BACKGROUND The management of offenders with mental disorders has been a significant concern in forensic *** Japan,the introduction of the Medical Treatment and Supervision Act in 2005 addressed the ***,numerous psychiatric patients at risk of violence still find themselves subject to the administrative involuntary hospitalization(AIH)scheme,which lacks clarity and updated *** To explore current as well as optimized learning strategies for risk assessment in AIH decision *** We conducted a questionnaire survey among designated psychiatrists to explore their experiences and expectations regarding training methods for psychiatric assessments of offenders with mental *** The findings of this study’s survey suggest a prevalent reliance on traditional learning approaches such as oral education and on-the-job *** This underscores the pressing need for structured training protocols in AIH ***,feedback derived from inpatient treatment experiences is identified as a crucial element for enhancing risk assessment skills.

Effect of educational intervention on attitudes toward the concept of criminal responsibility

AIM To evaluate the effect of educational intervention on individuals' knowledge of and attitudes toward forensic mental *** We conducted a questionnaire regarding attitudes toward various ideas about forensic mental health. The respondents attended a 1-h seminar regarding forensic mental health after answering the questionnaire. On completion of the seminar, the respondents answered another questionnaire containing many of the same questions as contained in the pre-seminar *** A total of 86 individuals attended the seminar, and 78 responded to the questionnaire. Only 13(18.8%) participants were supportive of the concept of criminal responsibility initially, and there was a statistically significant increase in those who became more supportive after the seminar, with 22(33%) being supportive after the seminar(Wilcoxon signed-rank test, P < 0.001). Logistic regression analysis revealed that participants who were skeptical about forensic mental systems and those with fewer opportunities to see media reports regarding psychiatry were likely to become supportive of criminal responsibility after the *** These results suggest that public attitudes toward criminal responsibility and mental health can be influenced via educational interventions.

Serum Levels of Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor in Patients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder in a Japanese Population

A role of lower brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) content in the pathogenesis of several mental illnesses has been suggested, especially in major depression. It is not known whether BDNF is involved in the pathogenesis of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Herein, we assessed the serum BDNF content and its correlation with symptom severity in a Japanese population with OCD. The serum BDNF levels of OCD patients (n = 39) and healthy controls (n = 37) were measured by ELISA. The severity of OCD symptoms was assessed by the Yale-Brown Obsessive-Compulsive Scale (Y-BOCS) and the Beck Depression Inventory (BDI). The OCD patients’ BDNF levels were significantly higher than those of the controls (17.5 ± 7.3 vs. 12.7 ± 4.7) (p < 0.01). No correlation was observed between the OCD patients’ BDNF levels and their OCD symptoms as scored by the Y-BOCS. For all 76 subjects, the BDI scores were significantly negatively correlated with the serum BDNF levels. Our findings revealed that contrary to previous reports, the serum BDNF content in OCD patients could be higher than that of healthy subjects.

High-entropy alloys can be compelling raw materials for semi-solid *** the present study,the influence of the Cu content on the melting behavior and semi-solid microstructure of CoCrCuxFeNi(x=0,1,2,3)alloys was ***-melted samples were cross-rolled at room temperature and then isothermally treated at 1175℃in the semi-solid state for 300 *** characterization showed that the alloys containing Cu were formed by two fcc ***,the increase in Cu content also led to an increase in the volumetric fraction of the Cu-rich *** solidification,this phase,which is the last to form,nucleates and epitaxially grows on the Cu-lean *** the studied CoCrCuFeNi alloys exhibited the same melting *** Cu-rich phase melts at approximately 1120℃,whereas the Culean phase melts at approximately 1350℃,providing a suitable processing temperature range of more than 200℃.The semi-solid microstructures were considerably refined and globular regardless of the alloy composition,being suitable for semi-solid ***,each fcc phase exhibited roughly the same composition under the different processing *** Cu content in the Cu-lean phase was approximately 10 at.%,while Co,Cr,Fe,and Ni were in an approximately equiatomic ***,the Cu content was between 80 at.%and 86 at.%in the Cu-rich *** isothermal treatment of the CoCrCu3FeNi alloy at a higher temperature(1300℃)only caused the globules to *** conclusion,this work showed that these alloys can be potential candidates for semi-solid processing.

