The importance of porewater exchange process on carbon lateral export from saltmarsh creek to coastal sea

Saltmarsh is one of the blue carbon ecosystems for the highest carbon burial ***,the buried carbon in saltmarsh may still be exported to coastal water through porewater exchange,a process that has often been overlooked in previous studies.A typical tidal creek of the Dongtan saltmarsh wetland in Chongming Island,Shanghai,China,was ***224Ra and223Ra activities were measured and the hydrological parameters such as water flow were determined,from which the porewater exchange rate in the tidal creek was estimated to be 1.78±1.73 cm/***,the carbon concentrations in porewater were determined,based on which the fluxes of dissolved inorganic carbon(DIC),dissolved organic carbon(DOC),CH_(4),and CO_(2)exported from porewater exchange were derived to be 60±17,6.6±4.0,0.082±0.079,and 16±11 mmol/(m^(2)·d),*** addition,analysis on different species of carbon in the creek water showed that,the fluxes of DIC,DOC,CH_(4),and CO_(2)exported laterally from tidal creek to coastal sea were 58±14,7.6±2.3,0.0011±0.00063,and 1.5±0.68 mmol/(m^(2)·d),respectively,indicating that the porewater exchange-derived carbon fluxes accounted for a large portion of the lateral carbon outwelling,and even much higher than those in CH_(4)and CO_(2)***,the carbon exported from porewater exchange accounted for 50%of the carbon burial in the tidal creek system,of which DIC accounted for 73%of the total carbon flux transported by porewater ***,this study indicated that the porewater exchange-derived carbon fluxes to the tidal creek water may cause an overestimation in the carbon sequestration capacity of saltmarsh wetlands,and revealed the importance of porewater exchange for the carbon cycle of tidal creek system of saltmarsh wetlands.

We propose and investigate a novel stable two-dimensional（2D） AlO2with anomalous stoichiometric ratios based on first-principles calculation. 2D AlO2has metallic properties. It possesses the rare in-plane and out-of-plane negative Poisson's ratio（NPR） phenomenon, originating from its special sawtooth-like structure. The absolute value of the NPR decreases as the number of layers increases. The adsorption of volatile organic compounds（VOCs） including CH2O, C2H3Cl and C6H6by AlO2exhibit small adsorption distance, large adsorption energy, large charge transfer and significant density of states（DOS） changes,indicating the presence of strong interactions. The desorption time of each gas molecule on the AlO2surface is also evaluated, and the results further suggest that the desorption of VOCs can be controlled by changing the temperature to achieve the recycling of AlO2. These interesting properties make 2D AlO2a promising material for electronic, mechanical and sensing applications for VOCs.

A novel system for measuring net photochemical ozone production rates in the atmosphere based on cavity ring-down spectroscopy(OPR-CRDS)was *** system consists of two chambers(a reaction chamber and a reference chamber)and a dual-channel O_(x)-CRDS *** minimize the wall loss of O_(x)in the chambers,the inner surfaces of both chambers are coated with Teflon *** performance of the OPR-CRDS system was *** was found that even though the photolysis frequency(J value)decreased by 10%,the decrease in the P(O_(3))caused by the ultraviolet-blocking film coating was less than 3%.The two chambers had a good consistency in the mean residence time and the measurement of NO_(2)and O_(x)under the condition of no *** detection limit of the OPR-CRDS was determined to be 0.20 ppbv/*** further verify the accuracy of the system,the direct measurement values of the OPR-CRDS systemwere comparedwith the calculation results based on radical(OH,HO_(2),and RO_(2))reactions,and a good correlation was obtained between the measured and calculated ***,the developed instrument was applied to obtain the comprehensive field observations at an urban site in the Yangtze River Delta(China)for 40 days,the time series and change characteristics of the P(O_(3))were obtained directly,and the good environmental adaptability and stability of the OPR-CRDS system were *** is expected that the new instrument will be beneficial to investigations of the relationship between P(O_(3))and its precursors.

Functional hyperbranched polymers, as an important class of materials, are widely applied in diverse areas. Therefore, the development of simple and efficient reactions to prepare hyperbranched polymers is of great significance. In this work, trialdehydes, diamines, and trimethylsilyl cyanide could easily undergo multicomponent polymerization under mild conditions, producing hyperbranched poly(alpha-aminonitrile)s with high molecular weights (Mw up to 4.87x104) in good yields (up to 85%). The hyperbranched poly(alpha-aminonitrile)s have good solubility in commonly used organic solvents, high thermal stability as well as morphological stability. Furthermore, due to the numerous aldehyde groups in their branched chains, these hb-poly(alpha-aminonitrile)s can undergo one-pot, two-step, four-component post-polymerization with high efficiency. This work not only confirms the efficiency of our established catalyst-free multicomponent polymerization of aldehydes, amines and trimethylsilyl cyanide, but also provides a versatile and powerful platform for the preparation of functional hyperbranched polymeric materials.

