Amination of biochar surface from watermelon peel for toxic chromium removal enhancement

Watermelon peel residues were used to produce a new biochar by dehydration *** new biochar has undergone two methods of chemical modification and the effect of this chemical modification on its ability to adsorb Cr(VI)ions from aqueous solution has been *** biochars,melon-B,melon-BO-NH_(2) and melon-BO-TETA,were made from watermelon peel via dehydration with 50%sulfuric acid to give melon-B followed by oxidation with ozone and amination using ammonium hydroxide to give melon-BO-NH_(2) or Triethylenetetramine(TETA)to give *** prepared biochars were characterized by BET,BJH,SEm,FT-IR,TGA,DSC and EDAX *** highest removal percentage of Cr(VI)ions was 69%for melon-B,98%for melon-BO-NH_(2) and 99%for melon-BO-TETA biochars of 100 mg·L^(−1) Cr(VI)ions initial concentration and 1.0 g·L^(−1) adsorbents *** unmodified biochar(melon-B)and modified biochars(melon-BO-NH_(2) and melon-BO-TETA)had maximum adsorption capacities(Q_(m))of 72.46,123.46,and 333.33 mg·g^(−1),*** amination of biochar reduced the pore size of modified biochar,whereas the surface area was *** obtained data of isotherm models were tested using different error function *** Freundlich,Tempkin and Langmuir isotherm models were best fitted to the experimental data of melon-B,melon-BO-NH_(2) and melon-BO-TETA,*** adsorption rate was primarily controlled by pseudo-second–order rate ***,the functional groups interactions are important for adsorption mechanisms and expected to control the adsorption *** adsorption for the melon-B,melon-BO-NH_(2) and melon-BO-TETA could be explained for acid–base interaction and hydrogen bonding interaction.

Structural, elastic and electronic properties for m_2 XC (m=Ti and Cr, X=Ga and Al) phases from ab initio calculations

The first-principles study of the structural, elastic and electronic properties of the m2XC phases depending on the type of m transition metal （m are Ti and Cr） and on X （X are Ga and A1） was reported. The calculations are performed using the pseudo-potential plane-wave approach in both the local density and generalized gradient approximations. The elastic constants are calculated using the static finite strain technique. Features such as structural and elastic parameters, Debye tem- perature, sound velocities and their pressure dependence have been investigated. In agreement with experimental and previous theoretical findings, it is found that the compressibility along a and c axis depends on the valence electron concentration （VEC）. Correlations revealing the governing role of the X and m elements on the machinability indices of the material have been examined. The electronic properties have been discussed in terms of chemical bonding showing that bonding is due to md-Cp and md-Xp hybridizations. m-C bonds are stiffer than m-X ones and A1-Ti （Cr-C） bonds are stiffer than those corresponding to Ti-C （A1-Cr）. It is shown that the stiffness of the m-X and m-C bonds increases with increasing the number of VEC.

Synthesis and Characterization of Tl-1223 Substituted by Scandium

X-ray powder diffraction, scanning electron microscopy （SEm）, energy dispersive X-ray, electrical resistivity and AC-magnetic susceptibility measurements have been performed for polycrystalline superconducting samples of type TIBa2Ca2_xSCxCU309_δ （0.0 ≤ x 〈 0.6）. The powder X-ray diffractograms indicate that the tetragonal structure of T1-1223 is not affected by Sc-substitution whereas the lattice parameters are changed. The X-ray analysis indicates that the low-contents of scandium （x） enhance the formation of T1-1223 and reduce the secondary phases. The grain-size determined by SEm decreases as x increases. The electrical resistivity measurements show suppression in the superconducting transition temperature, Tc, and an increase in both the residual resistivity and the superconducting transition width as x increases. The suppression in Tc is attributed to the hole-filling mechanism.

medical Image Compression Based on Wavelets with Particle Swarm Optimization

This paper presents a novel method utilizing wavelets with particle swarm optimization(PSO)for medical image *** method utilizes PSO to overcome the wavelets discontinuity which occurs when compressing images using *** transfers images into subband details and approximations using a modified Haar wavelet(mHW),and then applies a *** is applied for selecting a particle assigned to the threshold values for the *** positions assigned to particles values are used to represent *** particle updates its position depending on the global best position(gbest)(for all details subband)and local best position(pbest)(for a subband).The fitness value is developed to terminate PSO when the difference between two local best(pbest)successors is smaller than a prescribe *** experiments are applied on five different medical image types,i.e.,mRI,CT,and *** show that the proposed algorithm can be more preferably to compress medical images than other existing wavelets techniques from peak signal to noise ratio(PSNR)and compression ratio(CR)points of views.

The problem of predicting continuous scalar outcomes from functional predictors has received high levels of interest in recent years in many fields,especially in the food *** k-nearest neighbor(k-NN)method of Near-Infrared Reflectance(NIR)analysis is practical,relatively easy to implement,and becoming one of the most popular methods for conducting food quality based on NIR *** k-NN is often named k nearest neighbor classifier when it is used for classifying categorical variables,while it is called k-nearest neighbor regression when it is applied for predicting noncategorical *** objective of this paper is to use the functional Near-Infrared Reflectance(NIR)spectroscopy approach to predict some chemical components with some modern statistical models based on the kernel and k-Nearest Neighbour *** this paper,three NIR spectroscopy datasets are used as examples,namely Cookie dough,sugar,and tecator ***,we propose three models for this kind of data which are Functional Nonparametric Regression,Functional Robust Regression,and Functional Relative Error Regression,with both kernel and k-NN approaches to compare between *** experimental result shows the higher efficiency of k-NN predictor over the kernel *** predictive power of the k-NN method was compared with that of the kernel method,and several real data sets were used to determine the predictive power of both methods.