In recent years,innate-like T-cell populations,such as invariant natural killer T(iNKT)cells and mucosal-associated invariant T(MAIT)cells,have been identified[1].These cells are different from conventional T cells in that they reside in tissues such as the liver,lung,and skin,rather than the lymph node and spleen[2].Although iNKT and MAIT cells are abundant in the skin immediately after birth,the detailed functions or the mechanisms regulating their localization have not been clarified[3].In a study published in Nature Immunology,Wang et *** that the early homing of iNKT cells to the skin was dependent on CCR10 expression during the stage of thymic development and was critical for proper commensal bacterial colonization and skin development[4].

Background: Diabetic peripheral neuropathy (DPN) changes leg muscle coordination during walking and reduces stability. The aim of this study was to determine whether rhythmic auditory stimulation (RAS) affected the gait performance of patients with DPN. Methods: Forty DPN patients (mean age, 59.1 ± 9.4 y) were randomly allocated to RAS and control groups in equal numbers. The participants in each group underwent 2 weeks of supervised rehabilitative treatment (40 min/day) as inpatients. This included walking twice a day, during which the RAS group participants walked in time with a metronome set at a self-chosen, comfortable rate. We compared gait function, lower limb muscle co-contraction, and gait stability before and after the intervention for both groups, calculated the change in score for each parameter, and assessed differences between the groups with unpaired t-tests and ANCOVA. Results: RAS was associated with significant improvement in all parameters. In the control group, there was no improvement in cadence, co-contraction, or gait stability (vertical). Compared with the control group, the RAS group showed improvement in co-contraction and gait stability. Conclusion: RAS may be helpful for improving the lower limb muscle coordination and gait function of DPN patients.

Safe Hydroformylation of Aliphatic Alkene in a Flow Reactor

Despite hydroformylation being a very efficient method for the transformation of alkenes, it is not commonly employed in laboratories owing to the flammable/toxic nature of hydrogen and carbon monoxide gases and the necessity of high-pressure equipment in a batch system. Flow chemistry often raises the safety profiles against high-pressure and toxic gases because the diameter of the flow reactor is small. Herein, we show that aliphatic alkenes can be safely hydroformylated in a flow reactor. In our flow method, although the target hydroformylated product was obtained in a low yield (19%), toxic gases were safely treated using a flow reactor. Better yields could possibly be achieved by recycling of the unreacted alkene.

The mechanical properties of Ti−Cu alloys processed via thixoforming were ***−Cu(25,27,and 29 wt.%Cu)ingots were produced via arc melting,homogenization at 950℃ for 24 h,and hot-forging at 900℃,followed by thixoforming at a speed of 8 mm/s after isothermal heat treatment at 1035℃ for 300 *** thixoformed alloys exhibited good mechanical strength,limited plasticity under tensile loading,and reasonable plasticity under compressive *** mechanical strength and plasticity decreased as the Cu content increased as a result of the increasing volume fraction of the peritectic Ti_(2)Cu phase(transformed liquid),which exhibited a lower strength and plasticity than theα+Ti_(2)Cu regions(transformed solid).These findings indicated that the trade-off between the mechanical properties and semisolid processability is largely governed by the Cu content.

谷胱甘肽-S-转移酶(GST)能在多种化合物的亲电中心催化谷胱甘肽的亲核加成。根据其广泛结合亲脂性化合物(胆红素、胆酸、类固醇激素、药物和其它异物)的能力,也可认为是一种细胞内的结合与运转蛋白。根据物理化学、免疫学、酶学和结构特点,GST 分成三大类:GST-α、GST-μ、GST-π。GST-α和μ主要存在于成人的肝脏,GST-π主要见于肾脏、胎盘和胎儿肝脏。组织中的GST-π和恶性肿瘤有着某种联系,例如,大鼠GST-P 和Yp 可见于由化学所致的大鼠肝肿瘤或癌前期(增生小结,在正常肝脏中则见不到。
