Depth error correction for projector-camera based consumer depth cameras

This paper proposes a depth measurement error model for consumer depth cameras such as the Microsoft Kinect, and a corresponding calibration method. These devices were originally designed as video game interfaces, and their output depth maps usually lack sufficient accuracy for 3 D *** have been proposed to reduce these depth errors, but they only consider camera-related *** the depth sensors are based on projectorcamera systems, we should also consider projectorrelated causes. Also, previous models require disparity observations, which are usually not output by such sensors, so cannot be employed in practice. We give an alternative error model for projector-camera based consumer depth cameras, based on their depth measurement algorithm, and intrinsic parameters of the camera and the projector; it does not need disparity values. We also give a corresponding new parameter estimation method which simply needs observation of a planar board. Our calibrated error model allows use of a consumer depth sensor as a 3 D measuring *** results show the validity and effectiveness of the error model and calibration procedure.

ATLAS LAr calorimeter will undergo its Phase-I upgrade during the long shutdown（LS2） in 2018, and a new LAr Trigger Digitizer Board（LTDB） will be designed and installed. Several commercial-off-the-shelf（COTS）multi-channel high-speed ADCs have been selected as possible backups of the radiation tolerant ADC ASICs for the LTDB. To evaluate the radiation tolerance of these backup commercial ADCs, we developed an ADC radiation tolerance characterization system, which includes the ADC boards, data acquisition（DAQ） board, signal generator,external power supplies and a host computer. The ADC board is custom designed for different ADCs, with ADC drivers and clock distribution circuits integrated on board. The Xilinx ZC706 FPGA development board is used as a DAQ board. The data from the ADC are routed to the FPGA through the FMC（FPGA Mezzanine Card）connector, de-serialized and monitored by the FPGA, and then transmitted to the host computer through the Gigabit Ethernet. A software program has been developed with Python, and all the commands are sent to the DAQ board through Gigabit Ethernet by this program. Two ADC boards have been designed for the ADC, ADS52J90 from Texas Instruments and AD9249 from Analog Devices respectively. TID tests for both ADCs have been performed at BNL, and an SEE test for the ADS52J90 has been performed at Massachusetts General Hospital（MGH）. Test results have been analyzed and presented. The test results demonstrate that this test system is very versatile, and works well for the radiation tolerance characterization of commercial multi-channel high-speed ADCs for the upgrade of the ATLAS LAr calorimeter. It is applicable to other collider physics experiments where radiation tolerance is required as well.

Surgical resection for pulmonary recurrence of esophageal cancer after curative esophagectomy

Aim:To clarify the significance of surgical resection for pulmonary recurrence after curative esophagectomy for esophageal ***:Clinical details,such as the recurrence site,timing,and contents of therapies for recurrence,and the prognosis,were examined in 14 patients who underwent surgical resection for pulmonary recurrence that developed after curative ***:The median disease-free interval after esophagectomy was 17.2 *** patients underwent pulmonary resection two times,and in one patient,three *** pulmonary resections were performed when other extra-pulmonary recurrences had been controlled,and R0 resection was *** and/or radiotherapy were additionally performed for pulmonary metastasis in 13 *** median survival time after initial pulmonary resection was 45.5 months,and the 1-,3-,and 5-year overall survival rates were 93%,68%,and 43%,*** 5-year overall survival rate after initial pulmonary resection was 13%in patients with Stage III or IV esophageal cancer and 100%in those with Stage I or II disease(P=0.010).The rate was 56%in patients with tumors<20 mm in size,while all 5 patients with lesions≥20 mm in size died within 3 years(P=0.005).Conclusion:Surgical resection along with systemic therapy is a promising treatment strategy for pulmonary recurrence after curative esophagectomy when it is solitary and *** factors,such as the esophageal cancer stage and the size of the pulmonary metastasis,are useful for deciding on the surgical indication.

Increasing rice yield potential is a continuous challenge posed by world population *** increase yield potential,favorable alleles of valuable genes need to be accumulated in promising *** conducted comparative yield trials for two years in Tsukuba,Japan,in a temperate region and at the International Rice Research Institute(IRRI),Philippines,in a tropical region using five high-yielding rice cultivars:Takanari and Hokuriku193,developed in Japan,and IR64,NSIC Rc158,and YTH183,developed in the *** plus genotype×environment interaction(GGE)biplot analysis across four environments(two regions×two seasons)classified the five cultivars into four categories:Takanari and YTH183 showed high adaptability to both tropical and temperate regions,Hokuriku193 was suitable for temperate regions,NSIC Rc158 was suitable for the tropics,and IR64 was inferior to the other cultivars in both *** high yield and adaptability in Takanari and YTH183 were attributed to their large sink capacity with good grain *** plant type for high yield was different,however,between the two cultivars;Takanari was a panicle-weight type,whereas YTH183 was a panicle-number *** of F2 progeny of a cross between Takanari and YTH183 showed transgressive segregation for number of panicles per plant as well as number of spikelets per panicle,leading some F2 plants to produce more spikelets per plant(corresponding to larger sink size)than the parental cultivars in both *** results suggest the possibility of developing rice cultivars with high yield potential in both temperate and tropical regions by crossing temperate with tropical high-yielding cultivars.

Forkhead box P3 (FOXP3) is a “master regulator” of regulatory T cells (Tregs), which are a subset of T cells that can suppress the antigen-specific immune reaction and that play important roles in host tolerance and immune homeostasis. It is well known that FOXP3 forms complexes with several proteins and can be regulated by various post-translational modifications (PTMs) such as acetylation, phosphorylation, ubiquitination, and methylation. As a consequence, the PTMs change the stability of FOXP3 and its capability to regulate gene expression, and eventually affect Treg activity. Although FOXP3 per se is not an ideal drug target, deacetylases, acetyltransferases, kinases, and other enzymes that regulate the PTMs of FOXP3 are potential targets to modulate FOXP3 and Treg activity. However, FOXP3 is not the only substrate for most of these enzymes;thus, unwanted ‘‘on target/off FOXP3” side effects must be considered when inhibitors to these enzymes are used. In this review, we summarize recent progress in the study of FOXP3 cofactors and PTM proteins, and potential clinical applications in autoimmunity and cancer immunity.

Methane is produced in a microbial electrosynthesis system(MES) without organic substrates. However, a relatively high applied voltage is required for the bioelectrical *** this study, we demonstrated that electrotrophic methane production at the biocathode was achieved even at a very low voltage of 0.1 V in an MES, in which abiotic HS-oxidized to SO_(4)^(2-) at the anodic carbon-cloth surface coated with platinum powder. In addition, microbial community analysis revealed the most probable pathway for methane production from electrons. First, electrotrophic H_(2) was produced by syntrophic bacteria, such as Syntrophorhabdus, Syntrophobacter, Syntrophus, Leptolinea, and Aminicenantales, with the direct acceptance of electrons at the biocathode. Subsequently, most of the produced H_(2) was converted to acetate by homoacetogens, such as Clostridium and Spirochaeta 2. In conclusion,the majority of the methane was indirectly produced by a large population of acetoclastic methanogens, namely Methanosaeta, via acetate. Further, hydrogenotrophic methanogens,including Methanobacterium and Methanolinea, produced methane via H_(2).
