Introduction: Neonatal resuscitation is a means to restore life to a baby from the state of asphyxia. It can end in either survival or death. Survivors may develop short-term complications in the immediate postnatal period. Objective: Determine the short-term outcomes following neonatal resuscitation. Materials and Methods: A retrospective cross-sectional study was conducted for seven months running from November 2021 to June 2022 in two hospitals in Yaounde. Admission files of newborns who benefited from neonatal resuscitation at birth from the year 2019 to 2022 were included. We recorded the clinical characteristics of newborns (gestational age, gender, and birth weight), the frequency of transfers, the duration of admission, the rate and types of complications in an operating sheet The results were analysed using IBM SPSS 23.0 software and the data expressed as frequencies, percentages, and means. The threshold of significance was set at 5%. Results: A total of 245 files of newborns who benefited from neonatal resuscitation were included. The mean gestational age at delivery was 36.7 ± 3.6 weeks with a minimum and maximum of 25 weeks and 46 weeks respectively. 61.6% of newborns were born at term and were of the male sex (55.5%, sex ratio of 1.25). The average birth weight was 2748.4 ± 794.3 g (range: 800 - 5600 g) with 62.4% of newborns weighing between 2500 and 4000 g. 97.1% of the newborns were transferred to the neonatology unit with a median length of hospitalization of 5 days. The frequency of short-term complications during the study was 26.9% and hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy was the most common (97%). Newborns resuscitated for more than 5 minutes were more likely to develop a short-term complication. Conclusion: Hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy was the most frequent complication post-resuscitation and a prolonged duration of resuscitation favoured the development of short-term complications.

Objective To map and compare the right atrium in patients with Af to those with atrioventricular nodal reentrant tachycardias (AVNRT, as control group) and to investigate the anatomical and electrophysiological abnormality of the right atrium in *** The anatomy and electrophysiology of right atrium and cavotricuspid isthmus were evaluated in 20 patients with Af (16 M/4 f, mean age 55.9±10.68 years) and 26 patients with AVNRT (9 M/17 f, mean age 47.50±19.56 years) during coronary sinus pacing at 600 ms prior to ablation with electro-anatomical mapping system. Right atrial volume (RAV), the length and width of cavotricuspid isthmus (IsL, IsW), unipolar and bipolar voltage in the right atrium (UniV-RA, BiV-RA) were measured and compared between patients with Af and those with AVNRT. Results RAV, IsL, IsW, UniV-RA, and BiV-RA were 143.22±40.72 vs 104.35±21.06 ml, 39.31±8.10 vs 32.42±9.77 mm, 30.54±7.48 vs 23.15±6.61 mm, 1.96±1.24 vs 1.53±0.91 mv and 1.47±1.47 vs 1.29±1.12 mv in Af and AVNRT *** The right atrial volume is larger; both the length and width of cavotricuspid isthmus are greater. Unipolar and bipolar voltages in the right atrium are higher in Af than in AVNRT, suggesting that the enlarged right atrium, increased length and width of cavotricuspid isthmus, and concomitant atrial hypertrophy are important substrates for initiation and perpetuation of typical Af.

建筑项目一般都比较复杂,还存在许多不可预计的风险。建筑界存在着诸如在工程参与各方之间缺乏协作,相互信任度低以及沟通交流效率低等问题,这些导致了工程参与各方之间的对立关系。作为一个创新性的工程承发包模式,在过去的20年内,Partnering模式越来越多地在建筑项目中得到应用,它更好地达到了项目目标,并很大程度上减少了冲突和纠纷。对香港近期完成的6个主要Partnering项目进行案例分析,总结使用Partnering模式建筑项目的关键成功要素以及实施的主要障碍。对Partnering模式流程进行重新设计,为更好地在建筑项目中实施Partnering模式提供了方便。在本次研究的成果基础上,设计了一个Partnering模式"最佳实践"的框架结构,建议我国建筑界业者在今后的建筑项目中实施Partnering模式时加以应用。

Over a 70-year period, a mine near Libby, MT supplied nearly 80% of the world’s vermiculite. Raw vermiculite, which was contaminated with naturally occurring amphibole in veins throughout the deposit, was shipped to processing sites throughout the United States for exfoliation. In this pilot study, tree bark samples were collected near processing facilities in Spokane, WA, Santa Ana, CA, Newark, CA, and Phoenix, AZ in an effort to determine if areas surrounding these facilities are today contaminated with Libby amphibole asbestos (AA). from areas surrounding each of the four historical processing sites, Libby AA was detected in a subset of the bark samples. At the Santa Ana, Newark and Phoenix facilities, actinolite-tremolite and other high fe Ca-bearing amphibole were also measured from the bark samples. In addition, chrysotile was frequently measured in samples collected from each of the sites. from the results of this pilot study, it is evident that tree bark can serve as reservoirs of asbestos, and indicators of past and current contamination. These data also suggest that areas outside of these historical processing facilities may today have some level of existing contamination resulting from the operation of these facilities.

A boronic acid-based anthracene fluorescent probe was functionalised with an acrylamide unit to incorporate into a hydrogel system for monosaccharide *** solution,the fluorescent probe displayed a strong fluorescence turn-on response upon exposure to fructose,and an expected trend in apparent binding constants,as judged by a fluorescence response where D-fructose>D-galactose>D-mannose>*** hydrogel incorporating the boronic acid monomer demonstrated the ability to detect monosaccharides by fluorescence with the same overall trend as the monomer in solution with the addition of D-fructose resulting in a 10-fold enhancement(≤0.25 mol/L).
