Background: Emergency front-of-neck airway(eFONA) is a life-saving procedure in “cannot intubate, cannot oxygenate”(CICO). The fastest and most reliable method of eFONA has not been determined. We compared two of the most advocated approaches: surgical cricothyroidotomy and percutaneous cricothyroidotomy, in an obese, in vivo porcine hemorrhage model, designed to introduce real-time physiological feedback, relevant and high provider stress. The primary aim was to determine the fastest method to secure airway. Secondary aims were arterial saturation and partial pressure of oxygen, proxy survival and influence of ***: Twelve pigs [(60.3±4.1) kg] were anesthetized and exposed to 25%–35% total blood volume hemorrhage before extubation and randomization to Seldinger technique “percutaneous cricothyroidotomy”(n=6) or scalpelbougie-tube technique “surgical cricothyroidotomy”(n=6). Specialists in anesthesia and intensive care in a tertiary referral hospital performed the eFONA, simulating an actual ***: In surgical cricothyroidotomy vs. percutaneous cricothyroidotomy, the median(interquartile range, IQR) times to secure airway were 109(IQR 71–130) s and 298(IQR 128–360) s(P=0.0152), arterial blood saturation(SaO2) were 74.7(IQR 46.6–84.2)% and 7.9(IQR 4.1–15.6)%(P=0.0167), PaO_(2) were 7.0(IQR 4.7–7.7) kPa and 2.0(IQR 1.1–2.9) kPa(P=0.0667), and times of cardiac arrest(proxy survival) were 137–233 s, 190(IQR 143–229) s, from CICO. All six animals survived surgical cricothyroidotomy, and two of six(33%) animals survived percutaneous cricothyroidotomy. Years in anesthesia, 13.5(IQR 7.5–21.3), did not influence time to secure ***: eFONA by surgical cricothyroidotomy was faster and had increased oxygenation and survival, when performed under stress by board certified anesthesiologists, and may be an indication of preferred method in situations with hemorrhage and CICO, in obese patients.

This paper investigates whether or not there is a policy window for making health data ‘Findable’, ‘Accessible’(under well-defined conditions), ‘Interoperable’ and ‘Reusable’(FAIR) in Ethiopia. The question is answered by studying the alignment of policies for health data in Ethiopia with the FAIR Guidelines or their ‘FAIR Equivalency’. Policy documents relating to the digitalisation of health systems in Ethiopia were examined to determine their FAIR Equivalency. Although the documents are fragmented and have no overarching governing framework, it was found that they aim to make the disparate health data systems in Ethiopia interoperable and boost the discoverability and(re)usability of data for research and better decision making. Hence, the FAIR Guidelines appear to be aligned with the regulatory frameworks for ICT and digital health in Ethiopia and, under the right conditions, a policy window could open for their adoption and implementation.

The authors investigated the catalytic activity of TiO2 for methylene blue（MB） degradation under solar *** reaction parameters such as reaction time,TiO2 content,temperature,pH,MB concentration and light irradiation were in ***,the experimental data was analyzed to investigate the adsorption order and adsorption *** results indicate that the optimum conditions for the removal of MB are a TiO2 content of 0.5 g/L,0.50 mg/L MB solution,a temperature of 30 ℃ and reaction time of 60 *** was found that the amount of MB removal was decreased when the pH and temperature *** suggests that the removal process is ***,the solar light irradiation plays a vital role in enhancing the removal amount of *** the dark reaction,the ability of TiO2 to remove MB was increased when the pH *** kinetics studies confirm that the adsorption of MB is the *** the adsorption model was fitted with the Freundlich isotherm.

The latest regulatory framework,which has been introduced globally in the form of Basel III,and its implementation in the legislation of the member states of the Euro-pean Union has generated much interest in the impact of regulation on the efficiency and profitability of *** study aims to examine the impact of the introduction of two major regulatory changes(Basel II and Basel III)on bank performance,in terms of bank size and bank-specific and macroeconomic variables.A two-stage empirical anal-ysis was conducted on a sample of 433 European commercial banks over the 2006–2015 *** the first stage,relative efficiency was calculated using non-parametric data envelopment *** the second stage,the generalized method of moments was used to examine the impact of bank-specific and macroeconomic variables as well as regulation on bank performance,that is,profitability and ***-ing bank size,the results show a diverse impact of regulation on bank *** large-and medium-sized banks,regulation positively affects both efficiency and profitability,whereas,for small banks,it negatively affects *** results suggest that larger banks have skillfully adapted to the new regulatory *** contrast,small banks have problems with profitability and efficiency because the new regulatory framework has imposed additional administrative and regulatory *** could result in future failure or mergers with larger banks,resulting in a higher concentration in the banking sector and increased systemic *** results strongly suggest that regulation should not be implemented equally for all banks;that is,on a one size fits all terms.A distinction between small and large banks when introducing new regulatory frameworks should be made if a reasonable level of competition is to be preserved.

Objective:To identify the sandfly fauna and analyze ecology of sandfly vector(s)of visceral leishmaniasis in three districts of Somali Regional State,southeast ***:Sandflies were collected from four sampling habitats,including indoor,peri-domestic,farm field and mixed forest using light and sticky traps in July 2016,and February and April 2017 in Liben and Dawa zones in the Somali Regional State,southeastern ***:In total,4367 sandfly specimens,belonging to 12 species(three Phlebotomus *** nine Sergentomyia spp.)were ***(P.)heischi,***,and *** constituted 45.7%,31.1%,and 23.1%of the sandfly collection,*** were significant differences in the median number of ***,and *** captured per CDC trap/night between the three sampling districts(P<0.05).In light trap capture,collection habitats had significant effects on the abundance of ***,and ***(P<0.05).More median numbers of ***,and *** species were collected in agricultural fields followed by mixed forest and peri-domestic *** and *** were caught more in outdoor than indoor habitats,suggesting exophilic ***:The study demonstrated that the presence of *** and *** are probable vectors of visceral leishmaniasis in this new *** findings of our study will improve the understanding of the dynamics of visceral leishmaniasis transmission and will facilitate the implementation of integrated disease control measures based on ecological knowledge of visceral leishmaniasis vector in Liben and Dawa zones and its surrounding regions.
