The electroreduction reaction of CO_(2)(ECO_(2)RR)requires high-performance catalysts to convert CO_(2)into useful *** metal-based atomically dispersed catalysts are promising for the high selectivity and activity in ECO_(2)*** work presents a series of atomically dispersed Co,Fe bimetallic catalysts by carbonizing the Fe-introduced Co-zeolitic-imidazolate-framework(C-Fe-Co-ZIF)for the syngas generation from ECO_(2)*** synergistic effect of the bimetallic catalyst promotes CO *** to the pure C-Co-ZiF,C-Fe-Co-ZIF facilitates CO production with a CO Faradaic efficiency(FE)boost of 10%,with optimal FE_(CO)of 51.9%,FE_(H_(2))of 42.4%at-0.55 V,and CO current density of 8.0 mA cm^(-2)at-0.7 V versus reversible hydrogen electrode(RHE).The H_(2)/CO ratio is tunable from 0.8 to 4.2 in a wide potential window of-0.35 to-0.8 V versus *** total FE_(CO+H_(2))maintains as high as 93%over 10 *** proper adding amount of Fe could increase the number of active sites and create mild distortions for the nanoscopic environments of Co and Fe,which is essential for the enhancement of the CO production in ECO_(2)*** positive impacts of Cu-Co and Ni-Co bimetallic catalysts demonstrate the versatility and potential application of the bimetallic strategy for ECO_(2)RR.

Future components to enhance the basic,native security of 5G networks are either complex mechanisms whose impact in the requiring 5G communications are not considered,or lightweight solutions adapted to ultrareliable low-latency communications(URLLC)but whose security properties remain under *** different 5G network slices may have different requirements,in general,both visions seem to fall short at provisioning secure URLLC in the *** this work we address this challenge,by introducing cost-security functions as a method to evaluate the performance and adequacy of most developed and employed non-native enhanced security mechanisms in 5G *** categorize those new security components into different groups according to their purpose and deployment *** propose to analyze them in the context of existing 5G architectures using two different ***,using model checking techniques,we will evaluate the probability of an attacker to be successful against each security ***,using analytical models,we will analyze the impact of these security mechanisms in terms of delay,throughput consumption,and ***,we will combine both approaches using stochastic cost-security functions and the PRISM model checker to create a global *** results are first evidence of how a 5G network that covers and strengthened all security areas through enhanced,dedicated non-native mechanisms could only guarantee secure URLLC with a probability of∼55%.

A computerized method for determining rock joint coefficients is *** relative similarity indicators are introduced to classify surface morphology of rock *** classification enables to compare investigated and database rock *** a comparison aims at finding the couple of surfaces that are distinguished by the highest dynamical *** first absolute indicator results from the Fourier matrix and evaluates wavy shapes of *** second absolute indicator quantifies the heights of surface reliefs and is defined as the root mean square height of the surface *** reliability of these indicators is tested within the surface analysis of a series of limestone *** the computerized assessment,25 people have performed visual assessment of these limestone *** results of visual assessments have been statistically processed and compared to the results received from the computerized *** newly introduced absolute indicators have proved to be prospective numerical tools for evaluating joint rock coefficients.

Fraudulent actions of a trader or a group of traders can cause substantial disturbance to the market,both directly influencing the price of an asset or indirectly by misin-forming other market *** behavior can be a source of systemic risk and increasing distrust for the market participants,consequences that call for viable *** on the foundations provided by the extant literature,this study aims to design an agent-based market model capable of reproducing the behavior of the Bitcoin market during the time of an alleged Bitcoin price manipulation that occurred between 2017 and early *** model includes the mechanisms of a limit order book market and several agents associated with different trading strategies,including a fraudulent agent,initialized from empirical data and who performs market *** model is validated with respect to the Bitcoin price as well as the amount of Bitcoins obtained by the fraudulent agent and the traded *** results provide a satisfactory fit to historical *** price dips and volume anomalies are explained by the actions of the fraudulent trader,completing the known body of evidence extracted from blockchain *** model suggests that the presence of the fraudulent agent was essential to obtain Bitcoin price development in the given time period;without this agent,it would have been very unlikely that the price had reached the heights as it did in late *** insights gained from the model,especially the connection between liquidity and manipulation efficiency,unfold a discussion on how to prevent illicit behavior.

The linear component of starch,amylose,has the ability to interact with hydrophobic molecules forming inclusion complexes(ICs).These structures have gained a particular interest for potential food applications,either as dietary fiber or as delivery systems of bioactive *** the second case,the complexation of sensitive molecules is directed to protect them from processing,storage and stomach conditions and to guarantee a sustained release in the gastrointestinal *** present review covers the analytical and technological aspects of inclusion complexes,with focus on their potential application in the development of functional *** was addressed by first explaining the methodologies used for the analytical assessment of their structural,thermal,and functional properties,followed by the study of the functionality of ICs as carrier agents of different bioactive compounds and food ingredients,including alpha-lipoic acid,α-linolenic and linoleic fatty acids,conjugated linoleic acid,ascorbyl palmitate,phenolic compounds,and *** also covers the application of ICs in food products and the analysis of the potential industrial scalability of the formation *** analytical methodologies allowed a complete characterization of the *** structures have shown suitable functional properties as delivery systems of the bioactive compounds and flavors covered in this *** incorporation of ICs in food has led to the development of products with improved nutritional and/or functional *** successful formation of complexes using methods suitable for an industrial scale represents promising preliminary results to achieve the scalability of the ICs production in the near future.