Various data were utilized to analyze the sedimentary facies,completely reconstruct the palaeogeographic maps,and evaluate the reservoir quality of the Middle-Upper Cambrian Xixiangchi Formation in the Sichuan Basin,including evidence from field outcrops,drilling cores,microscopic thin sections,scanning electron microscopy （SEM）,combined with experimental analysis data,such as petrophysical data(porosity （%） and permeability （mD）),and radioactive elements (uranium (238U),thorium (232Th),and potassium (40K)),and isotopic data (δ13C)).In the Sichuan Basin,the Middle-Upper Cambrian Xixiangchi Formation was principally deposited in a restricted platform with a lithology predominantly composed of dolomite,with local occurrences of limestone and other rock types in small *** beddings,cross beddings,horizontal beddings,storm depositions,and mud cracks locally developed in some *** 3rd-order sequences （SQ1-SQ4） were identified within the Xixiangchi Formation in this *** sequence is subdivided into a highstand systems tract （HST） and a transgressive systems tract （TST）.Reservoirs are principally developed in high-energy grain shoal deposits located in SQ2 and SQ3,with a minor occurrence in SQ1 and *** lithology of these shoal deposits is essentially composed of sandy dolomite and crystalline dolomite characterized by relatively low average porosity （2.61%） and permeability （1.0073 mD） *** increase of these values in several studied samples might be related to seepage and connecting dissolution pores and vugs through fractures which have a constructive effect on porosity and *** occurrence of karst caves through superimposed supergene karstification and bedding karstification highly improved the reservoir's physical properties in some *** reservoir space is dominated by intergranular dissolution pores,karst caves,and fractures,and their formation was controlled by sedimentation,diagenesis,penecontemporaneous dissolu

The accumulation of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in poorly ventilated environments poses the risk of natural radiation exposure to the public.A previous study indicated that satisfactory results in determining the^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations by measuring the total alpha counts at five time intervals within 560 min should be expected only in the case of high progeny concentrations in *** complete the measurement within a relatively short period and adapt it for simultaneous measurements at comparatively lower^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny concentrations,a novel mathematical model was proposed based on the radioactive decay *** model employs a nonlinear fitting method to distinguish nuclides with overlapping spectra by utilizing the alpha particle counts of non-overlapping spectra within consecutive measurement cycles to obtain the concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in *** verification experiments were conducted using an alpha *** experimental results demonstrate that the concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny calculated by the new method align more closely with the actual circumstances than those calculated by the total count method,and their relative uncertainties are all within±16%.Furthermore,the measurement time was reduced to 90 min,representing an acceleration of 84%.The improved capability of the new method in distinguishing alpha particles with similar energies emitted from ^(218)Po and^(212)Bi,both approximately 6 MeV,contributed to realizing more accurate *** proposed method has the potential advantage of measuring relatively low concentrations of^(222)Rn and^(220)Rn progeny in air more quickly via air filtration.

The emergence of drug resistance to virus(i.e.,acyclovir(ACV)to herpesviruses)has been termed one of the common clinical issues,emphasizing the discovery of new antiviral *** address it,a genome-wide clustered regularly interspaced short palindromic repeats(CRISPR)screening was performed in mouse haploid embryonic stem cells infected with pseudorabies virus(PRV),anα-herpesvirus causing human and pig *** results demonstrated that type 2 voltage-gated chloride channels(CLC-2)encoded by one of the identified genes,CLCN2,is a potential drug target for anti-herpesvirus ***-2 inhibitors,omeprazole(OME)and 4,4'-diisothiocyanostilbene-2,2'-disulfonic acid(DIDS),can efficiently inhibit infection of multiple herpesviruses in cellulo(i.e.,PRV,HSV and EBV),and effectively treat murine herpes simplex encephalitis(HSE).Additionally,DIDS was found to inhibit HSV-1 replication by blocking the PI3K/Akt *** importantly,both DIDS and OME were able to inhibit ACV-resistant HSV-1 strain *** study's findings suggest that targeting host-cell factors such as CLC-2 may be a promising approach to tackling herpesvirus drug *** discovery of CLC-2 as a potential drug target for anti-herpesvirus therapy provides a new direction for the development of novel antiviral agents.

In this paper, a distributed adaptive dynamic programming(ADP) framework based on value iteration is proposed for multi-player differential games. In the game setting,players have no access to the information of others' system parameters or control laws. Each player adopts an on-policy value iteration algorithm as the basic learning framework. To deal with the incomplete information structure, players collect a period of system trajectory data to compensate for the lack of information. The policy updating step is implemented by a nonlinear optimization problem aiming to search for the proximal admissible policy. Theoretical analysis shows that by adopting proximal policy searching rules, the approximated policies can converge to a neighborhood of equilibrium policies. The efficacy of our method is illustrated by three examples, which also demonstrate that the proposed method can accelerate the learning process compared with the centralized learning framework.

Mesozoic-Palaeozoic marine carbonate rocks are crucial hydrocarbon reservoirs in the Central Uplift area of the South Yellow Sea Basin(SYSB).Due to the scarcity of boreholes and the significant heterogeneity of carbonate reservoirs,the distribution of porous carbonate reservoirs and their related key controlling factors remain *** this study,factors affecting the distribution of porous Carboniferous-Early Permian carbonate reservoirs in the SYSB were investigated through seismic inversion and isotope *** log-seismic characteristics of porous carbonate reservoirs,sensitive lithology parameters,and physical property parameters were extracted and *** pre-stack simultaneous inversion technique was applied to predict the lithology and physical properties of porous carbonate ***,the sedimentary of carbonate was analyzed using isotopes of carbon,oxygen,and *** results show that porous carbonate reservoirs are mainly developed in the open platform sediments with porosities of 3%-5%and are mainly distributed in the paleo-highland(Huanglong Formation and Chuanshan Formation)and the slope of paleo-highland(Hezhou Formation).The porous carbonate reservoirs of the Qixia Formation are only locally *** addition,the negativeδ13C excursions indicate a warm and humid tropical climate with three sea-level fluctuations in the study area from the Carboniferous to Early *** favorable conditions for developing porous carbonate rocks include the sedimentary environment and diagenetic *** primary pore tends to form in high-energy environments of the paleo-highland,and the secondary pore is increased by dissolution during the syngenetic or quasi-syngenetic *** to the hydrocarbon potential analysis,the Late Ordovician Wufeng Formation and Lower Silurian Gaojiabian Formation are the source rocks in the high-maturity-over-maturity stage,the Carboniferous-Lower Permian carbonate is the good reservoirs,and th
