e.g.,amplitude dependency of the isolator and damper system and special characteristics of the series-type viscous damper system,may be related complicatedly with the temporal variation in modal properties of the above-mentioned system.

In the past few years, a new technology, biotechnology, has come into practical use internationally. It is prospective that application of biotechnology in the field of food production may lead to improved food quality and productivity.　　Modern biotechnology, through the use of recombinant DNA techniques, has been used for food production for some time now. Therefore, particular attention should be paid to the safety of foods and food additives produced by recombinant DNA techniques. For this reason, Japan set out the “Guideline for Safety Assessment of Foods and Food Additives Produced by Recombinant DNA Techniques” and “Guideline for Manufacturing Foods and Food Additives Produced by Recombinant DNA Techniques,” in 1991.

Dislocation-mediated plasticity in inorganic semiconductors and oxides has attracted increasing research interest because of the promising mechanical and functional properties tuned by *** this study,we investigated the effects of light illumination on the dislocation-mediated plasticity in hexagonal wurtzite ZnO,a representative third-generation semiconductor material.A(0001)45o off sample was specially designed to preferentially activate the basal slip on(0001)*** types of nanoindentation tests were performed under four different light conditions(550 nm,334 nm,405 nm,and darkness),including low-load(60μN)pop-in tests,high-load(500μN)nanoindentation tests,and nanoindentation creep *** maximum shear stresses at pop-in were found to approximate the theoretical shear strength regardless of the light *** activation volume at pop-ins was calculated to be larger in light than in ***-sectional transmission electron microscope images taken from beneath the indentation imprints showed that all indentation-induced dislocations were located beneath the indentation imprint in a thin-plate shape along one basal slip *** indentation-induced dislocations could spread much deeper in darkness than in light,revealing the suppressive effect of light on dislocation *** analytical model was adopted to estimate the elastoplastic stress field beneath the *** was found that dislocation glide ceased at a higher stress level in light,indicating the increase in the Peierls barrier under light ***,nanoindentation creep tests showed the suppression of both indentation depth and creep rate by *** creep also yielded a larger activation volume in light than in darkness.