Shape design of arch dams under load uncertainties with robust optimization

Due to an increased need in hydro-electricity, water storage, and flood protection, it is assumed that a series of new dams will be build throughout the world. The focus of this paper is on the non-probabilistic-based design of new arch-type dams by applying means of robust design optimization (RDO). This type of optimization takes into account uncertainties in the loads and in the material properties of the structure. As classical procedures of probabilistic-based optimization under uncertainties, such as RDO and reliability-based design optimization (RBDO), are in general computationally expensive and rely on estimates of the system’s response variance, we will not follow a full-probabilistic approach but work with predefined confidence levels. This leads to a bi-level optimization program where the volume of the dam is optimized under the worst combination of the uncertain parameters. As a result, robust and reliable designs are obtained and the result is independent from any assumptions on stochastic properties of the random variables in the model. The optimization of an arch-type dam is realized here by a robust optimization method under load uncertainty, where hydraulic and thermal loads are considered. The load uncertainty is modeled as an ellipsoidal expression. Comparing with any traditional deterministic optimization method, which only concerns the minimum objective value and offers a solution candidate close to limit-states, the RDO method provides a robust solution against uncertainty. To reduce the computational cost, a ranking strategy and an approximation model are further involved to do a preliminary screening. By this means, the robust design can generate an improved arch dam structure that ensures both safety and serviceability during its lifetime.

Objective To measure the intraobserver concordance of an experienced genitourinary radiologist reporting of multiparametric magnetic resonance imaging of the prostate(mpMRIp)scans over *** An experienced genitourinary radiologist re-reported his original 100 consecutive mpMRIp scans using Prostate Imaging-Reporting and Data System version 2(PI-RADS v2)after 5 years of further experience comprising>1000 *** agreement was measured using Cohen's ***,specificity,negative predictive value(NPV),positive predictive value(PPV),and accuracy were calculated,and comparison of sensitivity was performed using McNemar's *** Ninety-six mpMRIp scans were included in our final *** the 96 patients,53(55.2%)patients underwent subsequent biopsy(n=43)or prostatectomy(n=15),with 73 lesions *** agreement(Cohen's kappa 0.55)was seen in the number of lesions identified at initial reporting and on re-reading(81 vs.39 total lesions;and 71 vs.37 number of PI-RADS≥3 lesions).For clinically significant prostate cancer,re-reading demonstrated an increase in specificity(from 43%to 89%)and PPV(from 62%to 87%),but a decrease in sensitivity(from 94%to 72%,p=0.01)and NPV(from 89%to 77%).Conclusion The intraobserver agreement for a novice to experienced radiologist reporting mpMRIp using PI-RADS v2 is *** sensitivity is off-set by improved specificity and PPV,which validate mpMRIp as a gold standard for prebiopsy screening.

High rate production of concentrated sulfides from metal bearing wastewater in an expanded bed hydrogenotrophic sulfate reducing bioreactor

Metallurgical wastewaters contain high concentrations of sulfate,up to 15 g L^(-1).Sulfate-reducing bioreactors are employed to treat these wastewaters,reducing sulfates to sulfides which subsequently coprecipitate *** loading and reduction rates are typically restricted by the total H2S *** stripping,sulfide precipitation and dilution are the main strategies employed to minimize inhibition by H2S,but can be adversely compromised by suboptimal sulfate reduction,clogging and additional energy ***,metallurgical wastewater was treated for over 250 days using two hydrogenotrophic granular activated carbon expanded bed bioreactors without additional removal of sulfides.H2S toxicity was minimized by operating at pH 8±0.15,resulting in an average sulfate removal of 7.08±0.08 g L^(-1),sulfide concentrations of 2.1±0.2 g L^(-1) and peaks up to 2.3±0.2 g L^(-1).A sulfate reduction rate of 20.6±0.9 g L^(-1)d^(-1) was achieved,with maxima up to 27.2 g L^(-1)d^(-1),which is among the highest reported considering a literature review of 39 *** rates reported here are 6e8 times higher than those reported for other reactors without active sulfide removal and the only reported for expanded bed sulfate-reducing bioreactors using *** increasing the influent sulfate concentration and maintaining high sulfide concentrations,sulfate reducers were promoted while fermenters and methanogens were *** wastewater containing 4.4 g L^(-1) sulfate,0.036 g L^(-1) nitrate and various metals(As,Fe,Tl,Zn,Ni,Sb,Co and Cd)was successfully treated with all metal(loid)s,nitrates and sulfates removed below discharge limits.