Supply chain 4.0 refers to the fourth industrial revolution’s supply chain management systems,which integrate the supply chain’s manufacturing operations,information technology,and telecommunication *** supply chain 4.0 aims to improve supply chains’production systems and profitability,it is subject to different operational and disruptive *** risks are a big challenge in the cycle of supply chain 4.0 for controlling the demand and supply operations to produce and deliver products across IT *** paper proposes a voting classifier to identify the operational risks in the supply chain 4.0 based on a Sine Cosine Dynamic Group(SCDG)*** and exploitation mechanisms of the basic Sine Cosine Algorithm(CSA)are adjusted and controlled by two groups of agents that can be changed dynamically during the *** and internal features were collected and analyzed from different data sources of service level agreements and transaction data from various KSA firms to validate the proposed algorithm’s efficiency.A balanced accuracy of 0.989 and a mean Square Error(mSE)of 0.0476 were achieved compared with other optimization-based classifier techniques.A one-way analysis of variance(ANOVA)and Wilcoxon rank-sum tests were performed to show the superiority of the proposed SCDG ***,the experimental results indicate the effectiveness of the proposed SCDG algorithm-based voting classifier.

Afamous psychologist or researcher,Daniel Goleman,gave a theory on the importance of Emotional Intelligence for the success of an individual’s *** Goleman quoted in the research that“The contribution of an individual’s Intelligence Quotient(IQ)is only 20%for their success,the remaining 80%is due to Emotional Intelligence(EQ)”.However,in the absence of a reliable technique for EQ evaluation,this factor of overall intelligence is ignored in most of the intelligence evaluation *** research presented an analysis based on basic statistical tools along with more sophisticated deep learning *** proposed cross intelligence evaluation uses two different aspects which are similar,i.e.,EQ and SQ to estimate EQ by using a trained model over SQ *** presented analysis ensures the resemblance between the Emotional and Social Intelligence of an *** research authenticates the results over standard statistical tools and is practically inspected by deep learning *** Emotional Intelligence Questionnaire-Short Form(TEIQue-SF)and Social IQ dataset are deployed over amulti-layered Long-Short Termmemory(m-LSTm)based deep learning model for accessing the resemblance between EQ and *** m-LSTm based trained deep learning model registered,the high positive resemblance between Emotional and Social Intelligence and concluded that the resemblance factor between these two is more than 99.84%.This much resemblance allows future researchers to calculate human emotional intelligence with the help of social *** flexibility also allows the use of Big Data available on social networks,to calculate the emotional intelligence of an individual.

A series of new dihydropyridines, butanamide, dihydropyridazines and thiourea derivatives have been prepared through the reactions of 3-aminopyridine （1） and N-（pyridin-3-yl）-3-（pyridin-3-ylimino）butanamide 3 with some electrophilic reagents, aryl diazonium salts and isothiocyanates. Elementary analysis, mS, IR, and 1H NmR spectra confirmed the identity of the products.

The possible source of uranium mineralization in felsic volcanic rocks,Eastern Desert,Egypt of the Arabian-Nubian Shield:Constraints from whole-rock geochemistry and spectrometric prospection

The present work deals with the detailed geology,mineralogy,geochemistry,and spectrometric prospection of the felsic volcanic rocks at the Eastern Desert,Egypt of the Arabian-Nubian *** volcanic rocks are an essential source for rare earth elements(REEs)and uranium occurrences in this *** are compositionally uniform with tholeiitic to calc-alkaline affinities,peraluminous and belong to the series of rhyolite with high-K *** exhibit more enrichment in high field strength elements(HFSE,***,Ta,Nd,Th,and U)and large-ion lithophile elements(LILE,*** and Rb)compared to the country rocks of the studied area,with REE ranging from 188.20 to 442.70 ppm and strong depletion in Ti,Sr,P with deep negative Eu *** felsic volcanic rocks were mostly generated from the partial melting of quartz-amphibolite facies accreted during the *** oddities of Zr-U-Th for the felsic volcanic rocks determine the involvement of crustal *** volcanic rocks are found in A-type suites of magma and represent highly fractionated rocks derived from rhyolitic magma,with insignificant interaction with continental crust in the low-pressure environment and during fractional *** volcanic rocks have higher values of radioactivity in which eU range from 0.5 to 121 ppm and eTh from 1.0 to 415.10 *** high values of eU and eTh can be ascribed to the mineralization of uranium and the presence of accessory minerals of radiogenic nature such as uranophane,uranothorite,zircon,and *** is considered as the mineral with most enriched uranium contents in the studied felsic volcanic rocks in which(UO2=87.30 wt%).Also,they are enriched with REE-bearing accessory minerals comprising allanite,titanite,and *** geological investigations of the felsic volcanic rocks in the studied areas are inappropriate to clear the feasible economic potentialities of rare earth elements and U occurrences;itemized and invaluable
