Combined cooling,heating and power(CCHP)systems are characterized by a substantially higher energy-utilization efficiency compared to standalone *** this study,an integrated system comprising a solid-oxide fuel cell(SOFC),hot-water storage tank(HWST)and absorption refrigeration(AR)cycle is *** SOFC model was developed in Aspen Plus®.It was used to determine the thermodynamic properties of the exhaust gas that was then used to provide heat for the HWST and to drive the AR *** models for the AR cycles were developed in Engineering Equation Solver,considering LiBr-H2O and nH3-H2O as working *** sensitivity analysis of a number of SOFC output parameters has been carried *** most optimal case was characterized with the coefficient of performance(COP)and CCHP efficiency of 0.806 and 85.2%for the LiBr-H2O system,and 0.649 and 83.6%for the nH3-H2O system,*** such optimal operating conditions,the SOFC was characterized by the net electrical efficiency of 57.5%and the net power output of 123.66 *** from the optimal solution were used to perform the thermodynamic study and sensitivity analysis to assess the influence of different absorption cycle operating conditions and to identify possible applications for the considered integrated systems.

Model predictive control(MPC)is an advanced control *** has been deployed to harness the energy flexibility of a *** requires a dynamic model of the building to achieve such an ***,developing a suitable predictive model is the main challenge in MPC implementation forflexibility *** studyfocuses on the application of key performance indicators(KPls)to evaluate the suitability of MPC models via feature *** this end,multiple models were developed for two houses.A feature selection method was developed to select an appropriate feature space to train the *** predictive models were then quantified based on one-step ahead prediction error(OSPE),a standard KPI used in multiple studies,and a less-often KPl:multi-step ahead prediction error(MSPE).An MPC workflow was designed where different models can serve as the predictive *** showed that MSPE better demonstrates the performance of predictive models used for flexibility *** revealed that up to 57% of the flexibility potential and 48% of energy use reduction are not exploited if MSPE is not minimized while developing a predictive model.

Prescribing patterns of antibiotics at two teaching hospitals in Sanandaj

We report here the results of a prospective analysis of the pattern of antibiotics use over a one month period(May 2009)at two teaching hospitals in Sanandaj,western part of *** on antibiotic usage were obtained from the pharmacy *** was coded,computed and analyzed using SPSS version 11.5.A total of 1336 and 556 patients from Beasat and tohid hospital respectively received *** patients represented 758(41.5 %)and females 1080(58.5 %)of the total number of patients evaluated by physicians at the two hospitals during the one month *** of antibiotics varied from hospital to hospital;Beasat hospital had the highest *** ward-wise distribution of antibiotic use showed that the prevalence of prescribing was highest in the post partum ward(66.58%).Similarly,among tohid hospital wards,men surgical ward and women surgical ward prescribed antibiotics significantly more than all other *** route of administration of antibiotics was parentrally for 85.5% and 88.2% at Beasat anf tohid hospitals *** distribution of use of individual antibiotics showed that cepfzoline was the most frequently prescribed antibiotics used at both the ***(childbirth)and pneumonia were the most frequent diagnosed pattern for which an antibiotic was prescribed at Beasat and tohid hospital *** conclusion our study suggests that there is considerable scope for improving prescribing pattern among the practitioners and minimizing the use of *** improvement would be facilitated by providing feedback,prescriber education and hospital formulary.
